Description: There's been quite of a lot of chatter recently regarding the details of the 2015 Ford Mustang. As you're all probably aware, the iconic pony car will be redesigned just in time for its 50th...Add Comments1
Don FloydJun 17, 2012 My first car was a 4 cylinder Mustang. I don't have a problem with a 4 cylinder Mustang. It was a very good car @ the time. I'm sure that the new one will be as well.
Jarle HellelandAug 10, 2012 The mustangs shoud look mostely strong not fast..
But i liked the 71 - 73 mustang fastback more.
Felix Xavier Gonzalez FrancoJul 11, 2012 Wouldn't the pony look cool with 3 or 4 doors but like a RX-8. Not only would ford sell more mustang to young families.
Ethan AmoJun 18, 2012 This design is not a mustang, this is crap
Taylor LittleJun 18, 2012 Even so there is two years before the thing comes out it could change a hundred times over. But you are correct.
William DownsJun 18, 2012 @taylor, yes but if u go back and read the article, a man from ford confirms that its extremly close
Juan José BrownJun 18, 2012 I'm not a muscle cars fan, but I would definitely consider this one
Taylor LittleJun 18, 2012 The muscle of muscle car is in the engine. Second this is not from ford this is a rendering by INSIDELINE.
Scotty GeeJun 18, 2012 Now that's a nice evolution. Not too retro but still Mustang-looking..
Grant McHendryJun 17, 2012 I love this concept. I wouldn't mind this being the Mustang, but they need to make it a little more aggresive.
Val BarataJun 17, 2012 I'm a huge mustang fan, own one. I like this a lot :)
Phillip HolbrookJun 17, 2012 Everybody doesn't understand that the reason the Mustang will never compete with the Vette or Viper is because it has too many seats. HP and muscle car status aside a 2+2 grand touring (that's GT) coupe will never compete with a 2 seat sports car.
William DownsJun 17, 2012 once this comes out and if they do it rite and its bests the vette and viper you all will change your view on it real quick
Shane JansenJun 17, 2012 Sure it looks aggressive, but it's no mustang. It looks good, but I'd be so disappointed if it was under the Mustang name.
Esam MohammadJun 17, 2012 I like the current mustang more ..
This thing isn't a muscle car
Wyatt GordonJun 17, 2012 Blasphemy, and i dont even like mustangs
Kev BerkelJun 17, 2012 Word Trent the SVO was sick
Guo-Sheng HuangJun 17, 2012 I agree with Quinn. It is a Taurus coupe, not a Mustang.
Trent GriffinJun 17, 2012 Not like they haven't done a turbo 4 in a Mustang before....remember the SVO?
Hank AustinJun 17, 2012 @justin it's going to change so much because they are targeting a whole new generation of buyers... They're switching from baby boomers (who mainly like classics) to way newer generations (who like new exotic stuff (mainly))
Aislin CooperJun 17, 2012 This is terrible. The current one is the best they've looked in my opinion
Thomas TrudzinskiJun 17, 2012 The back does not flow with the front lines...
William DownsJun 17, 2012 @tin... gt500 cant compete with the zr1 and viper, it barley keeps with the zl1 around a track, just alot of hp with bad suspension
Daniel FinstadJun 17, 2012 I don't like the squinty headlights... A little too much European in an American car.
Tin NguyenJun 17, 2012 William, the gt500 is more than enough to fight the viper and zr1.
Chris PenzaJun 17, 2012 This is hideous. Ford is most likely going to kill the age of muscle cars AGAIN
Zaire WilkinsJun 17, 2012 even though its a rendering its most likely to look like this if not it will be close
William DownsJun 17, 2012 it will do fine as long as its still a v8 with rwd, it would still be muscle, just a sporty side of muscle witch ford dosent have anymore since there is no ford gt, ford has nothing to fight the viper or zr1, mustangs gonna have to start doing double duty
Joel HayesJun 17, 2012 Oh dear. Once again people think that a rendering is actually an image from the manufacturer...
Stephen SharpJun 17, 2012 At the front It's just a fusion with a mustang badge. What was ford thinking?
Jeremy StewartJun 17, 2012 The day the mustang starts looking like the fusion is the day it loses it's muscle
Alex SmithJun 17, 2012 They didn't change up the side very much.
