This is awesome how can you hate on something like this. One great car plus another great engine combined, me Gusta. If you put a K20 in a lambo I might be pissed though.
I know way off subject but I saw a 350z with a power stroke motor in it 0_0 that makes no sense to me that motor has got to weigh at least 1.5 times more or maybe more than the VQ this swap in the porsche makes sense to me opt for the lighter motor
When you guys have your own Porsches you can put whatever engine you want in it Put the LS in it!
Yeah I'd keep the flat 6 in the Porsche as well, this makes about as much sense as putting a flat 6 in a corvette, certain engines just shouldn't go in certain cars haha

On the road, Ty Aaron, I do love my car, it's just time for a new one. Only wish Acura Kept the 3gen TL and converted to AWD, then that car would be just Perfect. But I guess they want something new every 4-5 years. 3rd gen has been the best
It took me over 2 years to find my Visual line on that mountain. I had a few scary moments, almost sliding off the mountain, 1-5thousand feet drop to my death lol. Can't help the road being clear every time. A couple rocks weighting over 50pounds
@vincent ya I'm aware of the fact that having driven that road couple times a day for a few years may give you an advantage, and driver skill I believe I mentioned before. You got a nice car there!

NASCAR! To boring for me. Formula 1 or GT racing is where it's at. The TT races on the Isle of Man are my favorite. All kinds of vehicles, driving on regular roads, through little towns at insane speeds.

Ya I had an old 72 240z for my track car, that thing was amazing! So light and with the built motor, crazy fast! One of the best handling cars I've driven. It died though : ( Don't laugh, but I think my next one will be a miata, cheep and fun!

Yeah I get at least 26mpgs on the highway. My car isn't built to be too serious. Just a lot of fun to drive. T tops make it even better too

An LS motor in an Atom, that's stupid. For one, it wouldn't fit. Two, the 3.0L that's in it, is made from 2 Hayabusa motors and it weights about 1/4 the weight of a 4 cylinder car engine. Don't mess with perfection, 0-60 in 2.3-2.5 secs.
these roads are mostly corners, with very short straights, so they favor a shorter wheelbase lighter car. Still those guys insisted too that there cars where well suited for such roads but found out that they aren't. Look up Kings Mountian rd inC.A
@patric when compared to 1,900, I would,It's pretty amazing the difference between my entrance,mid corner and exit speeds are compared to a tricked out camero, there's a solid 20-35mph difference, depending on driver and setup of the camero or stang
That being said I do believe LS motors are the best bang for your buck, in the right application and this is definatly the right application. I was lucky enough to ride in a 875hp v8 914 and it changed my perspective forever, theres nothing like it!

@colby Ariel atom never used an LS motor they are runing a much smaller motor from Hartly, and the first one was built here in the states go check dpcars.net you'll see the atom there, and the much better smaller v8, and now back to the porsche.
@patric, it's still a big heavy car and you could never keep up with a smaller lighter car in the twisties. I know I've ran my old 86 jetta against some pretty crazy cars, and never lost on these mountian roads I live neer. 1,900 pounds vs 3,500 lol

The LS engines can be built up past 1,400 horsepower and run great. They were developed by Katech, look them up, they are geniuses at engine design. Bang for your buck, I can go get an LS1 for 3k now. That's 350hp to put in whatever I wish.
@Justin Haha, dude, wanna know why everyone puts LS engines in everything from the Ariel Atom to the Hennessey Venom GT? Because its the best engine on the road. There is no comparison for power and reliability. And btw, V8s are the best. :)

Nothing like buying parts for your 911 at O'rielys, and if the motor really is lighter than the original it's a win win! Cheap easy to maintain and pretty fast, just wish this story was about a 914!

@patrick go check out harltey v8s they have 3 liter turbo thats right around 200 pounds and make almost 1000hp, granted I think the torque is only 500lb still pretty awesome little engine

If your going to put a v8 in a Porsche you put it in a 914, at least then you have a car that is fast and still corners amazingly well, cause it doesn't throw off the balance of the car. I've seen one with a 928. Turbo v8, with 1002hp! Was bad ass!!
