David GuerreroJul 20, 2012 Pricey, proper tuning and modifications can cost like 6-12k on a modern Japanese car, like a 350Z of a new FRS. The Hispanics put in like 500 bucks compared to like 8k. And I'm not racist toward Hispanics, I am Hispanic. It's just that I know quality
David GuerreroJul 20, 2012 Honestly, the topic of 'fart canon rice rockets' goes by the people who drive it, in San Francisco the problem resides in poor Hispanics get cheap civics, and put the cheapest exhaust possible, instead of putting quality JDM products that can be
Sean WinJun 26, 2012 LoLOL v6 Merc .... R u having a laugh ,...!? Simple minded ....
Phillip GreeneJun 25, 2012 Yeah but the thing is I like civics there cool to have they arnt fast there just cool little toys, and even if one did have ligit jdm parts and profetional body mods all the dicks throw around the rice term wilk still call it rice because there jealous of some one who can aford to mod there car into a custom ride
Kyle SmithJun 25, 2012 Stomping them with simply a V6 automatic Mercedes. A hatch with a K20 swap would demolish your Benz. How would it feel getting beaten by a naturally aspirated 4 cylinder? Not good. I'm not forcing any hate here I'd just like you to open your mind.
Kyle SmithJun 25, 2012 Okay, so you've never seen a Civic that wasn't all douched up. But have you ever seen a Civic that was done right with proper JDM parts? Probably not, if you were to see one you'd change your mind. And you must only race stock Civics if you're
Alex SmithJun 25, 2012 Yeah I have NEVER seen a civic that wasn't all douched up. And my V6 Mercedes stomps them all.
Greg VazquezJun 25, 2012 @tin don't forget about all the stickers and the zip tides that hold the bumper
Tin NguyenJun 25, 2012 Most of them lower their cars with lowering springs from pepboys which makes their cars ride like horse wagons.
Tin NguyenJun 25, 2012 they all respond with "cold air intake"
Tin NguyenJun 25, 2012 When I see civics I see teens who think their civics are the fastest on the road with fart can mufflers that make noise you can hear a mile away but it would take them a year to get to you. Oh yeah, and when asked what do you have under the hood
Kyle SmithJun 25, 2012 It's a waste for you Tin, for others it's not. I can tell you're not an import fan whatsoever.
Tin NguyenJun 25, 2012 @laguna, what you said is on the spot but I still think pouring $$$ into a civic is a waist of time and effort.
Laguna SecaJun 25, 2012 The civic will always be respected by those who are in lower income brackets. it's why the car was built, ask Honda. This isn't a dig, just reality. It's a fun cheap car that most anyone can afford to modify.
No PistonsJun 25, 2012 From someone who spends a lot of time at the track and watching SCCA and NASA races, there's a reason why you don't see civics
Bijan JahanpanahJun 25, 2012 This is about the civic where's the Chinese in that
Jack HuffordJun 25, 2012 I kind of feel bad for the Chinese/Japanese heritage and people, because what they know and love, is somewhat highly frowned upon in some places.
Phillip GreeneJun 24, 2012 I cant really tell but that looks like a first gen and if so no a hot hach will most def not handle that beast on a road cource in the slightest, that car was built for the track
Joel HopeJun 24, 2012 Have fun going in a line. And k20 swap and turbo can run high 10s low 11s on slicks with a smallerish turbo.
Joel HopeJun 24, 2012 Haters gonna hate potatoes gonna potate. If you say civics werent ment to go fast you've never heard of the type r. Bmi did a test with a type r vs a type s nsx around Tsukuba and the civic had the better lap time. If you want to be fast in straights
Patrick SchalkJun 24, 2012 My Camaro would. I ain't skerd.
Mr TwoJun 24, 2012 tim if thats your car in the pic it may be good going up and down the drag strip. but even you know round a track you wouldt keep up with many 2l turbo fwd european hot hatches etc. supose it depends what you want realy
Phillip GreeneJun 24, 2012 Yeah hp per liter is the dumbest argument you can make it just means its being pushed to hard if any thing lb/f per liter wouls be a better argument ... O wait this a tuner thread theres no torque here
Tim PreisingerJun 24, 2012 Mr two. Why does it even matter how much hp per liter a car puts out? All that should matter is the amount of power it puts out in the end, and torque. Something most 4 bangers don't have much of
Mr TwoJun 24, 2012 even tho its called fq400 it puts out like 405bhp iirc
Devin BabynJun 24, 2012 Where you get the extra 4hp from? It's 200hp/L if it's a 2L 400hp
Mr TwoJun 24, 2012 colby an evo 4cyl has 400bhp as standard somthing like 202hp per litre! no v8 can match that. a civic is not a verry good example of a tuner. then you must look at the superiour handling jap cars have. even the front wheel drives
Devin BabynJun 24, 2012 Matt you've said stuff about toronto multiple times. Car shows/spotting cars. I have a odd memory I just hold onto useless information like that
Ashley LopezJun 24, 2012 @Colby, the silver civic the says Import DPS on the side a couple of pictures over runs a 7.08 in the 1/4 mile. Does that count?
Matt PiccoloJun 24, 2012 @ devin... When was I sayin shit about Toronto,. But yea I do live about an 45 mins to an hour from toronto (depending on traffic) little town of about 5000 people give or take
Colby ChurchJun 24, 2012 Plus I see about 50 civics every day, I like to have something a little more uncommon. Even some of the best looking civics won't turn many heads because people are so tired of seeing them.
Colby ChurchJun 24, 2012 Show me a 2200 hp civic that runs a quarter mile in 6.9 seconds at 215mph and I will believe that they have as much potential as a V8, but until then, I'll stick with my extra 4 cylinders. And anything over 500hp is alottt of strain on a 4 cylinder.
Colby ChurchJun 24, 2012 Bottom line here: The Civic was not intended to be a fast car, but they can be made fast with extensive modifications, as can just about anything. They are popular because they are cheap and cheap to make decently quick, but they have a limit.
