Description: Motoring in Manhattan is a frustrating endeavor, but the New York skyline makes a particularly gritty backdrop against which to compare the pinnacles of the muscle car scene.Add Comments50
Alex SomersJul 10, 2012 A muscle car is a muscle car u risk gas mileage for power no matter what. It's not ur parents Nissan leaf for a reason
Michael ShurtzJul 09, 2012 For those who would choose the camaro over the mustang for a day to day driving car think about it. The camaro is good for day to day driving but you have terrible gas mileage and have to pay gas guzzlers tax while the mustang has better gas mileage and does not have to pay tax so the mustang is for me no matter what!
Peter Mark GacekJul 08, 2012 I'll take them both without stripes in either black or light grey.
Read MillsJul 08, 2012 I think that many people often forget that stock muscle cars are a blank canvas. They are cars that are sold with un-tapped potential that the owner can unlock through modding.
Laguna SecaJul 07, 2012 God bless them both, love them. When the ZL-1 fixes that interior I will buy one.
Alex SomersJul 07, 2012 Big cars are great but with a bit of tuning with the super charger on the zl1 it could be running 740 hp and 780 ft. Lbs. torque. They had to tune down the zl1 cause they didn't want it out doing the zr1 corvette. I'd rather have the camaro
Steven VelezJul 07, 2012 @Isaac i read your comments but in my mind i couldn't read it correctly cause i kept hearing it in a screaming voice.
Denise OmanJul 07, 2012 The Camaro is a much better car.
Scott LenahanJul 07, 2012 Finally someone gets the point. It's about the sound, the look, the straight line speed, the absolute scare you get from driving it... Not the speed around tracks and ride quality. I want to be scared to death when I drive the ultimate muscle car, not find it easy.. Love em both, but GT500 wins this one...
Craig LafeyJul 07, 2012 ZL1 for me. Love em. 2 seconds faster around the track too? Nice.
Cory WilhelmJul 07, 2012 It was a great review. And for once no arguing. Also I'm 5'10" and I feel cramped and small in the Chevy. I've been in the mustang and it is easier to see out of. And Shelby for me.
Ethan AmoJul 06, 2012 Yea, I really gotta admit, both look outstanding, both have the power. They are both awesome...especially in red..
Zeus MochaJul 06, 2012 It has visibility issues, trust me, I'm a doctor... Haha I have one and it's not horrible but if you are 6'3" you shouldn't have a problem. If your shorter though, you will have problems looking over the hood and then the stupid A pillar.
Cameron DeanJul 06, 2012 I'd take both, and a Boss LS
Geoff NovakJul 06, 2012 But lets be honnest. These cars are awesome :)
Evan CookJul 06, 2012 I don't know why some you guys are talking about having visibility isues with the zl1. I'm 6 ft 3 inches and when I sat in one I had to pull the seat forward and I could see fine through all windows.
Michael RileyJul 06, 2012 it could get more American if you didn't have an accent ;P
Klay OwensJul 06, 2012 I love them both, but I prefer the cobra over the zl1 any day of the week.
Brady FeredayJul 06, 2012 Holy cruise control Isaac calm your self
Phillip HolbrookJul 06, 2012 Yeah they were scary but it was due to a lack of technology not because they wanted it to scare you.
Phillip HolbrookJul 06, 2012 These are pony cars, the Camaro was called the Hugger back in the day. Do you even know why? Because it hugged the road. For the time the Camaro was possibly the best handling car you could get stock from a factory.
Jesse AndersenJul 06, 2012 I don't think his figure of $35,000 is true but if it is I may move to England. My opinion is ZL1 is a better built car so who cares how much more HP the Cobra has if you can't stay on the road. Plus, how many of us actually have 600 horses?
Isaac CerdaJul 06, 2012 AND THIS GUY HAS A POINT FORD SO MUCH POWER BUT CAN B TOUGH SOMETIMES, I OWN A 2013 MUSTANG AND YES THE SHORT SHIFTING AND SLOW DRIVE IS A BIT TOUGHER THEN THE CAMARO, I DROVE MY BUDDIES ALOT SMOOTHER BUT I STILL THINK THE 13 MUSTANGS ARE AMAZING
Isaac CerdaJul 06, 2012 GLAD THIS VIDEO WAS MADE HOPEFULLY SHUTS UP ALOT OF PEOPLE WHO ARE ANTI MUSCLE CARS AND THINK THEY ARNT GOOD MACHINES.. ID PERFER DRIVING EITHER THEN HAVING A BORING LUXURY GAS SAVING EUROPEAN CAR THAT COST MORE THEN THESE CARS AND HAS HALF THE POWER
Pablo HerasmeJul 06, 2012 I like Camaro too, but I just prefer the power and the stance of the Mustang.
