VATH Creates 700HP Mercedes-Benz SLS Roadster

Supercharger raises output on Mercedes supercar by almost 300 hp.

Most of us would look at the Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG Roadster and see automotive perfection. But some will inevitably see it as a platform for tuning, and for those buyers Vath has come out with a series of enhancements. By installing a supercharger and tweaking the ECU, Vath increased the 6.3-liter V8's output from 536 horsepower and 479 lb-ft of torque to a whopping 702 hp and 627 lb-ft, dropping its 0-60 time to 3.6 seconds (0.1 seconds quicker than stock) and raising its top speed from 197 mph to 205.

To handle the extra power, a high performance brake system with 405mm discs and steel flax lines were fitted. As was an enlarged gearbox oil cooler, and the choice of a stainless steel variable exhaust system. The German tuner also lowered the SLS by 45 mm and fitted a nose-lift system. Visual enhancements include 20-inch three-piece alloys, front and boot spoilers, side skirts, and carbon brake vents. Inside, a leather interior with carbon or wood trim boasts a sporty steering wheel and a 249mph speedometer. Total cost of this conversion is 85,130 Euros, inclusive of VAT.