Ryan Delano ThomasJun 17, 2012 I personally like it, it goes with ford's new design language. I think the mustang needs to remember its past, not relive it. And hopefully by charging forward in 50 years it will be more iconic than the classic today.
Jason ColkittJun 17, 2012 I love these mustangs.... And I normally despise all mustangs period. Can't WAIT
Jackson MichaelJun 17, 2012 Ya guys this rendering by an outside group sucks, so let's all not buy mustangs!
Jamal AfzalJun 17, 2012 Where is the muscle??? I dont see in all the pics....
Justin KlumppJun 17, 2012 What is it supposed to be mixed with an aston martin? What happened to the old boxy mustangs. This is why i have given up with them and stuck with Camaro. I like the classic styling mixed with modern elements. This hardly shows that
Quinn ShannonJun 17, 2012 I think it looks really similar to the 2013 Taurus..

Paul M NorbergJun 18, 2012 I think the 4 woulnt be the base, but the base v6 will have 25% more then now.
Devin BabynJun 17, 2012 When did we hit a fuel crisis? I thought it was all just a bunch of Eco bs
Phillip HolbrookJun 17, 2012 Yes Christian they are this is why muscle cars are getting smaller engines, thus pissing off everyone.
Jamie PerigoJun 17, 2012 Car buzz needs to work on their math
Michael Emery SmithJun 17, 2012 Oh be quite Christian. Jeremy Clarkson's not worried about it and He's English.
Shane JansenJun 17, 2012 More horsepower and a hold your embarrassed to open.
Brandon LidyJun 17, 2012 Correction, those who can afford the v8 will buy the v8. Those who can't, will buy the 4 banger. And 330hp is still enough to get into trouble
Clint EdwardsJun 17, 2012 Yeah, I'm not thrilled about the idea but the base model is bought by people who couldn't care less about power or speed and just want a mustang for looks. No real loss there
Scott LenahanJun 17, 2012 Girls will buy the 4 cylinder, guys will buy the V8.. Simple as that.
Austin BrideJun 17, 2012 Evan you hate mustangs because a future mustang may sound like a ricer? That's an odd reason.
Garrett CarpenterJun 17, 2012 Good call Alexander! Just noticed that also. Haha
Evan CookJun 17, 2012 It's gunna sound like a ricer and that's why I hate mustangs.
Alexander OcasioJun 17, 2012 How is it 25 percent horsepower advantage, it is just 25 more horsepower the current v6 has 300+. 25% of 300 is 75 and that is not 330
Kai Andrew CarlsonJun 17, 2012 The SVO was a fun car. I've never really like mustangs but I'm glad they are going back to a 4 turbo.
Zachary MaurerJun 17, 2012 And so was the mustang two...and that was not fast
Cory WilhelmJun 17, 2012 The SVO was a 4banger. And a quick one at that.
Tim PreisingerJun 17, 2012 I still don't like the idea of a 4 banger mustang, but your right... As long as they keep the V8 ok the GT's I'll get over it
John SerelyJun 17, 2012 As long as they keep the v8 as the engine fit the GT, im fine with it
Description: Ford is also aiming to increase efficiency as much as possible and dropping the V6 in favor of this turbocharged four-pot should do the trick. AutoExpress also claims the 2.3-liter turbo EcoBoost shou...Add Comments25
Vince CassiAug 11, 2012 Maybe Ford should make a V10 mustang? It would have more power than the GT500. The GT500 could keep its current engine, but the V10 would be for the people wanting a mustang that has more factory horsepower and more room for tuning. Ford could squeeze more power out of this engine for future models.
Jason BellJun 20, 2012 I say the 3.7 stays the base engine. the 3.5 ecoboost is the v6 premium and gt gets the 5.0 from the boss with 450 hp. the boss can then be a stripped out lighter version of the gt.
Sheldon CouchJun 18, 2012 I'm with Kyle, drop some weight and the car with three four pot will work, also could attract new buyers to the Mustan
Kyle SchottJun 17, 2012 Yes, that would make the base mustang slower than the top of the line focus rs, but the base mustang should retain its 23k dollar base price while the focus rs will be over 30k. 330hp and RWD for 23k would be quite a deal.
