Well in my state to apply for a historic plate, your car has to be at least 20 years old.
Jrias Fosh Jun 11, 2012
Phillip is right, these cars were bad ass back in the day...and still are!
Phillip Greene Jun 10, 2012
This car is bad ass you guys are just haters
Stephen Krane Jun 10, 2012
There is no age for classics really there are modern classics. This isn't one because it was shit
Mark A. Young Jun 10, 2012
This is not a classic.. It's only 17 years old. Has to be at least 20.
Description: Built from 1994-1996, the Impala SS was based on the cop car favorite Chevrolet Caprice. Originally shown as a concept at the 1992 Detroit Auto Show, the production version was very similar to the sho...

How does a reverse flow coolant system work, and what are its advantages over conventional systems?
Vince DeMasi Jun 09, 2012
The LT1 has always had reverse flow coolant it's nice in theory but it's a pita to burp the air out
Zachary Sadler Jun 16, 2012
My dads impala runs elevens. He doesn't have that much into it.
Cho Dan Jun 09, 2012
Two things nice about this car: 1. The wheels. 2. They quit making it.
Phillip Greene Jun 09, 2012
A stock one would woop up on a mustang around the same year so I think they did alright
prodrag Jun 09, 2012
These were nice muscle cars. To bad you don't see that many on the road.
Jearod Bartlett Jun 09, 2012
Never understood the hype on these. Outright fugly and not even that quick without sinking some cash into them. Sure, some of your 'buddies' impalas run 11's, however, so do some Pintos. Completely irrelevant.
Michael Brannon Affourtit Jun 09, 2012
I own a 95 the condition isnt great but I'm going to fix it over time. Its such a beautiful car
Jason Davis Jun 09, 2012
found in any Hood across America. Just dont forget the stupid "I have a Cop light".
Zaire Wilkins Jun 09, 2012
this looks alot better than the 2010 impala
francocanadiano Jun 09, 2012
i heard of someone who converted one of these to a manuel tranny from a vette. 6spd. and it was really fast. pretty sure it was under 10sec car. other upgrades possible too obviously. it was on youtube
Carlton Sofocusedon Green Jun 09, 2012
Ha. My bro has 3 of these. 1 of em does an 11 sec quarter.
Logan LeMonnier Jun 09, 2012
Ugly, but I guess better looking then a lot of 90s cars
Patrick Schalk Jun 09, 2012
I still want one!!!! I love this car. Make a real nice grocery getter
Brian Ball Jun 09, 2012
Man, I wanted one of these sooo bad when they first came on the scene!
Description: Power came from the LT1 5.7-liter V8 small-block V8 that produced 260hp and 330lb-ft of torque. While this was the same engine used in the Corvette at the time, Chevrolet decided not to improve the el...

Yea those are all hp numbers your going to have to add torque to your vocabulary if you want to hang in a conversation with gear heads
Colin Dzendolet Jun 10, 2012
my old 89 VW fox was 105 from the Audi/VW 1.8
Colin Dzendolet Jun 10, 2012
in the 90s, most 4cyl were about 105-115, the prelude was 140-170 from 93-01, most v6s I remember were just at 200 from the mid 90s on, my 96 Riviera is 240, albeit supercharged, up from 210 for NA 3800 series II
Phillip Greene Jun 10, 2012
Yeah hp is cool but torque is what those small motors lack
Patrick Schalk Jun 10, 2012
Yeah well this has 330lb ft or torque. What 4 banger had that in the 90s? Exactly.
Rubo Harutunyan Jun 10, 2012
My 98 m3 (USA) puts out 240hp stock It a I6. Puts a huge smile on my face every time I drive it
Riley Di Pol Jun 10, 2012
And prelude had around 200hp in the 90's......
Igor Natsioks Jun 09, 2012
No... Corollas golfs civics and crx all had 100+ hp
Phillip Holbrook Jun 09, 2012
This was the 90's you know when four cylinders were under 100 HP and 6's were under 200.
Mikey Jimenez Jun 09, 2012
@Christian LT1 were very torquey engines but they weren't known for tuning, just stroke and bore it to a 383 and it'll make a good 400+ and a nice little super charger wouldn't hurt either, you can easily get 550+.
Ben Norton Jun 09, 2012
It's the best engine I've had so far
Vince DeMasi Jun 09, 2012
Gotta love the LT1
Description: Aside from the aforementioned mechanical differences, the Impala SS was a much better looking car than the Caprice. Instead of a somewhat bland and even Florida retiree-friendly appearance, Chevrolet ...

Those are the police trim wheels. Perhaps they are just showing them for contrast.
Josh Knight Jun 09, 2012
Why does this one have different rims than the other pics
Carlton Sofocusedon Green Jun 09, 2012
This is pretty nice 3/5
Kyle Gareau Jun 09, 2012
Ultimate sleeper right there, black rims, very little badging.
Description: Other standard features included leather seats with the 'SS' logo, a leather-wrapped steering wheel and cup holders (remember, this was the mid-90s; cup holders were not always standard then...

The G8 was actually compared to an E class and held its own on all points, the new SS is great news for Chevy.
Description: The owner of this 1995 Impala SS has managed to keep his car in fantastic condition. Unlike many other owners, he's opted to keep his car mainly stock. The only exception is some new rims that he...

Shit went back and read article, the LS2 was 6.0 so they are definitely wrong again.
Phillip Holbrook Jun 09, 2012
The G8 GT did use a VVT version of the LS2 though. Plus it is still in use in the Commodore down in Australia, so there is a slight possibility they are right.
Josh Negron Jun 09, 2012
LS3 people! Nothing comes with the LS2 anymore... It was in the GTO (love my 06 Goat), SSR, 05-07 Vette, 06-07 CTS-V, 06-09 Trailblazer SS. The replacement LS for the LS2 is now the LS3. (Camaro SS, G8 GXP, 08-> Vette).
Jerry Cole Jun 10, 2012
Cause the taurus was the Always the shitty copy cat of this. look back on the first gen taurus and the co existing impala, and from each gen up, you'll see all the similarites
Shawn Sullivan Jun 09, 2012
Sorry ford not goes
Shawn Sullivan Jun 09, 2012
Why does it seem like I see goes taurus rear end?
Carlton Sofocusedon Green Jun 09, 2012

Lou Guerrero Jun 09, 2012

Paul Roberts Jun 10, 2012
Look at that detailed steering wheel
Mikey Jimenez Jun 09, 2012
It's probably an older guy.
Carlton Sofocusedon Green Jun 09, 2012
Yeah Ive sat in dozens of impalas. This one is perfect condition. Wonder if its all original
Kyle Nistler Jun 09, 2012
That interior is in pristine shape! This person knows how to take care of his s**t!
David Munasinghe Jun 10, 2012
Prefer the floor shifter.
Phillip Greene Jun 10, 2012
I think these with a bench is better but this looks amazing for its age
Dale Schroeder Jun 09, 2012
Wow, yeah. I don't see a bit of wear anyplace in that interior. Nice!
Carlton Sofocusedon Green Jun 09, 2012
Even the armrest looks perfect