Devin BabynJun 24, 2012 I remember you saying shit about TO so I'm guessing you live in the GTA
Matt PiccoloJun 24, 2012 I never said what side I was from lol
Devin BabynJun 24, 2012 I, also from Canada; completely different side though, have observed that the only cars that rust out bad are american. My dads 88 F-150 is hilarious, love that thing. Of course going from a wet climate to a dry one is the biggest factor
Mikey JimenezJun 24, 2012 @Matt show how much you want to prove me wrong.
Kyle SxfxhgbdsfhbgdsJun 24, 2012 Shame on all those people that believe the civic is the be all and end all. There is more to life.
Matt PiccoloJun 24, 2012 Y would I give u the money, ur the one that has to see it to Believe it... That not my problem lol ;)
Mikey JimenezJun 24, 2012 Give me the money and sure I would love to take a trip over there.
Kyle SmithJun 24, 2012 Haters be learners, the civic is a great car that will always have a place in my heart.
I feel the Civic was poorly represented here with terrible examples in the pictures. Can't beat a clean K20 Si though, unfortunately nothing like that is here.
Matt PiccoloJun 24, 2012 Y don't u just come up hear to Canada and take a look for ur self!
Mikey JimenezJun 24, 2012 Yup that's exactly what you should do, until then you have no argument.
Matt PiccoloJun 24, 2012 @ mikey...what u want me to go take photos of all the cars I see in Canada that have rust on em then post em on Facebook and count them up... I'm just stating my observations
Matt PiccoloJun 24, 2012 @alex... I know it was spell check, I corrected it but the comment got deleted
Mikey JimenezJun 24, 2012 @Matt I call BS. No proof, no argument.
Matt PiccoloJun 24, 2012 @ Patrick, srry 2010, whatever... Thats even worse
DeUahn WellsJun 24, 2012 @Tom I couldn't have put it better myself. Those other dudes act like they've never seen a Honda spank the sh*t out of a V8 before....cause that never happens right
Patrick SchalkJun 24, 2012 Matt that's amazing considering there's no such thing as a 2009 Camaro
Matt PiccoloJun 24, 2012 As just saying, Chevy claviers are the absolute worst cars for rust.. Every second one i see has rust like everywhere lol
Matt PiccoloJun 24, 2012 @ patrick... Ur kidding right, up in canada, I see a lot more American cars rusted through than Japanese. I've actually seen a '09 camaro with rust on the driver side rear wheat well...
Patrick JosephJun 24, 2012 Joshua. No they don't rely solely on Honda. All Japanese cars tend to rust before they even leave the showroom. Sorry if i offended you and your beloved rust bucket that you drive.
Patrick SchalkJun 24, 2012 Italians for exotics that spontaneously burst into flames.
Joshua Minh TranJun 24, 2012 Also Logan had some sense...learn from him car manufacturers each have their specialties, Germans for luxury, Italians for exotics, Japs for cheap performance...font be a hater and get your head out of your ass
Joshua Minh TranJun 24, 2012 Lmao@Patrick..."Hondas if you like rust" shows that there are intelligent people like Tom and morons like you. So I assume the rust proofing industry relies on Hondas for their core business am I right?
Patrick JosephJun 24, 2012 Hondas are fine. If you like rust, poor steering and pedal feel as well as plastic. They take you wherever you wanna go. I'll give them that.
Melvin CerrilloJun 24, 2012 I appreciate a good car if it's a good car. Some civics are done right sone not so much. But honestly I opened this article to see the comments
Ashley LopezJun 24, 2012 @Tom, well said good sir. I agree with everything you said.
Mr TwoJun 24, 2012 jap cars are the most reliable and most tuneable cars in the world end of. or if ur after quality/luxary you go to the germans
Logan LeMonnierJun 24, 2012 I'm not a fan of Japanese tuning but I know the difference between a well tunes car and ricer. A ricer is more looks then power and a tuner is the opposite
Kenneth WilliamsJun 24, 2012 And the thing that sucks is that hondas are cheap to build and they last but people still cheap out or they just do dumb crap to them to give them a bad reputation.
Tom McleodJun 24, 2012 ..it may not be their cup of tea.. It IS someone's and warrants enough respect to keep your "ricing" comments to yourself. Rice is about corny show and no go... It's not about genuine tuner capabilities.
Tom McleodJun 24, 2012 This irritates me to no end..
Do you think every single person that reads Carbuzz is an avid fan of 60's and 70's muscle? Or that everyone loves British racing heritage?? No, but for the it's part, people have enough respect to realize that while ..
Nick StiJun 24, 2012 Uh I've seen Civics with $300 turbo kits put down over 250whp. These things are like legos, they just go together well. Sure a lot get riced out, but they aren't all as bad as some say they are
Alex SmithJun 24, 2012 The fart cannon, Asian spoiler, and big Honda windshield sticker adds +10 speed. Duh.
Brady JacobyJun 24, 2012 Going fast without a V8?? Wahhhh?
James Lynch-SarasekJun 24, 2012 Seriously don't open the article if you don't appreciate it's content
Emir Sanela SinanovicJun 24, 2012 The fact is, almost nobody got it right with the Hondas. They put on a fart can and call it fast. Really?
William DownsJun 24, 2012 it is cause all the people that hate imports are gonna be retatded and come on here bitching in an article dedicated to imports cause there attention whores
Adam WielandJun 24, 2012 Need to rename it "ricer icons"
Clint EdwardsJun 24, 2012 This is going to be a bloodbath
Nick StiJun 24, 2012 I'd say those are red-orange wheels.... Look bad though
William DownsJun 24, 2012 .. where u see red i see orange but yea regardless color killed it
Matt PiccoloJun 24, 2012 Take off the ugly red wheels, and it's not too shabby

Quinn EdgingtonJun 26, 2012 Lol anything is faster than a camero!
Jordan JacksonJun 25, 2012 It's just like short people, the smaller they are the bigger the ego is, lol, they feel like they have to prove themselves even when there's nothing to prove
Colin DzendoletJun 25, 2012 @Cameron, I loved mine to death, I miss the hell out of it, just wish it had an independent rear instead of the torsion bar, I think it would've made it even more fun on the twisties or on the track, I was saying I laugh at people that don't understand what bolt ons like really do to their cars, who are usually the 'ricer' guys, I'm a big fan of well executed and properly tuned imports. I've had m...
