Another example of modern design that only looks new, and has no classic beauty. Ugly big mouth-like too many others these days. The thing will look dated in a few years. Too many car designs these days where all you can say is that it looks modern. Who will want it in even 5 years?
Paul Goodwin Dec 01, 2012
It has potential. But it definitely needs work to "cool" it
Eric Dare Jul 27, 2012
If this is their flagship model, they should make the V16 engine an option
Povilas Mikulevicius Jul 27, 2012
At least GM is doing something and Ford (Lincoln) is doing shit.
Miguel Jimenez Jul 27, 2012
@Robert you're right.
Samuel TheGentleman Harris II Jul 27, 2012
I will pass GM is basically building a fleet wood. Caddy needs to make the XTS it's flagship. Lexus, Benz, and BMW has it locked up. Well it may compete against the Hyundai Equus
Robert Young Jul 27, 2012
I don't think you spell Cadillac w/two D's buddy.
Miguel Jimenez Jul 27, 2012
@Wyatt you know nothing about Caddilac, if you think they shouldn't be making cars like this.
Tim Preisinger Jul 26, 2012
Wyatt, you speak as if saying Ferrari being "the best car company ever" was a fact rather the opinion. Go back to watching top gear. P.S. Anytime someone says "rubbish", I can't help but laugh.
Wyatt Gordon Jul 26, 2012
@brad, exactly. unless youre a brand thats already exclusive and full of pedigree, like the best car company ever (Ferrari), then you simply cant do this sort of rubbish
Rich Hall Jul 26, 2012
This car looks awesome
Brad Wood Jul 26, 2012
Schedule this for the CarBuzz article of "ultimate automotive fails" for 2021, an continuation of the current series they are running. How quickly a company forgets that low margin, low production cars will put you into bankruptcy. History repeats...
Miguel Jimenez Jul 26, 2012
Here comes David and John to ruin everyone happiness. Fanboys SMH
Hektor Yberg Jul 26, 2012
@David actually there are selling more cadillacs then before.
Joshua Adams Jul 26, 2012
With the next S Class coming soon, there will be no competition. Even when it's the benchmark it's hard to beat, or even impossible to overcome. I think it's the only one in the segment worth cross shopping against a Bentley or smaller Rolls Royce.
David Pires-Ihsaan Jul 26, 2012
Lincoln and buick are getting decimated.. I agree with colby.
David Justice Jul 26, 2012
'destroying the competition', 'on top right now'? maybe in the American luxury category, then yes. I don't see it trumping much anywhere else.
John Serely Jul 26, 2012
@colby destroying the competition? Um...no, not at all
David Pires-Ihsaan Jul 26, 2012
Now if they makw the Ciel, Cien, and Sixteen... It will be one of my favorite companies.... Too bad that might never happen.
Dylan Bruder Jul 26, 2012
That said I'm stoked I've been waiting for them to get the green on this Cadillac can now make something like the sixteen
Dylan Bruder Jul 26, 2012
No the xts pretty much fills the gap where the dts and sts left off its just a large comfortable sedan not really directly aimed at competing with anything
Colby Church Jul 26, 2012
Woohoo! Go Cadillac! Haha. No, but seriously, Cadillac has really stepped their game up the past few years and I think that they are on top right now and they are destroying the competition at everything they used to do best. Thumbs up GM.
Jordan Smith Jul 26, 2012
I thought the XTS was supposed to compete with those sedans?
Donal Romano Aug 02, 2012
Loooooovvvvveeee this!
Ty Piper Jul 29, 2012
I think oriental people should drive oxen honestly
Miguel Jimenez Jul 26, 2012
The new NSX is far from "ORIGINAL" it's just another hybrid tird.
Bijan Jahanpanah Jul 26, 2012
The NSX is not "origanal" in any way or at least the new one isn't
John Francis Jul 26, 2012
Wow, it looks pretty "in your face" without looking desperate for attention, if that makes sense. Cadillac has a winner right here. And this is coming from an Infiniti/Mercedes guy.
Tim Preisinger Jul 26, 2012
I think it looks awesome. I'm really looking forward to the xts too.
Logan LeMonnier Jul 26, 2012
@connor agreed haha. I really don't see the ugliness. I've always wondered why they don't make a car that literally looks just like this. With the proper engine I would buy this exact car over any BMW or Mercedes. The styling is almost Incredible
David Justice Jul 26, 2012
I'd take the NSX over this.
Matt Piccolo Jul 26, 2012
@ Miguel... Uh no... This thing is Absoloutely hideous.... I wouldn't care what badge was on it... And Patrick, just cuz it's origional, doesn't mean it looks good... And The nsx is pretty darn origional Patrick!
