Description: When McLaren Automotive launched a year ago with the MP4-12C coupe, enthusiasts of high-performance supercars knew it was only a matter of time until the boys from Woking would chop off its top and cr...Add Comments3
Miko ReginellaJul 05, 2012 @bob OH NO! IT'S GOING TO GET TO 60 IN .12986 MORE SECONDS! NOOOOOOOOO
Kevin ClarkJul 03, 2012 3 peice hard top!!! Thats my shit right there!
Description: To transform the 12C, McLaren contracted Webasto - the same German outfit that crucially tiled the trick roof on the McLaren's target: the Ferrari 458 Spider. The result is the thrill of open-air...Add Comments2
Dan RuthJul 03, 2012 Car and driver actually got a 2.9 sec 0-60 in the coupe
Phillip HolbrookJul 03, 2012 Those numbers are really impressive.
Description: The roof can also be raised or lowered while moving at up to 19 mph. The 12C Spider can hit 196 mph with the roof down and 204 mph with it up. Don't expect that ideal to come cheap, though: prici...Add Comments12
Jake MarraJul 04, 2012 Caint wait untill Hennessy Performance gets there hands on this one
Mike CasseltonJul 04, 2012 Maury, I can't afford any of these cars either. However, if I wanted to read about "affordable" cars I would go elsewhere and leave this site the way it is.
Kelun WangJul 03, 2012 You gotta have a dream right? Something to look up at. If not i guess your stuck working minimum wage jobs stuck in a trailer driving a beater to work everyday.
Kris C. LopezJul 05, 2012 I never liked convertible/open top conversions of supercars but this and the Veyron gs are the only exceptions
Nigel CravenJul 04, 2012 I want one of these so bad I'm seriously considering putting the kids on eBay!!
Stefan G. WhittakerJul 04, 2012 I'm about as critical of a person as they come, but I'm speechless. Bar none...McLaren now manufactures the sexiest car on the planet. Tip of the Hat to McLaren on a job very well done.
Kris C. LopezJul 05, 2012 @ghee if you read the article it said that McLaren contacted the same people who had their hand in the roof design of the 458
Antonio RamthunJul 04, 2012 IMO this car look much better than the 458. Perfection
tysquirrel10s Jul 03, 2012 @ dan it is so it will protect the driver in case of a roll over
Louis Ramon CortezJul 03, 2012 I'm not a fan of convertibles, but I love this one.
Dan LaBrunaJul 03, 2012 Is it just me or does it seem like it's front windshield is much more elongated than in other spiders?
Ghee ButtersnapsJul 03, 2012 Looks amazing! But looks like they stole ferraris folding roof design and added a clear engine cover
americanmuscleJul 03, 2012 I don't like how they make it look happy
Samuel BonordenJul 03, 2012 I've never been a big fan of this car
Kasey CookJul 03, 2012 @bold cars. It looks long because the driver is tiny.
Kevin Jugelz PooeJul 03, 2012 This car was meant to be a convertible
Steven NevetsJul 03, 2012 I agree... Looks way better than the coupe. I'm digging the different color (carbon fiber?) panel in the side intake too.
Dillon MageeJul 03, 2012 That is amazing. Mclaren did a great job with this. Looks better than the coupe.
Avery WilliamsJul 03, 2012 @boldcars Well since it is a hardtop convertible, I would think it would be slightly longer.
Sebastian GreyJul 03, 2012 How is having the exhaust come out of the middle of the rear fascia conservative?
Paul DickeyJul 03, 2012 Well that's unfair to compare buying the f1 to buying this.
Randy HjelmJul 03, 2012 Not sure just know that these cars are not my favorite... They are just lacking something I think their design was too conservative they needed to make it represent mclaren... Not a grandpa sports car company. Still would by the old F1 over it anyday
Wyatt GordonJul 03, 2012 It looks much better as a spider than as a coupe. Here, it actually looks full of emotion. As a coupe, its just boring to look at
boldcarsJul 03, 2012 is it just me or does the top down give the appearance of the car looking really long?
Edmond GebaraJul 03, 2012 Hey guys, I was lucky enough to test drive this beast a few weeks back ( friend of ours works for car middle east)... Unfortunately there's no soul in this car... Whatsoever... Hate to say it but it's pure function over emotion...
@bob OH NO! IT'S GOING TO GET TO 60 IN .12986 MORE SECONDS! NOOOOOOOOO
And more durable
I'm sooo glad they went with the retractable hardtop, I think they are a lot better than soft tops
