I own a 2009 Acura TSX and I love wouldn't trade it in for anything. That being said once my TSX is paid off I plan on getting a BMW M3. Never been a fan of American auto, but the ATS looks good but the M3 is a better car hands down.
John Serely Jul 23, 2012
I completely agree, Brian.
Shaun Conroy Jul 22, 2012
One of the best ads I've seen in awhile. Love it!
Patrick Schalk Jul 22, 2012
Damn there's a whole lot of stoopid on this page.
Jason Brown Jul 22, 2012
Freaking just use real leather! So if you want all real leather get a Lexus or caddy.
Jason Brown Jul 22, 2012
Softer test driving the CTS I expect the ATS to be more nimble and handle better around the corners. Can't wait to see how she drive. As for the new 3 series.. Maehh. The interior quality certainly has dropped over the past ones.
Kyle Smith Jul 22, 2012
Cadillac's been turning it around recently in the past few years. The segment's has a lot of contenders though so grabbing says from BMW and Audi owners is no easy task.
Alanda Burroughs Jul 22, 2012
Awesome AD campaign. I'm looking forward to seeing if Caddy can deliver on it's mission. Should be a nice, refreshing change in the mid-size luxury car market.
Tim Preisinger Jul 22, 2012
I'll never understand what people see in the 3 series. I drove one. The interior is bland as hell, seats weren't comfortable, didn't care for the feeling of the steering wheel, and the pedals vibrated. Car was only 2 years old too
Miguel Jimenez Jul 21, 2012
@Logan I didn't ask you if you drove the CTS. Keep in mind that this is a whole different platform from the CTS, it's lighter, smaller, and has MRC as standard.
Logan LeMonnier Jul 21, 2012
@miguel I've driven the new cts and 3 series. The 3 series is still a more refined car. That's what BMWs are. Will the new ats be a solid competitor? Probably but I doubt it will overtake it.
Stephen Wicoff Jul 21, 2012
The Cadillacs just have a softer ride.
Stephen Wicoff Jul 21, 2012
@Matt, I know what you mean. The BMW has a grippier ride, you can feel the rode more and steering seems more responsive. That's how all European cars seem to be. In Cadillacs, you can't feel the road as much and the steering is mushy.
Tim Preisinger Jul 21, 2012
It's going to take alot to change the minds of people who are comfortable with the BMW name. But given time I think Cadillac can do it. I have driven alot of BMWs and I have not been impressed. As long as people have open minds, Cadillac will do fine
Paul Lissona Jul 21, 2012
What's the problem with me respecting that an ats might be better in some ways, but I appreciate the German feel in the bmws more? I'm part German too ha so, is that another problem?
John Serely Jul 21, 2012
@justin I do agree with the first part of your comment, though. I would get a used 5 series or e class for that amount of money, or even an 07 s550!
John Serely Jul 21, 2012
@justin now THAT was a stupid comment lol. The cts is bought mostly by target managers? No! Nice try though, dumbass! 3 series driven by young girls? No! I've seen more girls drive a4's and c classes combined than girls driving 3's. Again, nice try!
Matt Piccolo Jul 21, 2012
@ dillin, the "German feel" thing, in a way is a reason to pick the car, German cars just feel ... Well idk how to describe it but good... My mom has an 06 passat and although I hate it appearance wise, it again has that German feel and it's great
Dillon Dixon Jul 21, 2012
@matt I respect that. How you worded sounded very ignorant, though. All good.
Matt Piccolo Jul 21, 2012
Geuss looking back I could have worded that differently, but that's what I meant... I like bmw's more than caddy's in general
Matt Piccolo Jul 21, 2012
@ dillin, srry if I misunderstood, but i don't think the 3 series is better "because" it has a BMW badge, I like it for multiple reasons over the ats, but if I had to choose, I would rather a BMW over a caddy in general, that was more my point and I
Justin Brest Jul 21, 2012
tell you the truth, I wouldn't buy either! the 3 series is a car that daddy gives his daughter when she graduates college and if this ats is anything like a cts then its for people who think they have "made it" being a manager at target.
Justin Brest Jul 21, 2012
John, your a bitch.
Dillon Dixon Jul 21, 2012
Thank you Miguel for backing me up. Also, caddy and BMW weren't direct competitors like they are now. And the concept of "German Feel" is a great reason to pick the 3 series. Not.