Andrew Della Foresta Jul 26, 2012
Looks like the spyder model of the cadilac sixteen
Theviper007 Jul 26, 2012
I like the xlr better
Alexander Gomez Jul 26, 2012
I love the way it looks like a resto-mod of an old caddy but with a 22nd century feel.
Thibault Leroy Jul 26, 2012
looks amazing i love it
Abraham Mendoza Jul 26, 2012
You're right, he'd say its organic.
Miguel Jimenez Jul 26, 2012
I'm sure if this had an Acura badge or Lexus badge he would be all over it!
Colin Dzendolet Jul 26, 2012
absolutely gorgeous
Abraham Mendoza Jul 26, 2012
It looks great, Cadillac is really improving these days.
Jackson Rojas Jul 26, 2012
isn't this the Cadillac ciel
Aaron Crisp Jul 26, 2012
Matt just go stick with Acura and Lexus...
Jordan Jackson Jul 26, 2012
Looks alright from this angle
noah collins Jul 26, 2012
this is a sweet looking ride
Timothy Hooker Jul 26, 2012
this is a beautiful car...the lines are flawless.
Jo´┐Żl Nijsten Jul 26, 2012
Deemn, if you park that in front of your house.....
John Serely Jul 26, 2012
Haha Patrick your right
Patrick Schalk Jul 26, 2012
Look more original than anything else out. *Cough NSX cough*
Greg Lewis Jul 26, 2012
Ok GM, you may be on to something, don't screw it up...
Mitchell Cherry Jul 26, 2012
Looks like the 16
Matt Piccolo Jul 26, 2012
Oh god! I think this may be one of the ugliest cars I've ever seen... Ew! O.O
Henz Herrero Jul 26, 2012
It doesnt look too bad but i dnt think this shud be a face for a flagship sedan..
Robert Aarstad Jul 26, 2012
Its truly a car that's in your face. I liked it at first, then I hated ut and now I love it again! Absolutely has to be marketed right and flawless design to sell.
John Serely Jul 26, 2012
I love the Ciel concept. It looks great in person
Connor Garrett Koerbitz Jul 26, 2012
I love it! Saw it at the auto show, it is breath taking honestly

@adam ehh second or third
Adam Wieland Jul 26, 2012
I would say Audi is the second biggest competition they have and they aren't even listed
Description: Other models in the pipeline include ATS coupe and convertible variants in 2014, a large crossover using an upgraded version of the Lambda platform in 2015, a new Escalade SUV in the latter half of 20...

That's already released and in dealerships/ on the road
Ferrari Italia Jul 26, 2012
What about the xts?
Paul Stalker Jan 13, 2013
This design rocks!
Nick Pietropaolo Jul 26, 2012
I think this looks very sporty but sophisticated and I really can't understand how ppl think this is ugly.but I will say that hood is way to huge to b putting in a v6 .iy would look empty as hell in there
Wyatt Gordon Jul 26, 2012
@logan, precisely
Logan LeMonnier Jul 26, 2012
It will never look like this. If it did I would stop hating GM. They don't understand that people want a car that looks like this.
Jordan Smith Jul 26, 2012
I think this is meant more to compete with the CL65 or even the Phantom Coupe.
Dillon Magee Jul 26, 2012
I think it looks really good. I think it would be cool if they made a V version to compete with the S65.
Tara Fitria Jul 26, 2012
I can see huge demand for this in the middle east
Jordan Jackson Jul 26, 2012
In the front at least
Jordan Jackson Jul 26, 2012
I feel like this is use the retro styling language of the prowler, in a Cadillac body, not sure if I like it
Stephen Wicoff Jul 26, 2012
Love the front. Looks way different from anything else on the road. And rich people would buy this; they like having a presence on the road.
Greg Lewis Jul 26, 2012
If it was affordable, it would sell like wildfire. Think about when Chrysler did their retro start up, prowler/cruiser/ram/viper changes... People like different.
Jordan Smith Jul 26, 2012
I like it. It's like a huge luxury grand tourer.
Cody Fullerton Jul 26, 2012
While I'm not sure about the headlights, I really like the overall shape of a car. With some toned down design features it would look great
Matt Piccolo Jul 26, 2012
This is not appealing at all!!! It's different for sure... But, not in a good way IMO
Lead Peddalin Jul 26, 2012
It's different. I'll give them credit for that. I don't see it selling much though.
Paul Lissona Jul 28, 2012
I like the shArp long edges on this car. For A Cadillac like this it makes sense.
Dustin Choate Jul 27, 2012
That ass is so sexy!
Eric Anthony Jul 27, 2012
Did you not read tha article Tom, omega is tha new platform.
Abraham Mendoza Jul 27, 2012
Tom your ignorance amuses me.
Tom Heth Jul 27, 2012
Wow, somebody glued some extra parts on a Corvette again.
