Jay Kay’s 1955 Maserati A6G/54 Up for Auction at Pebble Beach

Get ready for what's perhaps the most exclusive car auction of the year.

The first details of this year's 2012 Pebble Beach auction are just beginning to come out and, like always, the yearly event will be full of some of the finest cars the world has ever known. In addition to all of the fine food and wine, visitors will be treated to seeing some very expensive cars hit the auction block. One of those will be Jamiroquai lead singer Jay Kay's 1955 Maserati A6G/54. The car originally debuted at the 1955 Paris Motor Show and to this day remains absolutely beautiful.

The Frua bodied Berlinetta features original coachwork and is set to bring in an estimated $1.5 - $2 million. Under Kay's ownership, the car has won Best of Show at Salon Prive and even participated in the Mille Miglia Storica a few times. Good and Company, the auction house running the sale, also provided details of two other rare cars that will be up for sale. The first is a 1966 Shelby 427 Cobra that was just one of 260 road cars produced. CSX3216, according to the auction house, has a genuine, date-coded 427 FE big block engine and has been fully restored to its original Wimbledon White and black leather interior.

It has complete records going back to its first owner and is estimated to bring in $750,000 - $950,000. The third car previewed is Prince Louis Napolean's 1938 Bugatti Type 57C Stelvio. Yes, this original owner was the nephew of Emperor Napolean I of France. The prince was apparently a fan of Bugattis and owned close to three dozen throughout his life. Among them was this matching-numbers, black and cream supercharged Type 57C. It was the last car he bought before the outbreak of World War II, in which he fought in.

Napolean requested that the car have a Cotal gearbox and Houdaille shock absorbers from the factory, both of which remain on the car to this day. It's expected to fetch between $1.3 to $1.6 million.
