my favorite car the nissan skyline gtr r34
toby.lau.75 Aug 13, 2013
Bruno its Nissan were talking about here.
Phillip Holbrook Jul 02, 2012
Strange every R/T I have seen didn't have TT, they must have been badge racers. I didn't realize the Stealth got all the good stuff, good for Dodge.
Aaron Crisp Jul 02, 2012
Turbo and it has AWD.
Aaron Crisp Jul 02, 2012
Phillip there are 3 engines types for the 3000GT and the Stealth... V6 SOHC, V6 DOHC, and V6 DOHC Twin Turbo, all the same engine. The only difference between the 3000GT and Stealth is purely cosmetic. I would know, I own a Dodge Stealth RT Twin
William Downs Jul 01, 2012
yea phillip look up the stealth R/t its just a 3000gt vr-4 with different badge
Ashley Lopez Jul 01, 2012
@Phillip, actually there is a version of the stealth that has the twin turbo engine.
Phillip Holbrook Jul 01, 2012
Well they didn't include a pic of the V35 Skyline. Guess they didn't want to give away that it is just badged as an Infiniti here.
Phillip Holbrook Jul 01, 2012
And the Infiniti G series was a Skyline, it just never got the good engines either.
Phillip Holbrook Jul 01, 2012
The Stealth was sold as a Dodge and it was a dog because it never got the 3000GT's turbo engine. All it ever had was the NA 6. The 3000GT VR4 was AWD and had a 310 HP (if I recall correctly) TT 6.
Aaron Crisp Jul 01, 2012
@Cameron Stock for stock the GTO VR4 beat the Skyline GTR by a nose... Under powered huh? Have some respect. http://t.co/B0mIkoM
Mark Reider Jun 30, 2012
You couldn't get them here due to EPA, but if they did ship them here they would have been detuned like a lot imports where back then. Namely, the M3 which was shipped here with 240hp and in Europe it had around 330hp.
Mark Reider Jun 30, 2012
Most of the Skylines that are here, probably drove here from Canada. The Skylines where sold in Japan, Australia, New Zealand and after 1997, in the UK and Canada.
Mathew Caleb Stanfield Jun 30, 2012
Yeah the NSX was a little out of most tuners price range when it arrived beautiful car none the less though
Devin Babyn Jun 30, 2012
NSX isn't a tuner icon. It's just an icon
Joel Hope Jun 30, 2012
We all know the nsx type r was the best handling jap car just watch best motoring and let tsuchiya tell you. Nsx icon is needed next
Ben Norton Jun 30, 2012
It was also called the 3000gt in America. Wells I couldn't agree more! The R35 is crap compared to the skyline gtr in my opinion
Vincent Butler Jun 30, 2012
Cameron Lmfao I was gonna type something like that. But I didn't want start something
Abraham Mendoza Jun 30, 2012
@Mikey, hey thanks for reminding me!
Cameron Duncan Condy Jun 30, 2012
@Aaron 3000gt is a dog. Labeled as a stealth r/t in America. It's a pig and under powered the GT-R is a legend and still proves to be to this day. If we talk Japanese cars GT-R is the only one we should talk about.
DeUahn Wells Jun 30, 2012
The skyline GT-R was a great car, an awesome car but the GT-R (in my opinion) is just a big computer that makes anybody a fast driver...what happened to needing skills??
Andrew Grimm Jun 30, 2012
They didn't make it because of the crash standards and ALOT more. Long, confusing story.
Oren Blumenstein Jun 30, 2012
gotta do the evo or sti next i'm not a fan of imports but that's one car i can respect
Sean Win Jun 30, 2012
Skyline is 1 of Japanese best track and road car all time !
Mikey Jimenez Jun 30, 2012
Hey CarBuzz just a little reminder, today's the Corvette's Birthday!
Brady Fereday Jun 30, 2012
@chris you would be correct
Jacob Keith Miller Jun 30, 2012
Omg now a skyline!? I love these tuner icons!!
Jason Levy Jun 30, 2012
About time carbuzz lol
Chris Penza Jun 30, 2012
Why wasn't it sold in the US? Let me guess, emissions standards?
Larry Martino Jun 30, 2012
I love this car.
Andrew Grimm Jun 30, 2012
Uhh ohh. Here comes all the GTR fanboys...
Ryan Patrick Clauson Jun 30, 2012
I was expecting the GTR to be on the list sooner
Aaron Crisp Jun 30, 2012
3rd Nissan tuner icon? Alright CarBuzz time for a Mitsubishi 3000GT VR4! Great article on the GTR though.
Rahson Powers Jun 30, 2012
The first time I saw this car was in fast five and I like it!
Ron Vinson Jun 30, 2012
One of the best Japanese Cars!
Ryan Cardone Jun 30, 2012
@Wilson This is common for many older (50's -80's) Japanese cars. For safety reasons government regulations required rearview mirrors to be visible through the front windshield within the area that the windshield wipers swipe.
Bob Jones Jun 30, 2012
All old domestic Japanese cars had mirrors on the hood like that. I wish they were still like that, its easier to glance down at the hood than it is to turn all the way to the doors.
Joel Hope Jun 30, 2012
Ken Mary skyline is best looking skyline
Darren Martin Jun 30, 2012
I kinda like the mirrors like that
Wilson LaFaver Jun 30, 2012
What's with the mirrors
Dimitris Xristos Alepous Jun 30, 2012