Kyle SchottJun 17, 2012 This is to replace the V6, not the V8. The GT will still have the V8. I would much rather have a turbo 4 than a V6 any day. Especially if it's 330 hp, still RWD, and still gets 30 mpg. That would be hard to beat.
Michael RileyJun 17, 2012 so the base mustang will have the same amount of power as a ford focus, and be heavier, so the base mustang with be slower than a focus? wtf?
Devin BabynJun 17, 2012 I've wanted them to do a EcoBoost v8 ever since they started doing the EcoBoost engines. It would be one upic motor
Jethroll SarduyJun 17, 2012 I have a great idea, how about we contact Ford and ask them to make a V8 ecoboost engine just for the new Mustang and call it a day! What do you guys think?
Andrew PalmerJun 17, 2012 I like the idea, but I am not really a rabid mustang fan....if they'd keep it rwd, drop 500 lbs, and use this motor I'd be happy...
Dillon DixonJun 17, 2012 Thing is Sheldon, I don't want to remember the 4cyl mustangs. I don't want to see a mustang in the road and then hear the annoying sound of a turbo 4. No, just no.
Sheldon CouchJun 17, 2012 I guess no mustang purist will remember Ford has already put a turbo 2.3 in a mustang in the 80s mustang svo ring a bell? Car was great, recaro seats fully adjustable koni suspension, car was an auto cross killer. Only downside to now though is this version of the mustang is entirely too heavy for a 4 pot, they need to shed some lbs. for it to work
Dillon DixonJun 17, 2012 Put in some of the tech from the 13 gt500 besides the supercharger. I bet they could get it to 500hp. They have been doing some crazy stuff lately.
Devin BabynJun 17, 2012 They wouldn't be able to get the numbers high enough if they kept it n/a though. So it just won't happen till they can
Dillon DixonJun 17, 2012 Well then they need to up the HP on the V8. Nothing wrong with that.
Jethroll SarduyJun 17, 2012 Yes, the ecoboost v6 is is a bad boy engine, just look at ecoboost F150 and you'll see why. It owns the competition!
Devin BabynJun 17, 2012 If they put in the EcoBoost 6 they'd push it to over 400 and it would beat the v8. So I highly doubt that'll happen any time soon
Stephen KraneJun 17, 2012 The ecoboost v6 is too close to the same power as the v8. I wouldn't consider myself a mustang purist but I do love them including the svo so I don't see why having a turbo 4 is bad, it will have more power than the v6 and turbos are great for mods and tuning so power can easily be even more
Dillon DixonJun 17, 2012 I think they need to but the ecoboost v6 as the base engine. Then keep the V8 as the GT trim. I think it would sell like mad with that ecoboost v6
Brock BulbulJun 17, 2012 *are
And mustangs have had 4-bangers before. I don't see why it would be a problem now. Especially considering it's putting out 330 horse.
Besim HojhalliJun 17, 2012 Purist would still go for the v8. Mainstream would probably take the four banger
Alex SmithJun 17, 2012 Yes I really want EcoBoost in my muscle cars. Now Chevrolet should make the Camaro a hybrid.
Christian De PriscoJun 17, 2012 I think they could finally sell mustangs in Europe with this engine
Adam SampsonJun 17, 2012 Real purists can continue to buy the V8, I see no problem?
JoshuaJun 17, 2012 Mustang purist hitting the fan in 3-2-1....
Jason RosasJun 18, 2012 So this concept came out in 2007 before the camaro was released but the camaro concept predates this with its unveil at NAIAS in 2006. Either way I enjoyed this concept in that motortrend article.
Antonio BorjaJun 18, 2012 if this looks like the new camaro then gm bit off this shit. this is a old pic. trust it won't look like this
Adam CalderJun 18, 2012 this looks terrible,it looks like a camaro!
Braydon PackJun 17, 2012 Why would they design there car like their rival it's basically a camero with mustang
Nate MataJun 17, 2012 This car was designed in the 90's .. Every year ford does something to make it look closer.. A guy in London owns this concept
Scott WestphallJun 17, 2012 Looks like the camero. Especially the rear fenders. I reject this concept.
