Alex VasquezJul 16, 2012 That is one sexy contradiction!
Ben NortonJun 30, 2012 Hovie did you say no brakes? They have 6 pots up front. I'd say they have plenty of braking ability
Vincent ButlerJun 29, 2012 Yeah I will., and Ty for that.
Aaron CartwrightJun 29, 2012 @august lol ya its what we do! We take German strussle and make apple pie!
Aaron CartwrightJun 29, 2012 Be carefull man! Ya I don't push it much on public roads anymore, many negative consequences. Ya that TL is a great car, it's won a championship or two for Acura
Vincent ButlerJun 29, 2012 On the road, Ty Aaron, I do love my car, it's just time for a new one. Only wish Acura Kept the 3gen TL and converted to AWD, then that car would be just Perfect. But I guess they want something new every 4-5 years. 3rd gen has been the best
Vincent ButlerJun 29, 2012 It took me over 2 years to find my Visual line on that mountain. I had a few scary moments, almost sliding off the mountain, 1-5thousand feet drop to my death lol. Can't help the road being clear every time. A couple rocks weighting over 50pounds
Aaron CartwrightJun 29, 2012 @vincent ya I'm aware of the fact that having driven that road couple times a day for a few years may give you an advantage, and driver skill I believe I mentioned before. You got a nice car there!
John M Wilkins JrJun 29, 2012 You might be a redneck.........
If your Porsche has a Chevy LS7 crammed in the boot
Mark ReiderJun 29, 2012 NASCAR! To boring for me. Formula 1 or GT racing is where it's at. The TT races on the Isle of Man are my favorite. All kinds of vehicles, driving on regular roads, through little towns at insane speeds.
Jon Dustin HouseJun 29, 2012 And Matt White, I am very aware what cams are. My point was the sound was wrong for the car. I agree with you though, some people are idiots... or trolls.
Colby ChurchJun 29, 2012 @Vincent NASCAR is badass once you get interested. Learn the drivers and see who's personality you like best, pull for him and watch the drama unfold at 200mph. It's a really great sport once you accept it for all it's uniqueness. Acquired taste. :)
Vincent ButlerJun 29, 2012 I'm just in love with the fortune, I want that so badly. Hopefully ill get a buyer soon
Vincent ButlerJun 29, 2012 Also Aaron it all depends on the driver and Also how well you know that road. I've heard of kind mountain. I smash through LA Forrest, 3times a week. In my 0& TL'S. I still haven't sold it yet. When I do I'm get getting 3rd gen rx7 with 2jz swap
Vincent ButlerJun 29, 2012 @Hovie Watch Jeff Dunham NASCAR Joke Lmfao. Im sorry but that shit bores me, the only way I'll watch it. If I smoked some good Kush or wasted. Lol
Aaron CartwrightJun 29, 2012 @andrew yup that's why I want one, some people don't understand that though.
Noah GavurinJun 29, 2012 it sounds like its choking :(
Hovie Hov E-HouseJun 29, 2012 @ justin ...F40!!!!! F430 458 panamera FORMULA 1 u hate v8 ehh ignorant ppl say ignorant things rednecks = nascar and if udont know how awesome nascar is ... U try runnin 210 mph with no brakes pushin te car infrot of u
Andrew NissleyJun 29, 2012 Badass Porsche!! @Aaron miatas are awesome!! Basically a cheap street legal go kart, and reliable
Aaron CartwrightJun 29, 2012 Ya I had an old 72 240z for my track car, that thing was amazing! So light and with the built motor, crazy fast! One of the best handling cars I've driven. It died though : (
Don't laugh, but I think my next one will be a miata, cheep and fun!
Patrick SchalkJun 29, 2012 Yeah if were gonna build something to actually race and be track focused it'd be an S2K or maybe an STi
Aaron CartwrightJun 29, 2012 @patrick Nice, I know they are fun cars, I have lots of respect for muscle cars and LS motors. They are great for what they are, just like small light cars are great for what they are. verry different but both a lot of fun!
Patrick SchalkJun 29, 2012 Yeah I get at least 26mpgs on the highway. My car isn't built to be too serious. Just a lot of fun to drive. T tops make it even better too
Trent BourgeoisJun 29, 2012 @Patrick, I know where you are coming from. It's okay, we can laugh all day with our torque running 80 mph at 1700 rpms and 30+mpg.