Didn't mitsubishi also make us bomber engines for WW2 correct me if I am wrong
Andrew McNeal Jun 30, 2012
Probably a separate division under Mitsubishi. Or the company had another name back then.
Colby Church Jun 30, 2012
Mitsubishi made the Zero fighter plane in WW
Description: In those days it displaced 2.0-liters and produced 160 horsepower. That might not sound like much, especially compared to the current GT-R, but it was nearly double the power of the standard Skyline. ...

Almost got my hands on an r32 but some guy bought it before I could
Sebastian Grey Jul 01, 2012
Sexual favours were involved.
Phillip Greene Jun 30, 2012
I drove an r32, one of the coollest things iv ever done, I asked the guy how he got it and he wouldnt give any details
Vatsal Patel Jun 30, 2012
Japs used to copy the shapes of euro and american cars! such as this one. they also copied an E type jag and etc. its a fact!
Theo Hubbard Jun 30, 2012
Ken and Mary Skyline? Was that it's nickname?
Den Zo Jun 30, 2012
The sound of this car is amazing!
Cho Dan Jun 30, 2012
Holy Fender Flare Batman!
Besim Hojhalli Jun 30, 2012
Looks a little like a Camaro
Abraham Mendoza Jun 30, 2012
Too bad they killed it so fast. Shame.
Brady Fereday Jun 30, 2012
That looks mean as hell
Trey Richard Allen Jun 30, 2012
Kpgc110. My favorite.
Larry Martino Jun 30, 2012

Flymcbean Jul 01, 2012
Wow Oscar just wow. No it should not.
Ron Vinson Jun 30, 2012
Not a looker like the original.
Scott Harrington Jun 30, 2012
Yea the r32 is my fav
Danny Gonzalez Jun 30, 2012
One of my favorites!
Oscar Vaca Jun 30, 2012
It should have a "Night Kids" sticker on there somewhere ;)
Abraham Mendoza Jun 30, 2012
Absolutely love these right here.
Marshall Keller Jul 02, 2012
i think thats cause the GTR has more high tech computers and sensors in it than two xboxs can even come close too lol and they cant just "make" it handle well if they want to keep theyre phisics realistic. the xbox hardware cant keep up. try stiffening the rear. oversteer > understeer (sometimes)
Shane Heid Jul 01, 2012
I drive real cars in real life, it's pretty fun
supra_mkiv Jun 30, 2012
lol fm i'm a gt5 guy got the peugeot race car on the nrburgring 24 hours with my b-spec drivers
Den Zo Jun 30, 2012
Every single performance part or copy other people's setups from various forums... If you know how to drive this thing, not a lot can keep up when the twisty stuff starts... If you MUST modify, shed weight / better tires IMO
Den Zo Jun 30, 2012
The R35 is plenty quick and agile in FM4. You just need a decent steering wheel setup and know how to drive (in FM4) and at least a understanding of what a GTR is compared to traditional 4WD car. Give the stock setup a while before you "expertly" buy
Joe Lamouk Jun 30, 2012
Skylines are good enough in FM4, except maybe the GTR which is not as quick and as agile as in real life. The real problem is that AWD cars are over-rated because of their PI which is too high compared to their real performances.
William Downs Jun 30, 2012
idk what your talking about, maybe its ur tuning, i have a really quick r32 in a class and and sweet r35 in s class, my problem is there handling is horrible really gotta spend some time tuning the suspension
Zach Pate Jun 30, 2012
They did make all of then slow, I agree.
Chris Penza Jun 30, 2012
I don't think so I think the r34 and r35 are fine. I haven't driven the others much though
Larry Martino Jun 30, 2012
Speaking o Forza, they made all the GTRs, especially the new one, very slow
Carlton Sofocusedon Green Jun 30, 2012
@bader whats ur gamertag
Carlton Sofocusedon Green Jun 30, 2012
Yeah its not pretty on forza4. Still plenty quick tho

They claimed 276 HP due to the JDM regulations that prohibited cars with more than 276 HP will not be sold to overall public.