Tim PreisingerJun 24, 2012 DeUhan, yeah... Because we all know the zl1 camaro can't handle. Right. While I'm at it, drag racing isn't just about hitting the gas and seeing what happens. Lot more to it. Learn about something before you make a post like that.
Cameron Duncan CondyJun 24, 2012 But in do agree that American muscle and handle for example the 3.8L turbo Trans am from 1986. Have your self a read and not to mention recent technology with American cars. We don't need hostility in our small car community.
Cameron Duncan CondyJun 24, 2012 @clint lets not get into a pissing match here. I would call your comment just as ignorant as DeHuan's. There are many FWD cars that hold there own. Nowadays there are many 400hp+ cars that handle just fine around a track.
Sean WinJun 24, 2012 Both American muscle car or civic ! Both is great cars and both have the unique personality ! That my personal opinion only ....
Clint EdwardsJun 24, 2012 And before you claim you can upgrade the suspension, you can do the same modifications on any number of classic and late model muscle cars.
Clint EdwardsJun 24, 2012 @DeUahn had you continued reading you'd see the part where the high hp civics are confined to drag racing because their suspension can't handle anything else. And if you think 400hp in a FWD car is going to fare well on a twisty road you are mistaken
Mikey JimenezJun 24, 2012 @DeUahn get out of the 60's, American muscle does just fine around the corners.
Mikey JimenezJun 24, 2012 @Quinn I'm guessing he has a 1989 firebird? Those cars only made 230hp and 300lbft of torque.
Cameron Duncan CondyJun 24, 2012 @Colin I love my car. It's quick enough to not get in trouble. The 6spd and tq matching hp it's a great daily.
Quinn ConnerJun 24, 2012 If the joke is on him paying 3k for turbo, the joke should be on you! 3k for a 50 percent more hp jump on a factory motor is far superior then your 1k+ bolt ons for your firebird with an approx 10% hp jump on your v8.
Quinn ConnerJun 24, 2012 Funny how your laughing about the turboed 08 civic. He would For surely beat you in a race since he has a lighter car with 15 less horsepower.
DeUahn WellsJun 24, 2012 It's not all that hard to mash a straight line, but find that racing line and hit that apex...that's where it's at....I'm just saying
DeUahn WellsJun 24, 2012 You guys forget these muscle car dudes are all about drag strips and stuff, let's not even talk about what happens when it comes to the back roads. That muscle gets left behind when it's time to hit the curves...which is my favorite anyway.
Colin DzendoletJun 24, 2012 Cameron, I had an 02 Spec-V and with my cai and cat-back it was 6hp and 8lb-ft to the wheels, header added after was another 4hp and 3lb-ft, it always even cracked me up that people think that you'll get 10-15whp with EACH of those mods, that's where you get all those ricer idiots
Cameron Duncan CondyJun 24, 2012 As well as the your car has about 1000lbs on the Civic and about twice as much displacement.
Cameron Duncan CondyJun 24, 2012 You have to take into consideration it has half the amount of cylinders than you. As well as price is irrelevant because the Fire Bird ended in 02 and Pontiac isn't know to hold there value.
Vince DeMasiJun 24, 2012 I know a guy who has an 08 civic si and he threw a 3k turbo kit on it and only got 285 to the wheels I have full bolt ons for my trans am and I get 300 to the wheels for half the price without a turbo just the basic bolt ons
Cameron Duncan CondyJun 24, 2012 Majority of us in here cant afford half the cars on here. So that era directly effects a lot of us on our personal cars. So bash the civic all day long but at the end of the day it's still a great car.
Cameron Duncan CondyJun 24, 2012 I still drive a car like this. Sentra Spec-V mind you I don't have a fart can and I don't think my CAI adds 50hp. I do have a header and a CAI it may add 10hp to the flywheel. I do think good tuners had an impact on sport compact cars.
Melvin CerrilloJun 24, 2012 This article is gonna be funny. Be living in a semi-oriental town I get alot of laughs looking at what some people do to their civics
Travis LarsonJun 24, 2012 At my college I saw a civic hatchback with a wheelie bar...never laughed so hard in my life. It was riced out too, stickers and everything.
Ghee ButtersnapsJun 24, 2012 Lol, Carbuzz cracked me up with this page
Chris PenzaJun 24, 2012 Once I saw a hot pink civic hatchback with an exhaust that looked like a burnt soup can taped onto the back
Ben NortonJun 24, 2012 Clint we had a guy come in the other day with a 90s civic who wanted us to instal his CAI. He said since its a fast, powerful car he wants it done right.
Patrick SchalkJun 24, 2012 Yeah the mentality of some people cracks me up. A CAI and a short throw shifter is good for at least 300hp to some people.
Kenneth WilliamsJun 24, 2012 Funny chz I didn't know having a built engine was really affected by changing the intake mani gasket. Has nothing to do with the internals. Reminds me of the guys with the fake blow-off valve noise.
Michael PageJun 24, 2012 The culture set up then set the techniques used today to get max horsepower out of today's engines. Gone are the days of iron blocks. Todays muscle cars that have twice the power and twice the mpg's of ones just 15 years ago. Thanx silly tuners
Clint EdwardsJun 24, 2012 In his defense though, he did have an hid kit which probably adds around 50hp
Clint EdwardsJun 24, 2012 @Patrick we had a civic come in the other day for an intake manifold gasket. The owner told us to be careful because the motor was "built". Cold air intake, obligitory fart can and a chrome valve cover.
Michael PageJun 24, 2012 Seems as if this writer has been reading the reader comments. I turned 16 in the nineties and I do laugh at 200+ hp in fwd cars, but in their defense, there was not a good choice of cheap cars to play with.
Tim PreisingerJun 24, 2012 Yeah, this might End up having some pretty funny debates
Patrick SchalkJun 24, 2012 I know guys who literally think you get 90hp out of a cold air intake. I'm gonna keep my eye on this article allllll day haha.
Clint EdwardsJun 24, 2012 Tell that to the 90% of civic drivers with those "upgrades"

Micah LauJun 25, 2012 Hey guys, you have to see these bottomless shorts that I wear to sleep. They never need to be washed.