Logan LeMonnier Jul 26, 2012
@justin if you don't like something that's fine just don't keep repeating yourself. And the back doesn't look as good as the front
Scott Lenahan Jul 26, 2012
THAT has some style!! Love or hate it, you can't deny it's gone away from the boring German approach and has injected some flare and personality.
Thibault Leroy Jul 26, 2012
wait is this a hard or soft top?
Alan Baars Jul 26, 2012
I like the front, but the center line 'seam' along the back end kinda ruins it.
Jason Dowling Jul 26, 2012
Such an awesome looking car! Love the American retro direction. It's smart business to- could you imagine a retro styled Honda based on a 1980 Civic styling? LOL!
Carlton Sofocusedon Green Jul 26, 2012
Dont really like the trunk. Reminds me of the acura TL
Jay Kolvenbag Jul 26, 2012
I think it's ugly, it's like cadillac cant make flowing and round shapes, only sharp edges
Abraham Mendoza Jul 26, 2012
I love that angle. It's pretty.
Justin Brest Jul 26, 2012
Personally I loooove the interior but the rest of the car I'm still on the fence about. Its so different its hard to gauge.
Justin Brest Jul 26, 2012
matt and anyone else is allowed to give his opinion.
Duncan Jolley Jul 26, 2012
@Matt, we get it you don't like it. You don't have to post on every picture that its ugly.
Greg Lewis Jul 26, 2012
Like the back. Think the "elongated" look like the 50's is what draws me in.
Matt Piccolo Jul 26, 2012
Back is definitely Better than the front... But it's not that great
Zach Pate Jul 26, 2012
I like the back, still on the fence about the front though.
Tim Preisinger Jul 27, 2012
Ryan, IF your implying that the CTS V is a tiny plastic sports car... The I'll take a tiny plastic sports car any day.
Ryan Sansossio Jul 26, 2012
I agree with jason. Finaly caddi is going back to its roots instead of these tiny plastic sportscars. I drive a deville myself, 97.
Rocky Rocker Jul 26, 2012
Nice..., end of story
Jason Davis Jul 26, 2012
Finally a Caddi that looks like a "Caddi". My Dad had a 71 and I loved that BOAT.
Darren Nardo Jul 26, 2012
I see a lot of cues from Eldorodos past !!!
David Pires-Ihsaan Jul 26, 2012
Anyone else see the phaeton concept in this?
Craig Lafey Jul 26, 2012
That is really nice. Badass
Ian Barger Jul 26, 2012
This car would be so fun!
Logan LeMonnier Jul 26, 2012
I wonder if they would ever sell this as a hardtop convertible. A glass roof at least would be impressive
Jordan Jackson Jul 26, 2012
I think they should make the space in between the tail lights flat instead of pointed
Bobby Mccracken Jul 26, 2012
Looks similar to the '68 Eldorado. Love it.
John M Weishahn Jul 26, 2012
They might have to shoot another season of Entourage just to film the title sequence in this car.
Dillon Dixon Jul 26, 2012
Could you imagine cruising down the highway with 3 of your friends with the top down. That sounds like an epic roadtrip to me.
Cesar Calvo Jul 26, 2012
Can't wait for the Mary Kay version! Lol
Danny Reed Aug 14, 2012
They can fit an airbag in the steering wheel?
Wyatt Gordon Jul 27, 2012
@logan, that would sort of put them into Rolls-Royce territory, which, unless its as good as a Roller, would be a bad thing
Trey Villarreal Jul 26, 2012
The concept must be designed for a demographic with a specific height, seeing as though the seat appears mounted to the floor.
Trey Villarreal Jul 26, 2012
The concept must be designed for a demographic with a specific height, seeing as though the seat appears mounted to the floor.
Logan LeMonnier Jul 26, 2012
Suicide doors would be really unique but I've heard there's a reason why they don't do them. don't remember though
Matt Piccolo Jul 26, 2012
Wow! Wish the rest of this car was this nice! Sick interior
Zach Pate Jul 26, 2012
I believe so, Abraham. But I don't think this is too concerned about the aerodynamics.
Tin Nguyen Jul 26, 2012
Where can I get these seat?
Miguel Jimenez Jul 26, 2012
Even the pedals are nicely detailed.
Abraham Mendoza Jul 26, 2012
Isn't there a problem with suicide doors, like the air seeping in causing Aero issues?
Chris Gaines Jul 26, 2012
the interiors great... until you crash and that shelf blade beheads your passenger lol
Jordan Jackson Jul 26, 2012
That's not necessarily a bad thing, I think his is an awesome interior
Phillip Greene Jul 26, 2012
first time i saw the inside of this i got a huge halo elite shrine vibe from it
Greg Lewis Jul 26, 2012
Suicide doors... Think it was the concept chrysler phantom that had them also ( that was a great concept ) but no one ever follows through with em....
