The mustangs shoud look mostely strong not fast.. But i liked the 71 - 73 mustang fastback more.
Wouldn't the pony look cool with 3 or 4 doors but like a RX-8. Not only would ford sell more mustang to young families.

I love this concept. I wouldn't mind this being the Mustang, but they need to make it a little more aggresive.
Everybody doesn't understand that the reason the Mustang will never compete with the Vette or Viper is because it has too many seats. HP and muscle car status aside a 2+2 grand touring (that's GT) coupe will never compete with a 2 seat sports car.
once this comes out and if they do it rite and its bests the vette and viper you all will change your view on it real quick
Sure it looks aggressive, but it's no mustang. It looks good, but I'd be so disappointed if it was under the Mustang name.

@justin it's going to change so much because they are targeting a whole new generation of buyers... They're switching from baby boomers (who mainly like classics) to way newer generations (who like new exotic stuff (mainly))

I think the 4 woulnt be the base, but the base v6 will have 25% more then now.

How is it 25 percent horsepower advantage, it is just 25 more horsepower the current v6 has 300+. 25% of 300 is 75 and that is not 330
The SVO was a fun car. I've never really like mustangs but I'm glad they are going back to a 4 turbo.

Maybe Ford should make a V10 mustang? It would have more power than the GT500. The GT500 could keep its current engine, but the V10 would be for the people wanting a mustang that has more factory horsepower and more room for tuning. Ford could squeeze more power out of this engine for future models.
I say the 3.7 stays the base engine. the 3.5 ecoboost is the v6 premium and gt gets the 5.0 from the boss with 450 hp. the boss can then be a stripped out lighter version of the gt.

Yes, that would make the base mustang slower than the top of the line focus rs, but the base mustang should retain its 23k dollar base price while the focus rs will be over 30k. 330hp and RWD for 23k would be quite a deal.
This is to replace the V6, not the V8. The GT will still have the V8. I would much rather have a turbo 4 than a V6 any day. Especially if it's 330 hp, still RWD, and still gets 30 mpg. That would be hard to beat.

Car was great, recaro seats fully adjustable koni suspension, car was an auto cross killer. Only downside to now though is this version of the mustang is entirely too heavy for a 4 pot, they need to shed some lbs. for it to work
Put in some of the tech from the 13 gt500 besides the supercharger. I bet they could get it to 500hp. They have been doing some crazy stuff lately.

Yes, the ecoboost v6 is is a bad boy engine, just look at ecoboost F150 and you'll see why. It owns the competition!
If they put in the EcoBoost 6 they'd push it to over 400 and it would beat the v8. So I highly doubt that'll happen any time soon
The ecoboost v6 is too close to the same power as the v8. I wouldn't consider myself a mustang purist but I do love them including the svo so I don't see why having a turbo 4 is bad, it will have more power than the v6 and turbos are great for mods and tuning so power can easily be even more
I think they need to but the ecoboost v6 as the base engine. Then keep the V8 as the GT trim. I think it would sell like mad with that ecoboost v6

So this concept came out in 2007 before the camaro was released but the camaro concept predates this with its unveil at NAIAS in 2006. Either way I enjoyed this concept in that motortrend article.

This is the Guigario Design Ford Mustang. It was an Italian twist on an American icon. Although it looks like a concept, it actually is a functioning vehicle. It was seen in Monaco (French Riveria) a while back. 1 of 1

Those aren't rearview mirrors, those are actually cameras, the screens to see what thse cameras capture are in the dashboard. The upholstery is cowskin and the rooftop is completely glass connecting the roof with the rear window

Looks like the mustang concept forms while ago. Not sure how long ago, but remember seeing something very similar from motor trend.
It's made by an Italian design company and IMO the best looking mustang rendition to date.
This is a win in my opinion. I'm not really a huge mustang fan tho, but a car that looks like this for the price of a mustang is great idea.
@Rob They sold Aston Martin off but didn't get rid of the designers. The guy who used to design Astons sits in the same office he had with Ford, he just draws Lincoln's and Fords now.
I like the styling bit its a mustang. that doesn't look like a mustang. they should use this concept for a new car. not a mustang.
Look at the DBS, DB9, and the Vantage, there is slight similarity at the most. Stop over exaggerating, the only thing even slightly similar is the grill and it's still too far away to even matter.
For a company that sold off Aston Martin to India, they sure are pulling a lot of designs from that old drawing board. Must be the way they are going to go looking at these drawings and seeing the new Fusion, it is pretty obvious there are not many unique minded designers at Ford. However if I designed cars I would make eveeything look like an Aston too.

It's time for car makers to walk away from the retro/muscle-car look. The market of those looking to relive their childhood (baby-boomers) is starting to die off. They have to move on. This is a step in the right direction.

the '60s concept for the mustang was a 2 seater midengined sports car. those side scoops were meant for cooling the engine, but when they redesigned it for production, they just kept the side scoop for the look. kind of a trademark

I like the design. But its not a mustang design. Name it the "Ford Predator" or something, put a V8 in it, and sales will shoot through the sky.
this is just simple ford is moving the mustang to a higher class, wants to take on the big boys since they have nothing above the mustang, and thats fords bread and butter.
Put some slightly retro headlights and put a better hood on it, then I could live with this as the new mustang.
Finally moving the Mustang into the future. Current look is very long in the tooth.

My first car was a 4 cylinder Mustang. I don't have a problem with a 4 cylinder Mustang. It was a very good car @ the time. I'm sure that the new one will be as well.