Aaron CartwrightJun 29, 2012 @mark yup my point exactly, hartly is the company that makes those busa v8s.
Mark ReiderJun 28, 2012 An LS motor in an Atom, that's stupid. For one, it wouldn't fit. Two, the 3.0L that's in it, is made from 2 Hayabusa motors and it weights about 1/4 the weight of a 4 cylinder car engine. Don't mess with perfection, 0-60 in 2.3-2.5 secs.
Aaron CartwrightJun 28, 2012 these roads are mostly corners, with very short straights, so they favor a shorter wheelbase lighter car. Still those guys insisted too that there cars where well suited for such roads but found out that they aren't. Look up Kings Mountian rd inC.A
Aaron CartwrightJun 28, 2012 @patric when compared to 1,900, I would,It's pretty amazing the difference between my entrance, mid corner and exit speeds are compared to a tricked out camero, there's a solid 20-35mph difference, depending on driver and setup of the camero or stang
Aaron CartwrightJun 28, 2012 That being said I do believe LS motors are the best bang for your buck, in the right application and this is definatly the right application. I was lucky enough to ride in a 875hp v8 914 and it changed my perspective forever, theres nothing like it!
Patrick SchalkJun 28, 2012 I wouldn't say 3500lbs is heavy
Aaron CartwrightJun 28, 2012 @colby Ariel atom never used an LS motor they are runing a much smaller motor from Hartly, and the first one was built here in the states go check dpcars.net you'll see the atom there, and the much better smaller v8, and now back to the porsche.
Aaron CartwrightJun 28, 2012 @patric, it's still a big heavy car and you could never keep up with a smaller lighter car in the twisties. I know I've ran my old 86 jetta against some pretty crazy cars, and never lost on these mountian roads I live neer. 1,900 pounds vs 3,500 lol
Justin RouthJun 28, 2012 @Justin you are very mistaken in your first comment. It was quite ignorant with the redneck and banjo shit. Lol a southern accent does not mean that somebody is a redneck. that's a dumbass stereotype and shows nothing but ignorance
Justin TuckerJun 28, 2012 Haha sorry man. Ya the s14 are great.
Tanton StonemanJun 28, 2012 Who the hell puts an LS7 in a 911?!?! Especially a classic 911!!!
Justin TuckerJun 28, 2012 @ patrick. It is a very nice car. I like tht body style
Justin TuckerJun 28, 2012 I love FI. Turbos are my thing. And yes I have tracked a vehicle. My 97 s14 240sx.
Patrick SchalkJun 28, 2012 The car in my pic. 98 Z28 LS1 with a 6 speed manual. I have lots of suspension stuff done to it so it's not like a normal muscle car
Matt WhiteJun 28, 2012 Justin - Do you like NA or FI? Also have you ever tracked vehicles? An NA v8 is a very enjoyable engine to have at the track.
Justin TuckerJun 28, 2012 Well yeah I know haha but what do you drive? I won't bag on you or anything
Patrick SchalkJun 28, 2012 Haha well nevermind. A TT Gallardo is not a V6 or 4 cyl.
Justin TuckerJun 28, 2012 What do you drive? I mean you may not believe it but i have drove an underground racing gallardo so I have drove fast cars before
Patrick SchalkJun 28, 2012 Justin I bet if you drove my car you'd think twice.
Justin TuckerJun 28, 2012 I mean I know it's a good engine but I just don't like v8s. I like my inline 6 and some 4 cylinders. I know they might not produce as much torque but I'm just used to that
Colby ChurchJun 28, 2012 The LS engines can be built up past 1,400 horsepower and run great. They were developed by Katech, look them up, they are geniuses at engine design. Bang for your buck, I can go get an LS1 for 3k now. That's 350hp to put in whatever I wish.
Colby ChurchJun 28, 2012 @Justin Haha, dude, wanna know why everyone puts LS engines in everything from the Ariel Atom to the Hennessey Venom GT? Because its the best engine on the road. There is no comparison for power and reliability. And btw, V8s are the best. :)
Matt PiccoloJun 28, 2012 No this is a disgrace to 911's, they're known for their flat 6's
Aaron CartwrightJun 28, 2012 Nothing like buying parts for your 911 at O'rielys, and if the motor really is lighter than the original it's a win win! Cheap easy to maintain and pretty fast, just wish this story was about a 914!