Abraham MendozaJun 25, 2012 Still not to be said. There's other ways to put it. Like you know your neighbour's a cannibal but its still surprising to hear he ate someone.
DeUahn WellsJun 24, 2012 I though this was here as an example of what riced out is. The extremely heavy doors, the heavy wheels, the knock-off body kit with the chrome glued to it, the headlights and those seats...come on man
Zach PateJun 24, 2012 Lambo doors on a Civic is like coming out of the closet, it is surprising, but you're still a fag.
Carlton SalmonJun 24, 2012 It may not be my cup of sake especially with those doors but I don't think it really looks that bad. Seems to be well executed and a nice shade of red. Seen far worse than this.
Matt PiccoloJun 24, 2012 I like the aftermarket headlights
Chris PenzaJun 24, 2012 This isn't riced that bad. At least the bodykit matches
Mikey JimenezJun 24, 2012 I agree pat, everything looks clean except for the doors.
Ben NortonJun 24, 2012 I'd drive it with stock doors. Good gas mileage and not the worst handling
Patrick SchalkJun 24, 2012 Other than the Lambo doors, this one isn't that bad. That little chrome vent thing needs to go though.
Kenneth WilliamsJun 24, 2012 Ummm. I guess by your standards they aren't but civics are a relatively cheap car to build.
Rudolf DasslerJun 24, 2012 It looks pretty well executed... Nice colour too, but def not my cup of tea...
Kai Andrew CarlsonJun 24, 2012 Too bad they will never be a recognized artist.
Alex SmithJun 24, 2012 You will impress no one with that.
Oscar GalvanJun 24, 2012 I'm getting hungry looking at all this rice
Paul LissonaJun 25, 2012 The car was way better stock.
Joe HeroJun 25, 2012 I will never understand the ricer theory, add a giant wing to a FWD car and your only going to hurt yourself, you don't want to pull traction off the front wheels... unless that's the secret to making a Civic "quick around the curves"
Jordan JacksonJun 25, 2012 It wouldn't look good on anything... Lol
Jordan JacksonJun 25, 2012 THAT... Is a hideous paint job
Jack HuffordJun 25, 2012 Looks good in my book so far, and I love my off roaders so this says a lot about me....
Jerry ColeJun 24, 2012 Looks like the Golf GTI i made on MC: LA with the interior and color scheme
Zach SullivanJun 24, 2012 Kyle I agree all the civics in this article suck except the few drag ones at the bottom
Matt PiccoloJun 24, 2012 @ Chris, I do agree, with the amount of money that the person woulda spent on this, id buy a used s2k, Evo, sti etc
Sean WinJun 24, 2012 Omg .... WTH car buzz ! Ur carcist (racist ) !! Why bring those monster rice pot out !
Kyle SmithJun 24, 2012 Carbuzz picked the worst Civics ever.
I want to see some FA5's, EG's, EP3's, EF's and cleaner EG's.
Spiros ManessisJun 24, 2012 The plastic rear disc brake is my favorite ...
Carlton SalmonJun 24, 2012 As I was saying from my last comment...
Chris GainesJun 24, 2012 @Justin that's what I don't understand . save up all that lambo door and paint money and buy yourself a good used mustang or BMW if you want performance and handling. jeez.
James BusterJun 24, 2012 Why spend all that money on a crapy ass car
Melvin CerrilloJun 24, 2012 The owner of this car probably doesn't use carbuzz
Knox FerraroJun 24, 2012 This takes me back, Xhibit.
Charlie AustinJun 24, 2012 Yo we put TV monitors in yo headlights, underneath the car, in the glove compartment, and on the roof.
Zach SullivanJun 24, 2012 haha yea and I wouldn't be surprised if it still had the 1.5 sohc
Mikey JimenezJun 24, 2012 Does anyone notice that those aren't real carbon ceramic brakes lol?
Zach SullivanJun 24, 2012 I try to defend Honda and turner cars all the time and then some one does this and the worse part is that some one somewhere thinks this red headed step child is the coolest car ever
Josh ?hompsonJun 24, 2012 This is an 81 Honda how dare you???

Matthew MalyapaJun 24, 2012 VTEC just exploded cause they forgot to put cooling upgrades I've seen so many explode
Chris GainesJun 24, 2012 torque steer just kicked in, more like
Ashley LopezJun 24, 2012 B-series swaps are also one of the main reasons why the Acura Integra is one of the most stolen cars.
Cory DeinesJun 24, 2012 The headlights are copy+pasted from a donor car too. The angle is slightly off and the panel gaps don't line up.
Cory DeinesJun 24, 2012 Because photoshopping cars is actually a pretty big thing online right now. There are several large forums including photoshopchop.com.
Joe Fats HarperJun 24, 2012 It looks kinda awkward, but it could just be weird lighting on the side
Joe Fats HarperJun 24, 2012 I see what you're saying, but I'm still not sure WHY they would want to 'shop it here..
Cory DeinesJun 24, 2012 This IS photoshopped, I'm not the dumbass here. Look at the shading in the front bumper side vent. See how it's not as dark as the others? That's called amateur photoshop skills. Same thing with the side skirt.
Logan LeMonnierJun 24, 2012 I honestly don't think that looks too bad
Sebastian SorokaJun 24, 2012 No we don't consider it good taste, but who ever built it that way obviously does. That's the whole point to build the car the way you want it. And really mature to blame someone's nationality for building a car you dislike. So stop hating...
Rudolf DasslerJun 24, 2012 It's polish... They consider that good taste, almost understated... For me, that's just a no go...
Kai Andrew CarlsonJun 24, 2012 Completely agree. You guys could have chose "good" civics to post and not the flamboyantly ugly.
Jordan JacksonJun 25, 2012 @William Downs: you are absolutely right
Jordan JacksonJun 25, 2012 There ya go, mostly stock look with a nice set of rims, much better, and I hate civics, so it's a big deal for me to say that, lol
Carlton SalmonJun 24, 2012 This one is by far the nicest I've seen so far in this article.