Miguel Jimenez Jul 21, 2012
Logan you guys are already picking the 3series over the ATS. Have you ever driven the ATS?
Logan LeMonnier Jul 21, 2012
@miguel maybe because it's a better car to drive? For a long time that's why people bought bmws over caddys. Maybe the new ats will change that but Just because someone likes the feel of a BMW doesn't mean theyre stupid lighten up
Miguel Jimenez Jul 21, 2012
BMW fan boys never stop to amaze me. "I pick BMW because of the badge and the German feel", do you guys know how stupid that sounds?
Kyle McCullough Jul 21, 2012
Do it intelligently. Moving on, I feel like the ATS is a fresh new competitor and that BMW dropped the ball on the 3-series styling, but it's still a good car
Kyle McCullough Jul 21, 2012
You all need to grow up, big time. I am very partial to Cadillacs, but I can respect BMW. I think the ATS is a good continuation of Cadillac moving up in the world. You are all acting like childish morons. Defending an opinion is fine, but please
John Serely Jul 21, 2012
@justin that's what I thought... @dillon ok your fixed comment is better lol. And no, for me the badge does not matter as much as the car, but I'd rather drive a bimmer than a caddy.
Paul Lissona Jul 21, 2012
BMW is usually my favorite brand, even if the ats is better in some way, I'd rather have the BMW for its German feel etc.
Dillon Dixon Jul 21, 2012
@logan Not exactly my point. I see what you are saying though. They are saying that it is better because of the badge on it. Anyone can put a badge on a car, but that doesn't make it better.
Logan LeMonnier Jul 21, 2012
@dillon so the make of the car has nothing to do with how you choose? If someone wants the prestige of owning a BMW let them have it. BMW earned the right to having a well known badge
Jay Kolvenbag Jul 21, 2012
At some pieces you can clearly see that they sped up to make it look like the car was going faster, but the car is pretty nice, I think it's better looking than the CTS
Henz Herrero Jul 21, 2012
I agree with matt.. Its not ignorance that you want a certain badge over something.. Its called preference.. I dk how u got ignorance from that..
Dillon Dixon Jul 21, 2012
Ignorance is comparing the badges instead of the actual cars. I agree, I could've worded my comment better. How about, I hope this stomps on the 3 series. Happy?
Matt Piccolo Jul 21, 2012
I feel this won't beat the 3 series but the a4 has always been the next closest thing, and I think this will give the a4 some good competition for 2nd in the class, but the a4 was recently redesigned so we'll have to see
Dillon Dixon Jul 21, 2012
@john Do you want an example of ignorance? Look at Matt's comment: "what would you rather.... A caddy badge or a BMW badge." I'm sorry, I didn't know I drive the badge. You drive the car not the badge.
John Serely Jul 21, 2012
Oh, and I did state my own opinion, Justin, just not on this page/video lol, nice try though!!
John Serely Jul 21, 2012
So nice job being a dick. Try reading his whole comment instead of just the first sentence, then maybe it'll make sense to someone like you hahaha
John Serely Jul 21, 2012
@justin ok, now you made yourself look like a complete dumbass. You said all he said was that it is great. You obviously did not read his comment. He said that it will stomp all over the 3.
Stephen Wicoff Jul 21, 2012
They're beauties. The BMW is nice, but I've driven one and they aren't things to rage about. Interior quality in the BMW has fallen drastically; so much plastic. Cad's competition comes from people who want a badge over true luxury.
Dylan Bruder Jul 21, 2012
The new 3 series looks ugly in my opinion and I'd love to see some new life brought into the segment everyone doubted the cts at first too now it's the ats' turn to shock the world
Justin Brest Jul 21, 2012
Annny way... I like a good ol' BMW, don't get me wrong, but I really like the Cady so far. I think American car quality is coming back to be something we can be proud of. With out aiming to beat the best how will you ever be the best. Will it beat the 3 series the first or second year? ofcourse not but 5,6 or 7 years from now? hopefully... I do like the looks more then BMW's
Justin Brest Jul 21, 2012
@ john, your a dick. the only thing Dillon said is that this car is going to be great. (I hope he's right) all you did, John, is jump all over him, call him ignorant (obviously you don't know what that word means) and try to shoot down his opinion with quoting OTHER peoples opinion. next time you have an "opinion" on a car call up car and driver and ask if you can cup the editors balls as he jacks...