Justin TuckerJun 28, 2012 You make a good point. Porsches are expensive to maintain. I see where you guys are coming from though. I just still think its dumb
Abraham MendozaJun 28, 2012 I bet the original engine was expensive to maintain and harder to maintain as well. When you put more logic into, I guess it makes more sense.
Justin TuckerJun 28, 2012 I actually am calm. And he should have done the original engine
Aaron CartwrightJun 28, 2012 @patrick go check out harltey v8s they have 3 liter turbo thats right around 200 pounds and make almost 1000hp, granted I think the torque is only 500lb still pretty awesome little engine
Patrick SchalkJun 28, 2012 Justin, what of it didn't have an engine in it when the guy bought it? You don't know any back story to this. Calm down.
Justin TuckerJun 28, 2012 In a Porsche....to me that destroys the Porsche. And I'm not defending anything, I just don't care so it's pretty pointless to argue with me
Justin TuckerJun 28, 2012 I'm actually pretty smart, but stubborn. I just make stupid choices. And I'm one for original engines, seeing what u can get outa them before the bust. I'm just sick of people LS swapping the shit out of everything. I'm not hating the LS is just why
Tin NguyenJun 28, 2012 It sounds like one of those boats on the Mekong river.
Brady FeredayJun 28, 2012 Justin if you didn't care what people thought about you your wouldn't try to defend your opinion just saying lol
Jason OfhorrormoviefameJun 28, 2012 Better. Name one statistic that says otherwise. Lighter, faster, better MPG (look it up...), more torque, etc. Name one real indisputable fact that makes this car worse than the original. Debating opinions is pretty pointless...
Patrick SchalkJun 28, 2012 It was Justin. You're about as sharp as a wooden spoon.
Abraham MendozaJun 28, 2012 That's probably the stupidest thing I've ever heard anybody say.
Patrick SchalkJun 28, 2012 Hahahahaha Justin is so funny. Tell another joke Justin.
Justin TuckerJun 28, 2012 The stupid ass rednecks where most likely like " weeeel it has this shitty ass *spits tobacco* ger-man engineen so leet but an v8 in it!" *banjo starts playing*. This is the dumbest thing iv ever seen. I don't care how good the engine is, I'm sick of people putting LS, let along another v8 in cars that should have them!
Matt WhiteJun 28, 2012 & Jon - learn what a cam is. I swear some people are complete idiots.
Clint EdwardsJun 28, 2012 @Patrick that is without a doubt the greatest description I've ever heard
Dan duzenskiJun 28, 2012 That car is sick. Id use that for my daily too.
Jon Dustin HouseJun 28, 2012 It's like putting a fart pipe on a Corvette. It just shouldn't sound like that! It would be a much better vehicle if it didn't sound like that idling. Could have been a very good sleeper car.
Devin BabynJun 28, 2012 Mikey's gonna be so stoked when he sees this
Patrick SchalkJun 28, 2012 They are usually raspy and sound like a homeless man defecating into a tin can with explosive diarrhea. This LS7 did it a favor.
Michael DavidsonJun 28, 2012 I would love to have a car that sounds like that, and I'm sure it sounds a million times better when he revs it up.
Justin RouthJun 28, 2012 Sure maybe you shouldnt do this to a 911 but it sounds like heaven and probably goes like hell. Props to the guy that built it
Clint EdwardsJun 28, 2012 Those hushpowers almost always sound good. Very cool car
Brian MicinskiJun 28, 2012 Ewwww. Looks nice but doesn't sound right.
Trent BourgeoisJun 28, 2012 But mom, that doesn't sound like a turbo! I won't be racing any porches in south carolina now.
Carlton Sofocusedon GreenJun 28, 2012 @eric- So puttin a flat six in a.... C4 corvette is cool then huh
Eric MichalakJun 28, 2012 That is cool. Everyone on here saying it is sacrilege needs to chill out. It's just a car and the guy who owns it (and clearly has some serious mechanical skills) can do whatever he wants.
Matt MartirJun 28, 2012 Sickest thing i have seen in a VERY long time. I couldnt imagine how much fab work had to be done. Better yet, what made him think "ls7 in a 911" sounds fun, i think id be kind of scared to drive it. Not so much traction, but stability under accel?