Nick StiJun 24, 2012 @William, I agree and that goes for almost all imports (wrx, evo, S2000) they all just need to be lowered a little and have a lip + clean wheels to look perfect
Clint EdwardsJun 24, 2012 Not bad, it's way too often people go overboard.
Matt SuttonJun 24, 2012 This is good. Nice and simple. Im a muscle over rice kinda guy, but i secretly miss my 91 crx si more than any other vehicle ive ever had.
Tim PreisingerJun 24, 2012 I love laughing at these cars, but ill admit this one is done pretty well
William DownsJun 24, 2012 thats how a honda should be, they look best with a simple nice lip kit, and some rims, add a body kit and anything other then a lip spoiler and u ruin the car. keep it clean and tune it rite... aka without ebay upgrades
Matt PiccoloJun 24, 2012 Now that's not bad, I would drive that... I like the wheels but the (eye) lid has to go IMO
Phillip Joseph TrussellJun 24, 2012 I bought a 2000 si in 2001 and loved it! Amazingly fun car with a few mods it was even more fun: intake, header, exhaust, shifter, pulleys, suspension, spark plug wires, and carbon fiber everywhere. Too much fun!
Paul LissonaJun 25, 2012 88-94 bmws? No but e30 BMW you probably mean.
Jordan JacksonJun 25, 2012 They should have rerouted it to the hood, anything(well almost anything) looks good with a good scoop, especially a functional one
Gretchet SotoJun 24, 2012 The car does not have that intake setup anymore lol now is running a plenum intake manifold
Alex VasquezJun 24, 2012 Lol that intake only works on 88-94 BMWs bc you can remove one of the high beams. A civic is just awful it does look like a damn monocle! Gross
Gretchet SotoJun 24, 2012 This car does 11.5 on the quarter allmotor 345whp @247tq + it is a 08 civic Si 4dr.
Daniel LevyJun 24, 2012 Not a fan of the newer civic models their not bad but the change was too drastic
Melvin CerrilloJun 24, 2012 Looks like it's wearing a monocle
Michael KozlowskiJun 24, 2012 There's a bunch of ricers in my town with civics just like this one all riced out wanting to race all the time, and it's almost becoming a waste of gas to dust em in a race now. I f**king hate ricers.
Hank AustinJun 24, 2012 Coulda put the intake anywhere... But no... Let's put it in the headlight
Patrick SchalkJun 24, 2012 I'm assuming it's for a turbo.
William DownsJun 24, 2012 god i hope thats a drag only car, other wise that looks 100% like trash
Tim NeelyJun 24, 2012 Hahahaha. "this intake will look mean". Lol.
Matt PiccoloJun 24, 2012 Take the ugly ass air intake off the light and it's not bad
Brandon LidyJun 24, 2012 What the hell is that on the left light

Ryan Patrick ClausonDec 13, 2012 @prodrag, 10 second is a 10 second, you can't drive a 10 quarter in a fwd and say its more boring than a 10 sec in a rwd, either way they'd be the same times so you can talk about feelings all you want, but times on a strip is all that counts
Colin DzendoletJun 25, 2012 fighting the torque steer in one of those is part of the fun, its incredibly challenging, I've driven a 350hp street/strip accord with an h22 swap and LSD, it can be intense
Phil JohnsonJun 25, 2012 Boring drag car? Yup, trying to fight torque steer in a 10 second civic is just so boring.
I'm not a fan of FWD, in fact I think high powered front drive cars are stupid. But you've gotta give it up for the balls it takes to drive one
prodragJun 24, 2012 bad thing about it is that its front wheel drive. most boring style of drag cars.
Colin DzendoletJun 24, 2012 this is purely a drag car, probably runs 9s, looks like crap, true, but no worse than cobalts, g6s, neons, etc when set up for the 1/4
Matthew MalyapaJun 24, 2012 Those aren't intakes.... They suck in rice
Rudolf DasslerJun 24, 2012 I'd rather drive an Aygo... Oh my Lord, this thing is sooo hideous...
Stephen Tyler LearnJun 25, 2012 Hp/L is a stupid measurement that doesn't equate to anything when the car is actually moving. But either way no pistons is correct in the fact that the rotary has the highest ratio. It is only doubled for racing purposes so it doesn't kill the compet
No PistonsJun 25, 2012 Just read your comments in between mine. For comparison yes it's lower but in actuality and looking at simply power/liter ratio seeing what generates more nothing can touch the rotary because it is physically IMPOSSIBLE for a piston motor to do so
No PistonsJun 25, 2012 Rotary does it one every ONE. What is it your not getting about 1 to 2 therefore doubling the rotary to get 2 to 2 and have an equal base of comparison for EQUAL comparison. These are two completely different motors so a theoretical change is needed
No PistonsJun 25, 2012 And no I'm not splitting, that's exactly what it is. Unfortunately you cannot simply half your displacement and keep the hp, educate yourself on surface volume and you will lean why. As I said early a piston motor makes
Power every OTHER crank while
No PistonsJun 25, 2012 Classified as a 2.6L but realistically/physically it is only 1.3 liters.
No PistonsJun 25, 2012 Generates power every 2? Hmm simple math can lead one to conclude doubling ones value would now make a comparable equation. Due to the rotarys design and 1:1 power generation it is equal to that of a 4 cyl double it's displacement hence why it is
Cameron Duncan CondyJun 25, 2012 Agreed apples to oranges. At the end of the day it's still considered 2.6L in terms of comparison. Wankle is truly something on its own but in terms of comparison it's not even close to most hp/l.
No PistonsJun 25, 2012 Yea i havent gotten to do this in a whilr. How a site classified it doesn't change the fact it's PHYSICALLY 1.3 liters. Wankel to piston is apples to oranges. How is it fair to compare a motor that generates power every 1 revolution to a motor that
Cameron Duncan CondyJun 25, 2012 So instead of comparing a rotary to a conventional 4 cylinder 4 cycle engine lets do the opposite. I'll take me 2.0l Honda motor and split the displacement keep the hp. So it's now a 240hp/l that's all your essentially doing.
Cameron Duncan CondyJun 25, 2012 I don't make the rules I just follow them. Your renesis motor is truly a piece of art but it isn't what you think it is.