Austin LarkJul 06, 2012 I have always been a die hard Chevy guy but you just can't help but love the sound and power of that mustang. Yeah I like the looks of the Camaro more and always have through the years but that's all personal opinion. Both cars are awesome machines!
Tino Nickolas AlanisJul 06, 2012 Both of these gorgeous machines are absolutely sweeeet!!! If I'm picking one though, it's the shelby. I would have way more fun in it, I want something to scare me :)
Taylor GarryJul 06, 2012 I respect both but as someone said earlier the camaro sucks to be in. Makes you feel tiny
Avery WilliamsJul 06, 2012 If I had to choose which one I'd like, I would have to imagine myself on a long highway trip and see which one is fun to drive going a long distance.
Razor CurtissJul 06, 2012 I want a muscle car to scare me and acasionally make me shit myself and the camaro just doesn't do it I respect it but the mustang is way better looking and more fun to drive. Which is what it's all about isn't it?
Razor CurtissJul 06, 2012 I agree the unbiased European was a great person to do this and the GT500 is still better cus he was driving slow on the track if he tried his best with both cars I'm sure the mustang would win
Kaigan VinerJul 06, 2012 I'm glad an unbiased European reviewed the two. But the GT500 sounds so good
Chris MallinsonJul 06, 2012 Fantastic review as always by chris Harris... Follow him on pistonheads.co.uk
Tim PreisingerJul 06, 2012 I'm a Chevy guy but would still go for the Mustang. I think I would just have more fun with it. I also love to sound of the GT500.
Nick YekikianJul 06, 2012 Screw it... I'll take both for the same price as a GTR
Val BarataJul 06, 2012 Finally someone had a good opinion of the zr1 vs the gt500 XD a muscle car is supposed to be crude, scare you, make you wonder if your getting out of it today. Which mustangs do much better. Who cares which goes around a corner?? ;)
Brady FeredayJul 06, 2012 And F driving in New York City I would get frustrated and want to punch an elephant lol
Brady FeredayJul 06, 2012 Challys are nice cars they just need to lose weight
Patrick SchalkJul 06, 2012 Challys aren't pieces of shit. They are great cars. Obviously I'm already biased but MRC and an LS drivetrain. I'm taking the Z
Hunter WolfeJul 06, 2012 Hahaha challengers..... Pieces of shit=O go CAMARO!!
John SerelyJul 06, 2012 the mustang. I do give the camaro credit, though, it's a truly awesome car!
John SerelyJul 06, 2012 For me, I'd take the mustang, I prefer it's looks, and love the sheer power of it. Sure, the zl1 handles better, but if wanted a good handling car that's fast, I'd take a cayman s for the money. That being said, if I want a powerful car, I'll take
William DownsJul 06, 2012 challenger srt8 cant stand up against these, its outclassed on every level
Zeus MochaJul 06, 2012 The beast and the snake. Both cars look amazing and perform great. I wish I could have both. ZL1 for first pick though
Matt PiccoloJul 06, 2012 I would take the gt500..it looks better and unlike the camaro, U CAN SEE OUT OF THE DAMN THING lol I've been in a camaro and it made me feel like I was 4 foot and could barely see outta the car... But then I realized it wasn't me that was the problem
Barry Boo WilsonJul 06, 2012 It couldn't keep up to make it to the shoot. SRT needs to step it up.
Mark A. YoungJul 06, 2012 I'm tired of all these articles featuring just the mustang gt500 and the camaro zl1, where's the challenger SRT8?
William DownsJul 06, 2012 plus id reather have a car thats easy to drive day to day.. but i do give that stang it props thing is crazy
William DownsJul 06, 2012 na thats personal opinion... i think the camaro looks better then the stang
Carlton SalmonJul 06, 2012 Given the choice and being a Brit I'd go for the Camaro.

Shane HeidJul 10, 2012 Your right of they were racing the camaro would be two seconds in front, not just a hundred feet
Matthew CrightonJul 09, 2012 You can tell they aren't racing... Because the camaro is in front.
Matt PiccoloJul 07, 2012 I find this funny cuz I find the back of the camaro a lot more attractive than the front but everyone else is opposite... I don't seem to like cars where the headlights are behind (older muscle cars) or in (current camaro, chally) the grill
Zeus MochaJul 06, 2012 It's okay, let it all out. It gets people raging haha. Anyways the Camaro's back is ugly. But IMO the front looks killer with the splitter, stacked fogs and the ECF mohawk.
Jack HigginsJul 06, 2012 I think it's ugly all around. Obviously that's just my opinion. Not that it matters to anyone.
Abraham MendozaJul 06, 2012 The camaro does look a bit...ugly from the back but I still love it.
Eric AlcantarJul 06, 2012 Naaah not from all angles.
Austin JobesJul 06, 2012 nahh, the mustang is amazing from all angles.
Kaigan VinerJul 06, 2012 GT500 looks better from behind but the ZL1 looks a tad bit better in the front