The beast from the east! Godzilla!!
Victor A. Frederick Jul 01, 2012
My personal fav. I got a chance to drive one in Kansas city years ago. A tuner shop imported it and was making it into their drag car. As a preferred customer I asked to drive it and that trip around the block was epic.
Abraham Mendoza Jun 30, 2012
I love the 400R, but that Nismo LM Road Car is a rare bird.
Ashley Lopez Jun 30, 2012
This is my favorite skyline also. This was also the canvas for the Nismo 400R, and everyone knows that thing sucked. Lol. (;
Ron Vinson Jun 30, 2012
This one is better!
Ben Norton Jun 30, 2012
They didn't even give the R35 a manual transmission... That's just not right
DeUahn Wells Jun 30, 2012
Scott your exactly right, the new GT-R is NOT a skyline, not even the same blood line. The new one is driven by the EXTREMELY intrusive ecu...not the person behind the wheel.
Tanton Stoneman Jun 30, 2012
This in Midnight Purple is the best looking car ever!!!!
Scott Harrington Jun 30, 2012
@ will. Not to sound anal or anything but the new gtr is not a skyline so you can't be throwing the r35 badge around all willy nilly. Lol but yea it's a Nissan gtr and nothing else
Joe Lamouk Jun 30, 2012
Sweet looking thing ! Japanese cars from the middle 90's are still so sexy ! The R33 and the Supra are my favorites !
William Downs Jun 30, 2012
gtr awd stystem is basically rwd with on demand 4wd, when ur driving its rwd till its senses wheel slip or a need for better grip and transfers power as needed
William Downs Jun 30, 2012
mainly looks, the performance almost remained the same, changes included a little more hp and upgrades to the awd system. the awd system in the r33 was changed from the 32 and wasent as good so they started over from the r32 system and enginered the crap out of it and thats why the R34 awd system is so perfect, some even consider it still more superior to the current R35 system
Bruce-Almighty Tumblin Jun 30, 2012
QUESTION: what's the difference between R32, R33, & R34? (I don't know to much about the GT-R's history)
William Downs Jun 30, 2012
im with oscar, i hate the looks and the R32 and R34 hade better performance then the R33.. but in the end its still a gtr
Oscar Vaca Jun 30, 2012
I'm not a fan of the R33. it fell really short when compared to the R32 and R34. it was just not the same. but that's my opinion lol.
Abraham Mendoza Jun 30, 2012
My favorite, so chubby looking, yet so quick.
Justin Tucker Jun 30, 2012
Oh yes, the best out of them all in my mind as well
Nick Sti Jun 30, 2012
Hands down, best skyline
Daniel Levy Jun 30, 2012
The best sky line
Trey Richard Allen Jun 30, 2012
R33 is my fav skyline.
Chris Penza Jun 30, 2012
I can't wait until these can be imported legally
Caribbeanenthusiast Jun 30, 2012
I had one of these. My fav for years.
Andrew Grimm Jun 30, 2012
This thing is a monitor truck right now. 4x4 status with that ride height
Mono Feo Jul 06, 2012
Love u baby it's that sexy blue OMG I just fell drop trip n fell in love again ...lol
Melvin Cerrillo Jul 02, 2012
I've seen dealers in Seattle selling these bad boys.
Matt Piccolo Jul 01, 2012
Shut up Shane... If u think this is boxy, go look at any American car and reconsider that thought... And stop being so ignorant
Domi Bsaibes Jul 01, 2012
I wouldn't say i get a bonner :p but my heart beats go crazy in about a millisecond when i see a sexy car. Just by the thought imagining myself driving a fast car my adrenaline goes mad. Which is similar in case of spotting a hotty :p
Terrance Parker Jul 01, 2012
Nice!!! The R34 and the R32 are are my favs.
William Downs Jul 01, 2012
and forgot to mention i was fallowing him for a good 15-20 min drooling
William Downs Jul 01, 2012

