Its a four door coupe. Its all because of styling.
Kevin Blockley Jul 20, 2012
Because they confused , 4 door 6 series??? , just go back to basics and let Benz and Audi do all the confusing mid way its not a sedan or a coup but in between thing that they doing ,
David Justice Jul 19, 2012
If they did all this, why release a 4-door 6 series?
Grant McHendry Jul 19, 2012
@Mark its not a coupe if its a cabriolet. Its just a two door.
Tyler Paul Jul 19, 2012
so will there be a 428i and a 435i as well that just sounds weird
Dimitris Xristos Alepous Jul 19, 2012
im boring with germans.to many models for what??m3,m4,m5,m6,
Cory Wilhelm Jul 19, 2012
Why did they make a four door six series?
Brandon Lidy Jul 19, 2012
Maybe they want to change it up. I trust BMW knows what they're doing
Kevin Blockley Jul 19, 2012
Can understand with the m6 and the 6 series which was first born as a sporty 2 door 7 series. Where they coming with M4 , doesn't even sound right .Bmw always sets the trend , why copy Audi now. Don't fix what's not broken.
Mark Ifill-Haney Jul 19, 2012
Christian, there is an A4 Cabriolet, which is a coupe.
Kyle Smith Jul 19, 2012
Never mind only the coupe will be the M4 so the RS4 would just compete with the classic M3 sedan. Now all BMW needs is a 2 series and they'll have the numbers 1-7 covered.
Kyle Smith Jul 19, 2012
The 335i has become a M3 in some aspects over the years, they probably want to make a strong distinction between the two cars. The 335i competes with the Audi S4 while the M4 would be squared against the RS4. I still prefer the classic nomenclature.
Daniel Eads Jul 19, 2012
If they have to do this they should have made the coupe the m3. More people buy it as a coupe and they would have a lesser chance of upsetting the m3 fan base.
Christian De Prisco Jul 19, 2012
And there is no comparison between an m3 and an rs5
Jack Howard Jul 19, 2012
I know its stupid that they are changing the name, but the name itself isnt stupid.
Christian De Prisco Jul 19, 2012
I am sorry the a5 from Audi is a different car from a4 and a6 because there was never an a4 or a6 coupe. 3series have been around for decades in coupe and sedan hence the complaint from all of the BMW fans
Paul Lissona Jul 19, 2012
Yah I like hearing three series four sounds weird to BMW enthusiasts like me.
Jack Howard Jul 19, 2012
How does "M4" sound stupid? Its the same thing as M3 but with a 4 but somehow while switching the numbers, it suddenly sounds stupid? And there is already such thing as an M4. The M4 Carbine.
Chris Gaines Jul 19, 2012
I'm going to wait until the sedan comes out, buy a replacement m3 badge, and put it on my new m4! problem solved
John Serely Jul 19, 2012
I agree, Sam. "M4" sounds stupid
Igor Natsioks Jul 19, 2012
Just wait for the 2 series:). Bring back the old 8. create a 9 and you got it all. 1-9
Matt Piccolo Jul 19, 2012
K that's a stupid idea? Why would u do that BMW?
Ghee Buttersnaps Jul 19, 2012
I agree, that's a stupid move.
Skyler Miller Jul 19, 2012
I agree with Sam. The M3 name plate has been around forever in coupe and sedan form so to separate is just stupid
Sam Hansen Jul 19, 2012
It should still be called the M3. Stupid marketing move...
Jack Howard Jul 20, 2012
Its camo dumbass.
Lead Peddalin Jul 20, 2012
I'm not sure about the paint. Try again BMW.
Max Delena Jul 19, 2012
BMW does a good job of disguising their cars
Description: Lacking the flared arches, extended bumpers and diffuser expected on an M model, you'd be excused for thinking these spy shots were of the base coupe, but the quad exhausts setup confirm the test...

Kenneth Williams Jul 21, 2012
Better be an I6. No v6 should be in a Bimmer
Jon Joly Jul 20, 2012
@Zaire the I6 would be considered quicker since its lighter than the v6
Zaire Wilkins Jul 20, 2012
V6 or I6 dosent matter aslong as its quick and performs well
Nick Sti Jul 20, 2012
Why do a throwback to the e46 M3 when the car will be an "M4"? Smh
Grant McHendry Jul 19, 2012
@Daniel its an inline six. I'm pretty sire they're different. and yes they would.(
Brandon Lidy Jul 19, 2012
I think the inline 6 is a great choice. Sound pretty good, gets decent power and decent gas mileage
John Serely Jul 19, 2012
Same here Brian about the v10 sedans. I absolutely loved the prev-gen M5/M6 with the v10 (and the fact you can get them for under 30k lol)
Daniel Eads Jul 19, 2012
Please, v6 on the table? There wasn't a chance in the world they would go with a v6.
Aislin Cooper Jul 19, 2012
If it had been a v6 I would have been very upset
Michael Kozlowski Jul 19, 2012
Man I sure am gonna miss that V-8 in the current M3. That thing made me fall in love with the M3.
Mike Jimmy van Varik Jul 19, 2012
And hopefully the 8 speed box will help :)
Description: Expect the new M3 sedan to debut at the 2013 Geneva Motor Show, with the M4 coupe to arrive sometime after the release of the new 4 Series, perhaps as late as 2014.

These are one piece calipers only 2 show but there are 2 on each side so 4 unlike 2 piece calipers
Kenneth Williams Jul 21, 2012
And by the way there's only two pistons per caliper on these.
Dan Jardine Jul 20, 2012
Pistons press the pads, not the rotors
Brandon Lidy Jul 20, 2012
If you look closely at the caliper, you can see 4 "circles". I believe those are the calipers
Matt White Jul 20, 2012
The circles on the rotor
Ferrari Italia Jul 19, 2012
Thanks! But how can you tell how many pistons there are by looking at it?
Brandon Lidy Jul 19, 2012
The brake pistons press the rotors against the pads I believe. More pistons allows more friction, therefore better braking. Correct me if I'm wrong
Kevin Blockley Jul 19, 2012
Hmm!! Those brakes just tells your opponent @ the lights don't even bother, lol
Ferrari Italia Jul 19, 2012
Can deceive what pistons are to me?
Alex Vasquez Jul 19, 2012
This is gonna be a great car
Johnny Hoover Jul 19, 2012
Finally bigger 4 piston brakes
Mike Jimmy van Varik Jul 19, 2012
Blue brakes look quite cool :)