Evio LandaJun 17, 2012 This is the Guigario Design Ford Mustang. It was an Italian twist on an American icon. Although it looks like a concept, it actually is a functioning vehicle. It was seen in Monaco (French Riveria) a while back. 1 of 1
Sivert GrandeJun 17, 2012 How the heck can you guys compare this to a Camaro? Looks more like a real Mustang to me.
Brendon DavisJun 17, 2012 Jahaziel: Yes, this was designed by Giugaro, an Italian desinerZ
David WallaceJun 17, 2012 Looks kind of like a camaro
Jahaziel OrtizJun 17, 2012 This is an older version designed by an Italian or at Italy I think, bits its had a couple years now
Esam MohammadJun 17, 2012 This one looks 100 times better
Luis Daniel AngilelloJun 17, 2012 Those aren't rearview mirrors, those are actually cameras, the screens to see what thse cameras capture are in the dashboard. The upholstery is cowskin and the rooftop is completely glass connecting the roof with the rear window
Mark A. YoungJun 17, 2012 Help me, I can't hide from it's hideousness
Brendon DavisJun 17, 2012 Ladies, you're all pretty. It looks like an Aston Martin because this Mustang was designed by Giugaro, and it LOOKS dated because it was a CONCEPT IN 2007! This car is not bad, though, but it, as said with others, it needs a newer design woth
Hank AustinJun 17, 2012 This already looks really dated, I don't think it'll be good enough to compete... And @evan they didn't steal anything from the Camaro (as a million people have already said) and they can't steal from Aston because they are Aston (or were)
Dominic KeiltyJun 17, 2012 Ford hasn't owned Aston for awhile...
Stephen Tyler LearnJun 17, 2012 This and the camaro came out at the same time. Also ford doesn't own Aston Martin anymore
Stephen KraneJun 17, 2012 Why is everyone complaining that the mustang concepts resemble an Aston, how is that a bad thing. Also ford owns Aston so designers may overlap
Domi BsaibesJun 17, 2012 This one's the best, except that they have to facelift it and change tgose lights, that way it'll look as an updated mustang and it won't look like anything else
Jake Ian RuffJun 17, 2012 This was in a motor trend issue from 2007
Dillon DixonJun 17, 2012 This is a very old concept. Some of you people need to read some comments. I swear some people.
Erick BernalJun 17, 2012 @Evan. For the fifth time this was designed before the Camaro.
Besim HojhalliJun 17, 2012 I like this one. Tone it down and it would be perfect for release imo
Evan CookJun 17, 2012 Man ford can't even come up with their own styling. First it looks like an aston Martin and now a camaro
Alex SemaanJun 17, 2012 Yeah this was from the 07 Detroit auto show...so if anything chevy copied this.
Jake FyockJun 17, 2012 Yuck It looks like a ford and orange version of bumble bitch. Let's keep the mustang a mustang not turn it into a camaro clone
Ryan Delano ThomasJun 17, 2012 Ehhh I guess it'd be a cool aftermarket body. It'd be different from anything in the road
Jason BrownJun 17, 2012 Looks like the mustang concept forms while ago. Not sure how long ago, but remember seeing something very similar from motor trend.
Colby ChurchJun 17, 2012 It's made by an Italian design company and IMO the best looking mustang rendition to date.
Michael HallJun 17, 2012 This looks like crap. It's becoming a Taurus.
Zachary MaurerJun 17, 2012 Wasn't this the mustang concept from like 6 years ago?
Taylor LittleJun 20, 2012 It grows on you after a while.
Ryan HeetderksJun 20, 2012 Whoever rendered this is a genius.
James Patrick DelaneyJun 19, 2012 This is a win in my opinion. I'm not really a huge mustang fan tho, but a car that looks like this for the price of a mustang is great idea.
Phillip HolbrookJun 19, 2012 @Rob They sold Aston Martin off but didn't get rid of the designers. The guy who used to design Astons sits in the same office he had with Ford, he just draws Lincoln's and Fords now.
Taylor LittleJun 18, 2012 That's how the mustang looks in the back.
Taylor LittleJun 18, 2012 Look at the DBS, DB9, and the Vantage, there is slight similarity at the most. Stop over exaggerating, the only thing even slightly similar is the grill and it's still too far away to even matter.