(I love american cars) But I can hardly think of anything to come from the states during the R34's era that can top it. So if you'll excuse me, I'm gonna keep my boner out.
Alec Lindgren Jul 01, 2012
Im not an Import fan but this is just sooo awesome
Leo Castillo Jul 01, 2012
Boss car americas retarded for not importing them
Shane Heid Jul 01, 2012
Put your boners away boys, it's just a boxy Japanese car
Vatsal Patel Jun 30, 2012
will take this over a lame ass Evo X
Devin Babyn Jun 30, 2012
So much want right here. Don't care if I find a GT-R or not I just want a R34. Especially in this color
William Downs Jun 30, 2012
@bruce. in a straight line maybe but when it comes to the turns there awd system just cant compete with the gtrs awd system, simply the best there is and was at its best when they did the update for the R34. loved the r34 since i first saw it, my dream car rite there screw anyother car in the world this is first second and third pick. white, blue and black in that order
Mikey Jimenez Jun 30, 2012
Aww that's more like it! Best GT-R hands down!
Abraham Mendoza Jun 30, 2012
Gotta respect the car for what's its done, but it also attracted a lot of unwanted attention to the automotive world.
Garrick Rainey Jun 30, 2012
This is my ultimate dream car. I hate the U.S because they wouldn't import them over stupid issues with EPA and other BS. R34 is by far one of the most legendary cars of that era & still is today!
Domi Bsaibes Jun 30, 2012
Bruce they'd go faster against an r34 but not r35 because of its ecu engineering
Zach Pate Jun 30, 2012
All time favorite car.
Christoffer Wassberg Jun 30, 2012
My favorite body style out of all the skylines id kill to get my hands on one
Chris Penza Jun 30, 2012

Pablo Herasme Jun 30, 2012
The car that brings back memories
Bruce-Almighty Tumblin Jun 30, 2012
I think they would because they are lighter cars!
Bruce-Almighty Tumblin Jun 30, 2012
QUESTION: if you gave the WRX Sti & the EVOLUTION the same hp & torque as Godzilla(the GT-R) would they be quicker & faster?
Matt Piccolo Jun 30, 2012
This car is truley amazing
Jordan Smith Jun 30, 2012
Much better than the R35. I'll always like the R34 more than the new one.
Kyle Hardisty Jun 30, 2012
one of the most iconic, best cars ever made!
Michael Douglas Jun 30, 2012
Nothing beats the r34 that came from asia. This car Was and is simply awesome.
Kai Andrew Carlson Jun 30, 2012
Mmmmm my fav skyline. Love me some r34
Carlton Sofocusedon Green Jun 30, 2012
There it is. King of the road
Ken Louise Jun 30, 2012
One of my all time favourites.
Domi Bsaibes Jun 30, 2012
Iconic! Nissan should have conserved how it's headlights looked
Carlos Eduardo Gaviria Jun 30, 2012
Ten years later and it's still my favorite car
Victor A. Frederick Jul 01, 2012
Perfection in any color.
Abraham Mendoza Jun 30, 2012
I've only seen the last ones in silver, the ones before that, I've only seen red.
Ashley Lopez Jun 30, 2012
If I'm not mistaken, the Nismo Z-Tune skylines were the only ones that were painted all the same color.
Abraham Mendoza Jun 30, 2012
Nah, they also came in Bay Side blue, silver, black and this right here.
Tanton Stoneman Jun 30, 2012
Weird, the I thought the Nür only came in that beige colour
William Downs Jun 30, 2012
the gtr above this one, R34 in blue is actually a nur spec gtr notice the vent on the hood
William Downs Jun 30, 2012
abraham is correct there would be a little vent in the hood if it was nur spec
Abraham Mendoza Jun 30, 2012
I thought Nur specs had a air induction in the hood?
Nevzat Erboy Jun 30, 2012

Phillip they aren't too rare. I almost bought a gts-t with the RB26 for $7500 a few months ago. These are quite common depending on where you're at
Phillip Greene Jun 30, 2012
Yeah so get an ultra rare car and then get an even rarer car and sawp there guts? No sorry iv driven a r32 nismo and if it were mine I wouldnt do anything to it
Sam Hansen Jun 30, 2012
Yeah just get a GTS and drop in an RB26
Andrew Nissley Jun 30, 2012
I think I've heard that there's a setting on the new R35's to make it RWD. Not sure though
Jason Levy Jun 30, 2012
@chris you can get a rear wheel drive skyline gt-t
Chris Penza Jun 30, 2012
It would be cool to make a skyline RWD and take it drifting
Pablo Herasme Jun 30, 2012
Why doesn't the R35 have a RWD option?
Colin Dzendolet Jun 30, 2012
because the single Turbo rb25det isn't quite as powerful as the rb26dett
