G-Tech Chops Abarth 500 into 350HP Sportster

The Italian hatch has been given a dose of German refinement.

German tuning outfit G-Tech decided the Fiat 500 Abarth's low roof should be lower and its small windows smaller. The result is the G-Tech Sportster with a roof lowered by 14cm, a revised front fascia and new alloys. The interior is enhanced with carbon-fiber trim and two sports seats. Under the hood, G-Tech proposes three different engine tunes: two homologated for road use and one for the track.

The base 230CV variant upgrades the 1.4-liter engine to 230 horsepower and 243 lb-ft of torque. That additional 70 hp comes from adding a G-Tech INOX Le Mans exhaust system with electronically-operated exhaust valves. An 'R' variant of the same car comes with bigger wheel arches, an adjustable rear wing, and a power output of 260 hp and 258 lb-ft of torque. Finally the track version, dubbed the Sportster GT/R, boasts a 2.0-liter engine with 350 hp and 332 lb-ft of torque, as well as a dual clutch transmission and spoiler specially designed for competition use.
