MINI Paceman Becomes the 2014 Countryman Coupe on the Nurburgring

Mini has gone to the ‘Ring as they continue the development of the Countryman Coupe.

The Nurburgring track in Germany has become somewhat of a proving ground as of late in the development of new models. Following the lead of several major automakers, Mini has taken to the famed track for the continued testing of their new Countryman Coupe. The Mini Countryman Coupe first appeared at the 2011 Detroit Motor Show under the Paceman Concept moniker and it has been rebranded to give it a more familiar name to consumers.

As previously reported by CarBuzz, the Countryman Coupe will scrap the Paceman's 1.6-liter turbocharged 4-cylinder engine, which was rated at 208hp and 192 lb-ft of torque. Instead, it will carry the same engines and transmissions as its four-door predecessor. The Mini Countryman Coupe should arrive on the market as a 2014 model. It is scheduled to make its debut at the Paris Motor Show this September.
