Cham KhievJul 18, 2012 Its kickn ass n takn names, y not? Lol
Alex SmithJul 17, 2012 Oh man ANOTHER GT-R on DRT. I never saw that coming.
Julian PilinciJul 17, 2012 Is the GTR 1,000HP or 1,100HP?
Description: The 1,100hp beast represents a big boost over the stock twin-turbo V6. Its challenger comes from Arkansas-based Protomotive Engineering, where some of the fastest Porsches in the world have been buil...Add Comments39
Lou GuerreroJul 19, 2012 GT1 or DFI it doesn't matter if they both develop the same 950 like Carlos implied and PDK isn't that much faster than the GTRs tranny. I think a 997.2 would still lose.
Darren NardoJul 18, 2012 Great race. Sick launch by the 911 !! The GTR really laid the boost down and gained ground despite the terrible reaction time!
Domi BsaibesJul 18, 2012 I don't understand, on this page they say it's 1100 hp while it's 1000 hp in the title
Igor NatsioksJul 18, 2012 @vincent, the difference is not 50hp, but 150hp. That is significant.
Carlos Ernesto GarciaJul 18, 2012 @daniel, this id a 997.1 turbo, while a 2011 is a 997.2 turbo. A new turbo s on its own hits 60 in about 2.8. And thers the updated PDK
Daniel SullivanJul 18, 2012 @colby. Wrong. I said this is the latest 911 TURBO and it is. The latest 911 is the 991. The Turbo comes out in 2013 and it has not been released yet. The Turbo S won't follow for at least a year, making it a 2014 model.
Vincent R ButlerJul 18, 2012 They are both Great cars, with amazing performances
Vincent R ButlerJul 18, 2012 Colby The out come will
Be the same. 50hp less doesn't mean anything btw. The driver in the GTR had a terrible reaction Launch. The GTR would've and should've won that 1/4 mile. @Tin you comment is just retarded
Colby ChurchJul 18, 2012 @Daniel This is not the latest gen Porsche 911. The new ones are completely different animals and they look slightly different and the ail light design is much nicer and different now. Do some research, and Carlos is correct. It would win for sure.
Henz HerreroJul 17, 2012 Im sure nissan cud care less about the gtr, well not 100%, cuz they have to compete thru a broad spectrum of cars.. Porsche only compete for sports cars, full size suv and flagship sedans.. My 2c, so i think theyve done really good for the gtr..
Kyle HardistyJul 17, 2012 the Porsche was a beast! But the the GTR was a MONSTER!!!
Keenan CasteelJul 17, 2012 Wicked launch by the Porsche.
Lou GuerreroJul 17, 2012 Im really starting to like these hyper horsepower races. They really let the car develop the power unlike 1/4 where it's strictly acceleration.
Daniel SullivanJul 17, 2012 @carlos. Why would 2011 make a difference? This is the latest generation Porsche turbo. Unless you're referring to the 2014 991 Turbo S--a car that's not out yet. The 2013 991 turbo isn't even on the market yet.
Carlos Ernesto GarciaJul 17, 2012 You give a 2011 911 turbo s 950 hp and that gtr has no chance
Pablo HerasmeJul 17, 2012 The race was fair, its all about the power to weight ratio
Ben AugustJul 17, 2012 All I saw was a very slow driver in the GTR.
I love Porsche > GTR, but even I gotta admit that the RT of the GTR was 2x more than the Porsche.
God I love the Porsche though...
Ervis AtJul 17, 2012 Nice race blame who you want but the quarter mile belongs to the Porsche and the mile to the gtr their both great cars and the gtr will never get the respect it deserves because it's a NISSAN but with that said if you had 100k to spend on a car which
Tin NguyenJul 17, 2012 I'd take the 911. If you show up in a porsche and a Nissan which car do you think the wife/gf would sit in?
Luke MurrayJul 17, 2012 Even with a bad start the gtr fights back legend of a car!!
Timothy HookerJul 17, 2012 definitely driver error on launch. no way that just happened
Matt PiccoloJul 17, 2012 And IMO, the gtr looks better than the Porsche, not in that color though
Matt PiccoloJul 17, 2012 Gtr had a horrible start! Didn't launch correctly...Good race though
Dillon DixonJul 17, 2012 The unlimited 500 is just about ET the start doesn't matter. If you count the reaction times then it was one damn close race, but the GTR would've still one. The Porsche dominated the 1:4 mile though. Great race, though.
Max BondsJul 17, 2012 didn't have a bad start the 60 ft time was barely over the Porsches
John SerelyJul 17, 2012 @sam so the 911 did not win off the line because Nissan was at a disadvantage, just because it had a bad start or the 911 is quicker
John SerelyJul 17, 2012 @sam you must not know what your talking about lol. The nissan has AWD, and so does the Porsche.
Garrett ChattertonJul 17, 2012 @byakka I saw the same thing and though that too lol the gtr did get a shitty start
Zaire WilkinsJul 17, 2012 the GTR is stingy when it comes to 1st place
Byakka HirakawaJul 17, 2012 love the porche but the gtr had driver error on take off
He hits the gas late, but thats drag racing for ya
Domi BsaibesJul 17, 2012 Add those extra 50 hp to the porsche and it would kill the gtr.
It's about time a car slightly looses a gtr
Paul LissonaJul 17, 2012 I'm way more on the Porsches side.
John SerelyJul 17, 2012 I love that California to be honest, I would probably take the California over the GTR (and save a lot of money because the GTR probably costed a lot of money to tune
Brady FeredayJul 17, 2012 I like that orange on the GTR and I really don't like orange cars lol
Keenan CasteelJul 17, 2012 @Dillon Don't take Nissan's technology and precision as a lack of passion. It's just a different kind of passion than Porsche displays.
David PurcellJul 17, 2012 I love both but the 911 is my pick but not by much.
Its kickn ass n takn names, y not? Lol
Oh man ANOTHER GT-R on DRT. I never saw that coming.
Is the GTR 1,000HP or 1,100HP?