Zain Sheikh Jul 21, 2012
I love BMW's my cousin has an 08 M3 and 09 M6 but i still like this car alot but I don't it's gonna take down 3 series so fast . 3 series sales are unrivaled nobody can take it down in sales
John Serely Jul 21, 2012
Haha dillon, I love your ignorance. Have you driven the car? Have you even read any reviews? I totally agree with Matt and Curtis
Carlos Eduardo Gaviria Jul 21, 2012
The world is an always changing place and empires fall...the ATS has a really good chance on taking on the 3 series but it's not gonna be an easy task. It could be a better product than the BMW but the hardest thing to do its change the people's mind
Matt Piccolo Jul 21, 2012
And I know I'm gunna get yelled at for this and it'll most likely start a big argument, but really, what would u rather, a caddy badge, or a BMW badge?... BMW please
Matt Piccolo Jul 21, 2012
Srry but this car will never beat the 3-series... 3 series looks so much better, inside and out, has "that" German feel to it, and I don't thing BMW would let the 3 series loose its crown like "that" they wouldn't let it happen easily!
Henz Herrero Jul 21, 2012
I dnt get it.. Why wud anyone buy this if they can get a proven and im assuming better cts for 2 grand more.. They shudve priced it at high 20s instead of 33..
Jordan Smith Jul 21, 2012
I read somewhere that the ATS is capable of having a Corvette engine fit under the hood but I'd assume that they will just put a twin turbo V6. The Corvette engine would be awesome though.
Phillip Fitchew Jul 21, 2012
You're right. But it seems the ATS is as equipped as you can be to take the fight to the 3 series. And have we heard anything about a possible ATS-V or something of the like?
Bull Dogone Jul 21, 2012
Not so fast. There's no easy way to say this: BMW fanboys border on brainwashed cult status and they associate a Cadillac with grandpa and won't accept an American car as being class leading anything based on a decades long predisposed reputation.
Dillon Dixon Jul 21, 2012
This car is gonna be so great! It's going to stomp on the 3 series!!!

Many people forget that Cadillac usually wins out over the Germans in the states if they compete (sales wise). The big issue will be expansion into Europe, especially because there isn't really a brand image for Cadillac over there.
Jason W. Evers Jul 22, 2012
Im just happy I was called a peep
Alanda Burroughs Jul 22, 2012
You peeps must all be 12. Nobody thinks of Caddies as "old people" cars anymore. When was the last time you saw an elderly person drove a CTS-V? And be honest...if you're viewing this app...the only Caddy that matters to you is the CTS-V. And don't even act like MB and BMW doesn't also make cars that attract "more mature" buyers. The new Caddy seems like it'll be just as awesome as the CTS-V, whi...
Paul Lissona Jul 22, 2012
I like the e46 a lot, also the e36 is a great car.
Stephen Tyler Learn Jul 21, 2012
@Tom that's correct because seven years ago BMW did make some of the best driving cars available. But it seems these days that they are just throwing the badge out and chasing sales rather than making the best car that they can
Carlos Eduardo Gaviria Jul 21, 2012
The only amazing thing on this video would be the helicopter flying in that 40+mph winds
Dylan Bruder Jul 21, 2012
This isn't a cruze platform as you guys stated I believe the next camaro comes off this platform too either way I'm very interested to see what this thing can do
Jordan Jackson Jul 21, 2012
Heres the thing, does this look like an old person car? And the looking like the cts part, don't all bmw's look identical too?
Steve Waskiewicz Jul 21, 2012
Oops. Old-person. Erosion??!! Damn auto-correct.
Steve Waskiewicz Jul 21, 2012
I agree. This car is a very noble effort in going against the 3 but the challenge will be perception. Can they, or will they, be able to sell this car as a true, 100% sport sedan without someone raising an eyebrow saying "it's an old-erosion car?"
Walter Alexander Thomas Jul 21, 2012
Nice car but it looks like a new version of a CTS and there is a new CTS coming to market soon that is the only weird thing.
Dillon Dixon Jul 21, 2012
Actually it isn't, bull. This is RWD, and of I'm not mistaken, on a new platform.
Jason W. Evers Jul 21, 2012
I thought this was rear drive...