Cameron Duncan CondyJun 25, 2012 Unfortunately your wrong. Your ignorance appalls me. I have given you facts and you laugh. It's great you have rebuilt them and love them. At the end of the day it is still classified as a 2.6L so your 160 and change is now down to 80.76hp/l.
No PistonsJun 25, 2012 Motor. Due to piston motors making power every other crank it's displacement would have to be doubled to be even with the rotary in terms of surface/volume. So for the sake of equality they "double" the rotarys actual value displacement.
No PistonsJun 25, 2012 I read that a while ago and laughed. The 13b IS in fact 1.3 liters (ive torn these down and rebuilt them) they doubled the liter number due to the fact of the wankels surface/volume ratio and a rotation ratio of 3:1 to make it comparable to a piston
Cameron Duncan CondyJun 25, 2012 Look up international motor of the year 2003. The wankle won. But it's in the class of 2.5L to 3.0L. I see how the manufacture labels it as a 1.3l is essentially wrong.
No PistonsJun 25, 2012 For piston motors yes it held the title but for production motors in general the wankel is unmatched
No PistonsJun 25, 2012 Yup NA example renesis 210hp with 1.3 liters equals around 160hp and some change per liter.
Cameron Duncan CondyJun 25, 2012 The 13B renesis is considered a 2.6L. Even though it has 1.3L it's a good argument but wrong. In auto racing its also doubled. Rotary motors are a whole other beast. I'm sure your aware hence your name just wiki Mazda wankle engine and do the same
No PistonsJun 25, 2012 @Cameron
Actually rotary holds the title for most HP per liter ;)
Cameron Duncan CondyJun 24, 2012 Oh and Alex this car runs a 10.3 @ 130mph. It's also NA with a F20 swap. If your unaware the F20 had the most hp/L at 123.5 until the 458 Italia came out in 2010. That Honda motor held a record for over 10 years in our booming technological evolution
Cameron Duncan CondyJun 24, 2012 Cars give a meaningful opinion. Civics are great cars maybe all the ricers have tainted you but there are some good and inspiring inports.
Cameron Duncan CondyJun 24, 2012 Hi my name is Alex Vasquez and my opinion is meaningless. I drive an old beat up M series and try and pick up chicks. I pretend I have money but I just graduated tuning school and make 12 dollars an hour. Alex grow up and of you are knowledgable in
Zach SullivanJun 24, 2012 my buddy has an eg like this with a turbo b18 making 4 something to the wheels its a monster
Sean WinJun 24, 2012 Hahaha I remember this car slogan
"k20 like tampon ! Every pussy have one "
Alex VasquezJun 24, 2012 Shut up, nobody cares. point is the car is a piece of shit.
Alberto RajernoJun 24, 2012 Those "stickers" are called vinyls a.k.a decals and they are from sponsors who give them parts in return for advertising on the side of their car.... Some people are so stupid.
Cameron Duncan CondyJun 24, 2012 Unfortunately this in a straight line would beat majority of cars on Carbuzz . Keep in mind just straight line.
Roberto ArteagaJun 24, 2012 ......⬇...because funny cars have no stickers on them at all...
Nairan BakshJun 24, 2012 I saw this car in person it has a F20 motor from the S2000 and a K series transmission...it's all motor and dose 10second 1/4 miles...I'm not sure but it's probably doing 9s by now
Matt SuttonJun 24, 2012 Jersey huh? Id like to see that run on the strip at atco.
Joe LamoukJun 24, 2012 Is that a car prepared for drag races ? First time I see a Fwd car with this kind of wheel setup.
William DownsJun 24, 2012 that looks sweet, fat wide tires only look rite if u can see the front, gotta be able to see the goodies and the drag racing front bumper, but on a side note bet that thing can run 9's easy
Matt PiccoloJun 24, 2012 I agree lmao, this looks like crap
Tim PreisingerJun 24, 2012 Something about wide beefy front wheels just doesn't look right to me...
Jordan JacksonJun 27, 2012 @Ashley: yea, I saw your previous post after I put that one up, I just forgot to respond, still, how bad ass would it have been to have a V8 in a light weight Honda? Lol
Ashley LopezJun 25, 2012 @Jordan, it doesn't have a small block. It's still a Honda engine and it runs a 7.08 on the 1/4 mile. Take 5 minutes and just google import dps civic and you can find the build sheet.
Jordan JacksonJun 25, 2012 Hey at least it dosen't have to be in reverse for a wheelie xD
Jordan JacksonJun 25, 2012 Yea, this probably has a small block in it now, sorry tuner guys, lol
Cody AndreeJun 24, 2012 Yes. Use ur brains children lol
Zach SullivanJun 24, 2012 brandon its not fwd its obviously been converted to rwd
Brandon MetzgerJun 24, 2012 And look at the tires, why would the rear tires be so much bigger than the front if it were FWD?
Ashley LopezJun 24, 2012 Although having X-ray vision would be pretty cool. Haha.
Ashley LopezJun 24, 2012 I'm sorry to say this Ben, but you are mistaken. This car has a K-Series engine from a TSX/Accord. No Patrick I don't have X-ray vision but I have read an article and seen a video on YouTube so that's how I know.
Patrick SchalkJun 24, 2012 Ashley that's amazing you have x-ray vision.
Ben NortonJun 24, 2012 Ashley I've read an article on this one, it has an LS motor if I'm not mistaken
Chris GainesJun 24, 2012 I really hope they did a rwd conversion on this.. otherwise, we just found where all rice comes from..
Ashley LopezJun 24, 2012 @Ben, it's still a civic. It's just been extremely modified. It's even been converted to RWD but it still uses an engine from a FWD Honda.
xxmariolxxJun 24, 2012 lol yea that's why it has a parachute
Ben NortonJun 24, 2012 So this one isn't really a civic anymore, just the shell

Sean WinJun 26, 2012 LoL ! Mikey ! ..... Bra or not bra still not looking good on cars anyway ! The high power must a lot of stone chip on the bonnet ! Scar of victories .... LoL
Cham KhievJun 25, 2012 "jdm-tunning" at its best !! less is more is the motto ..This is wat the real honda community is on nowadays.. Posers rock ricers cos they jus dont know!! Lol
Mikey JimenezJun 24, 2012 O shit I didn't realize what he was talking about, makes sense now.
