It costs around $800,000 to produce this car if I'm not mistaken and it goes for $350,000-$400,000. Lexus is losing money making this car. This car is an engineers masterpiece. It's made only to show off what Toyota/Lexus is capable of doing.
Hands down the best engine sound I've ever heard, from a street car. I got to watch Tanner thrash an lfa while they filmed top gear at the half moon bay airport, and all I can say is I'd pay the 400 grand to hear that sound everyday!
Zachary the "debate" was amusing at best. Plus you can't deny rattling the cage isn't fun sometimes. lol
But the Lexus is marketed as a luxury car... No denying that you'd have to have some pretty deep pockets to get a hold of an LFA.
I'd say your still pretty exclusive to have a ZR1, I've never seen one. And I live in Vegas, I see Lambos, Ferrari's, Aston Martins and Bentleys weekly. Usually at the outdoor shopping mall.
Matt the ZR1 gets better brakes, suspension system, more carbon fibre, and better dynamics, not just a supercharger.
ZR1 is for people that want to go like hell and only go like hell. LFA is for people that want to go fast while experiencing luxury and exclusivity. They're two different cars for different people. Neither is overpriced. It's all about preference.
Regardless of what all of this means the new viper is going to destroy both the lfa and zr1. End of story.
Better to compare the acr to tha lfa than tha zr1 which wasn't really meant for tha 'ring.
But idk... U do have a good point in a way... I've just always thought it wasn't well rounded for the price due to the cheap ass interior... Like cars like the mustang and 370z have nicer interiors for heaven sakes
Found in a 35k car... Wit the Audi, ur also getting a new engine, same wit some of the Astons as well as better brakes, tires etc. Not just an add on to the engine (supercharger) and some handling upgrades
@ brian... But with the others, your getting more than just performance upgrades for their prices when u pay for the higher end models.. They're upgraded all round.. The 110k zr1 still has the Same cheap interior from a 50k car, that shouldn't be

LFA doesn't even have dual clutch--shift times are terrible. 0-60 is slowest in its class. Concept car looked way better. Interior looks stupid. LFA is the most overrated car of all time.
I understand the bad interior of the Vette because it still has to be a Vette all the way to the base Vette which costs $50,000. They can't change EVERYTHING on the ZR1 because it wouldn't be a Vette and it'd cost way more.
It's not even close to as exclusive ( I see vettes very day) and if u can't except the lfa for what it is, or at the price it is for why u get, then leave!

The zr1 is just a high performance version of a lower priced vett. In the end it's still a vett. Look at the interior of a regular vett and a zr1. Any major differences? It's still the same interior. The point is the zr1 is still a vett with
concrete factors such as material costs, production quantity, and cost of development do. I would pay 400,000$ for a Hyundai if it contained unprecedented engineering and an engine to die for.

Dissect both cars and look at the materials used in them then come back and tell me if the lfa is still overpriced.
Y is the lfa overpriced? R&d is expensive. Vett has been around for yrs. Chevy already has the foundation and all they do is change this and that and add a few new tech here and there. The lfa is the 1st of its kind for Lexus.
Draw those looks too, but we know nothing about the brands reliability, Toyota as we know has great reliability, and gets on recalls fast, the zr1, well just looks like a regular vette with a plexiglass hood and chrome wheels, but all 3 cars r great.
If Jordan is like Connor a couple weeks ago, but you have to remember that this is a LIMITED run car, the zr1 is not, I see zr1s all the time, and the lfa only once, the lfa is well worth the extra money for exclusivity and looks, the mclaren can..
The vette isn't over priced whatsoever, $110,000 for a car that's as fast as a $350,000 car? What should it cost? Anywho, yeah the car is pretty expensive, but it sounds great, its got a Carbon Fiber woven chassis, and a engineering marvel. But I hear its scarry to drive. I just wish it costs less.

i dont know why it turned into a debate, i clearly stated it was my opinion not a fact, but some corvette fan boy had to take personal offense to it, personally i dont like the looks of the mclarren all that much, good car just not my taste. but to me this car is one of the best looking supercars out at the moment and the sound is just pure lust

And if you're going to call it the best next to the Agera, you forgot that the McLaren MP4-12C is faster, more power full, and more fuel efficient for much less money
well like i said.. imo, i think this looks 10x better then the vett, its faster around the track and sound a million times better, i like the vette dont get me wrong its a great car, but if the only negative u have on the car is " over priced toyota " then u just look retarded cause this car is an eginering marvel and there is nothing wrong with this car besides the price, and i would happily pay ...
At the end of the day people will see a zr1 as a corvette but an lfa as something else

There are some great engines out there. The bottom line is that this is one of them.
Best supercar? Lol. Not even close. I can buy 3 ZR1's for the price if 1 LFA and be happier with the looks and heritage behind the car and just as fast. The ZR1 goes 0-60 in 3.3. The LFA is 3.4. And ZR1 sounds 10x better. LFA = overpriced Toyota.
I would rank it as the number 1 naturally aspirated super car in the world. That 4.8L V10 is unprecedented.