Bull Dogone Jul 21, 2012
I've seen and been in this car 3 months ago. It is a Chevy Cruze dressed up as a Cadillac. Buick has one called the Verano. I wish the crested nameplate luck on this one.

WTH 33,000 price it below the 3 series, Lexus IS, and C class so people will at least take a glacé at the ATS. You might as will get a CTS
John Serely Jul 22, 2012
@miguel I would love to see a v version, but I would rather see a normal coupe/ convertible first
Miguel Jimenez Jul 21, 2012
The only trim this is missing is the V, I wouldn't mind seeing an LS3 or TTV6 in this, so it could go up against the M3.
John Serely Jul 21, 2012
@miguel ok...point taken. I just want to see a comparison with this, the 3, c class, a4 and...I guess those are the only entry level luxury cars I care about, so just those 4 lol
Matt Piccolo Jul 21, 2012
@ Miguel... 300 pounds less or 70 lb/ft of torque and 60 more hp more? I'll take the extra power and weight
Miguel Jimenez Jul 21, 2012
@John this weighs 300lbs less than the 3series so...
Paul Lissona Jul 21, 2012
Audis look great in every way.
Matt Piccolo Jul 21, 2012
And the a4 is redesigned for 2013
Matt Piccolo Jul 21, 2012
Base a4 has 211hp and 258 lb/ft of torque
John Serely Jul 21, 2012
Hmm...base ATS with 200 horsepower and 188 torque, or base 3 series with 240 horsepower and 260 torque? Um...the bimmer without the smallest of doubts
Bull Dogone Jul 21, 2012
Come on Cadillac, let's be real. Your pricing strategy, unfortunately, also follows BMW (Bring Money With). $33K is for a sewing machine 4 cylinder. Turbo 4 is closer to $40K and top of the line V6 (Camaro engine) is closer to $45K. Just buy a CTS.
Samuel TheGentleman Harris II Jul 27, 2012
It looks like a small XTS I am not feeling just get a CTS
Zaire Wilkins Jul 23, 2012
i know they but they should have made it very different else where cause this and the XTS look the same size
Cody Fullerton Jul 23, 2012
@Zaire Every Audi sedan looks the exact same, just a different size.
Zaire Wilkins Jul 23, 2012
this and the XTS look to much alike
Jordan Smith Jul 22, 2012
I'll also gladly join the idiot club.
Bradley Walter Jul 22, 2012
My partner always tells me I'm "King Idiot" so I'd be right there with ya guys.
Chris Bullock Jul 22, 2012
"club idiot"... sign me up i love this car
Shaun Conroy Jul 22, 2012
I'd buy it, but I have multiple personalities, so count me in for 10 idiots!
Jason Brown Jul 22, 2012
Don't get me wrong the 3 series is a nice car. But the seats are awful! What's with the shifter and the park button on top of the stick? I couldn't get used to the engine turning off every time at a stop. The turbos lag a little especially with AC on
Jason Brown Jul 22, 2012
If this is going to be anywhere as nice as the CTS then I would gladly pick this over the 3 Series.
Stephen Tyler Learn Jul 22, 2012
Make it 4 idiots
Tim Preisinger Jul 22, 2012
@Miguel include me. Guess that's 3 idiots then. :)
Miguel Jimenez Jul 21, 2012
@Dillon I guess we're both idiots then lol.
Dillon Dixon Jul 21, 2012
Well then call me an idiot.
Matt Piccolo Jul 21, 2012
And the base engine, compared to others in it's class is week
Matt Piccolo Jul 21, 2012
@ Mughal, there are lots of things I like about Multiple american cars... There just doesnt seem to be many I like all of... This, I love the interior, but the exterior isn't too appealing to me (for example)
Miguel Jimenez Jul 21, 2012
@Matt when do you ever like ANYTHING about an American car?
Paul Lissona Jul 21, 2012
They won't need this, they have better Audis and bmws.
Miguel Jesús Armitage Jul 21, 2012
Wont sell in europe
Matt Piccolo Jul 21, 2012
I do like this colour a lot more than the red but I'm not a fan of this car.... I've never seemed to like caddy's lights... They all look the same and it's never been a design I was fond of
Josiah Thomas Clements Jul 21, 2012
Nice to see it in a color other than red.