Devin BabynJun 24, 2012 Mikey he's right they are called bra's
Bobby YangJun 24, 2012 Those are actually pretty rare rims they are racing hart wheels
Mikey JimenezJun 24, 2012 @Sean a "bra" is something that girls use for their boobs, "Bruh" is another way of saying dude.
Sean WinJun 24, 2012 I hate those bonnets bra ! Useless
Christo SavaidesJun 24, 2012 ...less cylinders, smaller displacement and forced induction. Which is essentially what this "dumb, irrelevant ricer culture" pioneered.
Christo SavaidesJun 24, 2012 @Alex - I don't know if you're trolling or not but you have posted multiple irritating and idiotic comments. I didn't know you were the last word on what is cool. Plenty of people like 4 pots. Of anything, more manufactures are going the way of...
Alex VasquezJun 24, 2012 We arent in the early 2000s anymore, these four bangers are not cool. We need to move on to straight sophisticated performance
Polys ChristodoulouJun 24, 2012 Yes maybe it's not that good looking car u have in mind, it was not designed for Americans taste, it's for EU buyers, I just replaced my previous Honda with this model 1.8 petrol and I am sure that every day will take me from a to be without any problem at all, like my previous Honda, 250000 on the clock didn't pay a single penny for any break downs, that what counts for most of the people nowaday...
Justin TuckerJun 24, 2012 This one is clean! I like the rims but is it a black hood or carbon? If its just black then no...
Mikey JimenezJun 24, 2012 This one doesn't look to bad.
Logan LeMonnierJun 24, 2012 @matt this is too simple to be ugly. Sure it's not pretty but the black hood goes with pretty much any color thats the point of it. There are better colors then orange though
Matt PiccoloJun 24, 2012 I know but I still don't like the black
Sebastian SorokaJun 24, 2012 I don't think it's just a "black hood" I think it's carbon fiber. And prob. Not painted for show.
Matt PiccoloJun 24, 2012 U obviously haven't been on this app very long... I LOVE tuners, but I know an ugly tuner from a good one, I don't like te black hood cuz it doesn't go wit the color of the car, and i just don't like the rims
Ryan RileyJun 24, 2012 Dude what are you talking about clearly you don't like tuners gtfo!
Matt PiccoloJun 24, 2012 Change the wheels, And black hood and it's pretty nice
Jordan JacksonJun 27, 2012 And once again, how the hell can you steer this thing?! The tires gave to rub when the wheel is turned, I mean look at it!
Jordan JacksonJun 27, 2012 VTECis an emissions control system, and I was referring to the way this looks, it's hideous
Sean WinJun 26, 2012 Please open the mind to see the worlds ! Is true cars lover they love any cars any engines any countries the come from ...! VTEC is something very unique ... If really drive 1 of them in race track u will definitely agree with me ..... Same as MX5
Sean WinJun 26, 2012 This car is very fast for N/A on drag strip ! Goto check it out at YouTube - NYCE1s All motor
Mikey JimenezJun 24, 2012 Take my last name off of this car...I don't approve!
Logan LeMonnierJun 24, 2012 With the exception of maybe 2, all the cars in the article looked like ricers. It's like they were trying to enforce a stereotype
Pricey, proper tuning and modifications can cost like 6-12k on a modern Japanese car, like a 350Z of a new FRS. The Hispanics put in like 500 bucks compared to like 8k. And I'm not racist toward Hispanics, I am Hispanic. It's just that I know quality
Honestly, the topic of 'fart canon rice rockets' goes by the people who drive it, in San Francisco the problem resides in poor Hispanics get cheap civics, and put the cheapest exhaust possible, instead of putting quality JDM products that can be
LoLOL v6 Merc .... R u having a laugh ,...!? Simple minded ....
Yeah but the thing is I like civics there cool to have they arnt fast there just cool little toys, and even if one did have ligit jdm parts and profetional body mods all the dicks throw around the rice term wilk still call it rice because there jealous of some one who can aford to mod there car into a custom ride
Stomping them with simply a V6 automatic Mercedes. A hatch with a K20 swap would demolish your Benz. How would it feel getting beaten by a naturally aspirated 4 cylinder? Not good. I'm not forcing any hate here I'd just like you to open your mind.
Okay, so you've never seen a Civic that wasn't all douched up. But have you ever seen a Civic that was done right with proper JDM parts? Probably not, if you were to see one you'd change your mind. And you must only race stock Civics if you're
Yeah I have NEVER seen a civic that wasn't all douched up. And my V6 Mercedes stomps them all.
@tin don't forget about all the stickers and the zip tides that hold the bumper
Most of them lower their cars with lowering springs from pepboys which makes their cars ride like horse wagons.
they all respond with "cold air intake"
When I see civics I see teens who think their civics are the fastest on the road with fart can mufflers that make noise you can hear a mile away but it would take them a year to get to you. Oh yeah, and when asked what do you have under the hood
It's a waste for you Tin, for others it's not. I can tell you're not an import fan whatsoever.
@laguna, what you said is on the spot but I still think pouring $$$ into a civic is a waist of time and effort.
The civic will always be respected by those who are in lower income brackets. it's why the car was built, ask Honda. This isn't a dig, just reality. It's a fun cheap car that most anyone can afford to modify.
From someone who spends a lot of time at the track and watching SCCA and NASA races, there's a reason why you don't see civics
Mr two you're funny.
This is about the civic where's the Chinese in that
I kind of feel bad for the Chinese/Japanese heritage and people, because what they know and love, is somewhat highly frowned upon in some places.
I cant really tell but that looks like a first gen and if so no a hot hach will most def not handle that beast on a road cource in the slightest, that car was built for the track
Have fun going in a line. And k20 swap and turbo can run high 10s low 11s on slicks with a smallerish turbo.
