Mazda is at it again, with yet another special edition for the MX-5 Miata.
Mazda's MX-5 Miata has become a staple in the automotive world as a fun driver's car. The little Japanese roadster has been receiving special editions out the wazoo over the past few years and on the back of Mazda releasing the hot little 205hp MX-5 GT Concept (set for debut at Goodwood), the manufacturer has announced yet another version set for production. Called the Kuro edition, the special Miata is based on the SE and Sport Tech trims.
A 124hp 1.8-liter engine will be available for the soft-top and a 158hp 2.0-liter plant will go to the hard-top. Both the models take benefit from new styling features in the form of updated rear bumpers, bigger sports exhaust system and 'Kuro Edition' badging. The special blacked-out 17-inch alloy wheels combine brilliantly with the Kuro's Crystal White exterior finish, racing-style graphics and black detailing around the headlights. The exterior is also available in Velocity Red Mica and Brilliant Black finishes, but to our eye the white seen here tops then all.
The interior upgrades on the Kuro edition include heated leather seats with red stitching, speial floor mats and pedals. Mazda has plans to produce only 200 units of the MX-5 Kuro Edition soft-top and only 400 units of the the hard-top. The former lists at £18,495 in the UK while the latter runs a solid £21,995. The Japanese manufacturer will open their books for orders in the Britain starting July 1st.