Patrick SchalkJun 28, 2012 Not one that has that much power and torque
Aaron CartwrightJun 28, 2012 Ya it might be a light engine for an LS but it's not a light motor lol I've seen light v8s and they barley crack 200 pounds
Patrick SchalkJun 28, 2012 I love how everyone thinks the engine weighs more than the car
Dillon MageeJun 28, 2012 The initial start up sounds godly.
Hovie Hov E-HouseJun 28, 2012 Also if u read on the ls7 in a lighter engine soo handelin has improved :p
Hovie Hov E-HouseJun 28, 2012 This juss puts a huge smile on my face loool
Carlton Sofocusedon GreenJun 28, 2012 If u close your eyes it sounds like a beastly vette. Then u open your eyes and WtF!!!!! This is wrong man just plain ol wrong
Aaron CartwrightJun 28, 2012 If your going to put a v8 in a Porsche you put it in a 914, at least then you have a car that is fast and still corners amazingly well, cause it doesn't throw off the balance of the car. I've seen one with a 928. Turbo v8, with 1002hp! Was bad ass!!
Preston MingJun 28, 2012 that's just disgusting..good and bad..it sounds amazing and I bet that thing can go..the bad is that it shouldn't have been a Porsche...to each his own though
Petre DraghiciJun 28, 2012 And it sounds horrible. The original sound is much better.
Petre DraghiciJun 28, 2012 They tortured the car. The 911 is famous for its flat-six.
Description: For others, like the stereotypical redneck sounding southern gent here, the brilliant 3.3-liter flat-six wasn't quite up to the job so was replaced with an LS7 V8. This act of heresy should argua...Add Comments20
Ben NortonJun 30, 2012 Granted ours aren't stock motors... I'm honestly not sure if you can
Ben NortonJun 30, 2012 Bob I wouldn't. All of our LS motors get pretty hot
Dustin LabitJun 29, 2012 There's a reason so many people do LS swaps.
Michael BeachJun 28, 2012 Oh an LS swap, how original.
Jason OfhorrormoviefameJun 28, 2012 Lighter, more power, more torque, better sound, cheaper replacement parts... What logical reason would somebody have NOT to like this other than some unjustified "it's not tradition" bs?? Nice work!
Chris GainesJun 28, 2012 @ Dustin agreed, the engines in the wrong place anyway. a lighter motor is an improvement!
Dustin LabitJun 28, 2012 It's an upgrade. Nothing wrong with that.
Lee CascioJun 28, 2012 This is awesome how can you hate on something like this. One great car plus another great engine combined, me Gusta. If you put a K20 in a lambo I might be pissed though.
Byakka HirakawaJun 28, 2012 Takes away from wat the car is
If the flat 6 is not enuff
Turbo it
Brady FeredayJun 28, 2012 I know way off subject but I saw a 350z with a power stroke motor in it 0_0 that makes no sense to me that motor has got to weigh at least 1.5 times more or maybe more than the VQ this swap in the porsche makes sense to me opt for the lighter motor
Corey Alan KelleyJun 28, 2012 When you guys have your own Porsches you can put whatever engine you want in it
Put the LS in it!
Scott GraceyJun 28, 2012 Yeah I'd keep the flat 6 in the Porsche as well, this makes about as much sense as putting a flat 6 in a corvette, certain engines just shouldn't go in certain cars haha
Nick StiJun 28, 2012 Boxer engines have soul. Unless the car was rear ended, this shouldnt happen
Reid HuffJun 28, 2012 I would rather have the flat 6
Davey EdwardsJun 28, 2012 I love this engine. The LS9 has too much power to be practical but 505 is perfect
Abraham MendozaJun 28, 2012 Ha, I know someone on here had this idea.
Justin RouthJun 28, 2012 I love how light the LS engines are.
That is one sexy contradiction!

If your going to put a v8 in a Porsche you put it in a 914, at least then you have a car that is fast and still corners amazingly well, cause it doesn't throw off the balance of the car. I've seen one with a 928. Turbo v8, with 1002hp! Was bad ass!!
that's just disgusting..good and bad..it sounds amazing and I bet that thing can go..the bad is that it shouldn't have been a Porsche...to each his own though
And it sounds horrible. The original sound is much better.
They tortured the car. The 911 is famous for its flat-six.