Haters gonna hate potatoes gonna potate. If you say civics werent ment to go fast you've never heard of the type r. Bmi did a test with a type r vs a type s nsx around Tsukuba and the civic had the better lap time. If you want to be fast in straights
My Camaro would. I ain't skerd.
tim if thats your car in the pic it may be good going up and down the drag strip. but even you know round a track you wouldt keep up with many 2l turbo fwd european hot hatches etc. supose it depends what you want realy
Yeah hp per liter is the dumbest argument you can make it just means its being pushed to hard if any thing lb/f per liter wouls be a better argument ... O wait this a tuner thread theres no torque here
Mr two. Why does it even matter how much hp per liter a car puts out? All that should matter is the amount of power it puts out in the end, and torque. Something most 4 bangers don't have much of
even tho its called fq400 it puts out like 405bhp iirc
Where you get the extra 4hp from? It's 200hp/L if it's a 2L 400hp
colby an evo 4cyl has 400bhp as standard somthing like 202hp per litre! no v8 can match that. a civic is not a verry good example of a tuner. then you must look at the superiour handling jap cars have. even the front wheel drives
Matt you've said stuff about toronto multiple times. Car shows/spotting cars. I have a odd memory I just hold onto useless information like that
@Colby, the silver civic the says Import DPS on the side a couple of pictures over runs a 7.08 in the 1/4 mile. Does that count?
@ devin... When was I sayin shit about Toronto,. But yea I do live about an 45 mins to an hour from toronto (depending on traffic) little town of about 5000 people give or take
Plus I see about 50 civics every day, I like to have something a little more uncommon. Even some of the best looking civics won't turn many heads because people are so tired of seeing them.
Show me a 2200 hp civic that runs a quarter mile in 6.9 seconds at 215mph and I will believe that they have as much potential as a V8, but until then, I'll stick with my extra 4 cylinders. And anything over 500hp is alottt of strain on a 4 cylinder.
Bottom line here: The Civic was not intended to be a fast car, but they can be made fast with extensive modifications, as can just about anything. They are popular because they are cheap and cheap to make decently quick, but they have a limit.
I remember you saying shit about TO so I'm guessing you live in the GTA
I never said what side I was from lol
I, also from Canada; completely different side though, have observed that the only cars that rust out bad are american. My dads 88 F-150 is hilarious, love that thing. Of course going from a wet climate to a dry one is the biggest factor
** would u do that**
Well u don't even know u... So y would I pay a few g's to prove something to u? Lmao would I do that
@Paul yes ma'am.
I am a muscle car guy but if a civic is do e well it's still a sick car don't confuse ricers and tuners very very different
Mikey shut up already
@Matt show how much you want to prove me wrong.
Shame on all those people that believe the civic is the be all and end all. There is more to life.
Y would I give u the money, ur the one that has to see it to Believe it... That not my problem lol ;)
Give me the money and sure I would love to take a trip over there.
Haters be learners, the civic is a great car that will always have a place in my heart. I feel the Civic was poorly represented here with terrible examples in the pictures. Can't beat a clean K20 Si though, unfortunately nothing like that is here.
Y don't u just come up hear to Canada and take a look for ur self!
Yup that's exactly what you should do, until then you have no argument.
@ mikey...what u want me to go take photos of all the cars I see in Canada that have rust on em then post em on Facebook and count them up... I'm just stating my observations
@alex... I know it was spell check, I corrected it but the comment got deleted
@Matt I call BS. No proof, no argument.
@ Patrick, srry 2010, whatever... Thats even worse
@Tom I couldn't have put it better myself. Those other dudes act like they've never seen a Honda spank the sh*t out of a V8 before....cause that never happens right
Matt that's amazing considering there's no such thing as a 2009 Camaro
As just saying, Chevy claviers are the absolute worst cars for rust.. Every second one i see has rust like everywhere lol
@ patrick... Ur kidding right, up in canada, I see a lot more American cars rusted through than Japanese. I've actually seen a '09 camaro with rust on the driver side rear wheat well...
Joshua. No they don't rely solely on Honda. All Japanese cars tend to rust before they even leave the showroom. Sorry if i offended you and your beloved rust bucket that you drive.
Italians for exotics that spontaneously burst into flames.
Also Logan had some sense...learn from him car manufacturers each have their specialties, Germans for luxury, Italians for exotics, Japs for cheap performance...font be a hater and get your head out of your ass
Lmao@Patrick..."Hondas if you like rust" shows that there are intelligent people like Tom and morons like you. So I assume the rust proofing industry relies on Hondas for their core business am I right?
Hondas are fine. If you like rust, poor steering and pedal feel as well as plastic. They take you wherever you wanna go. I'll give them that.
I appreciate a good car if it's a good car. Some civics are done right sone not so much. But honestly I opened this article to see the comments
@Tom, well said good sir. I agree with everything you said.
Ah I miss my CRX-Si.
jap cars are the most reliable and most tuneable cars in the world end of. or if ur after quality/luxary you go to the germans
I'm not a fan of Japanese tuning but I know the difference between a well tunes car and ricer. A ricer is more looks then power and a tuner is the opposite
And the thing that sucks is that hondas are cheap to build and they last but people still cheap out or they just do dumb crap to them to give them a bad reputation.
..it may not be their cup of tea.. It IS someone's and warrants enough respect to keep your "ricing" comments to yourself. Rice is about corny show and no go... It's not about genuine tuner capabilities.
This irritates me to no end.. Do you think every single person that reads Carbuzz is an avid fan of 60's and 70's muscle? Or that everyone loves British racing heritage?? No, but for the it's part, people have enough respect to realize that while ..
Uh I've seen Civics with $300 turbo kits put down over 250whp. These things are like legos, they just go together well. Sure a lot get riced out, but they aren't all as bad as some say they are
The fart cannon, Asian spoiler, and big Honda windshield sticker adds +10 speed. Duh.
Relativly cheap performance parts? Well... No.. Just no.
Going fast without a V8?? Wahhhh?
Seriously don't open the article if you don't appreciate it's content
The fact is, almost nobody got it right with the Hondas. They put on a fart can and call it fast. Really?
it is cause all the people that hate imports are gonna be retatded and come on here bitching in an article dedicated to imports cause there attention whores
Need to rename it "ricer icons"
This is going to be a bloodbath