Rob WrightJun 17, 2012 For a company that sold off Aston Martin to India, they sure are pulling a lot of designs from that old drawing board. Must be the way they are going to go looking at these drawings and seeing the new Fusion, it is pretty obvious there are not many unique minded designers at Ford. However if I designed cars I would make eveeything look like an Aston too.
Kyle KloewerJun 17, 2012 I agree Steve and Taylor. It's just their attempt to make money in the car industry
Taylor LittleJun 17, 2012 Negativity isn't going to get us anywhere. An they sure can't keep the current body style for another decade, I love it but it's getting old
Steve WaskiewiczJun 17, 2012 It's time for car makers to walk away from the retro/muscle-car look. The market of those looking to relive their childhood (baby-boomers) is starting to die off. They have to move on. This is a step in the right direction.
Taylor LittleJun 17, 2012 I don't see why everyone is hating on this car, sure it may not be how we see the Mustang but maybe it will be the next standard for American muscle, pull your heads out of your asses it's time to take a chance to make something amazing. The
Matt PiccoloJun 17, 2012 This is sexy!!! :) but it doesn't belong under the mustang name
Kyle KloewerJun 17, 2012 Whatever but a change can ruin a car's history. Those older than me remember the mustang as a all out muscle car. This however is not and it will never be. Thats just the thing though, neither is the corvette so it's okay.
Quint DoJun 17, 2012 You're suppose to take what you have and make it better not take what's better and make it worst. Ford need to make the mustang better, not turn an Aston martin into a piece of shit!
Ember ZimmermanJun 17, 2012 It's pretty bad ass! This change is for the better. It's tough looking yet sporty. And must be a lot more aerodynamic...
Devin BabynJun 17, 2012 I don't get why people think it has to look like what a mustang always has looked like. Basically every other car in existence goes through a major design change why not a Stang. And don't say it's an icon so it has to stay the same. Change is good
No PistonsJun 17, 2012 Looked the same for 50 years
supra_mkivJun 17, 2012 This would be much better to look at than the modern mustang
Ben BourdonJun 17, 2012 Looks like it should have a Maserati badge instead
Jeremy BolenJun 17, 2012 This car honestly looks amazing just not branded as a mustang. They should modify this into a two a seater to compete with the corvette
Kyle AndersonJun 17, 2012 Yeah because this totally looks like a Mustang...
Kyle KloewerJun 17, 2012 Hit cuz they own Aston doesn't mean they should be able to make their shitty fords look like them. New mustangs=garbage
Josh LumanJun 17, 2012 There nice but there not Mustangs. Bottom line
Jerry ColeJun 17, 2012 the '60s concept for the mustang was a 2 seater midengined sports car. those side scoops were meant for cooling the engine, but when they redesigned it for production, they just kept the side scoop for the look. kind of a trademark
Jay LockwoodJun 17, 2012 Sorry but this new mustang is starting to look like the new Ford Taurus the mire I think about it :/
Guo-Sheng HuangJun 17, 2012 Looks good! But what's the big scoops behind the doors for? There is no engine there. And it is way too big for just brakes.
Hank AustinJun 17, 2012 This looks absolutely amazing and is by far my favorite out of the bunch... I hope ford takes some notes...
Brendon DavisJun 17, 2012 Jon, that will literally never happen with the Mustang.
This would look really nice for a new Mustang.
Devin BabynJun 17, 2012 Damn that's the best Stang concept I've ever seen. So beautiful but it does look like it deserves at least 500hp
Jon AshleyJun 17, 2012 I like the idea of a vette viper fighter, but I think it should be mid engined, like another GT.
Patrick SchalkJun 17, 2012 This looks amazing. But I agree about not calling it a Mustang. Ford should build this. They need a Vette/Viper fighter.
Zach PateJun 17, 2012 I like the design. But its not a mustang design. Name it the "Ford Predator" or something, put a V8 in it, and sales will shoot through the sky.
William DownsJun 17, 2012 this is just simple ford is moving the mustang to a higher class, wants to take on the big boys since they have nothing above the mustang, and thats fords bread and butter.
Calogero RumeoJun 17, 2012 I'm not a mustang guy but this is nice.
Taylor OlsonJun 17, 2012 Looks like ford stole Maserati's Granturismo design. So uncreative
Dillon DixonJun 17, 2012 Put some slightly retro headlights and put a better hood on it, then I could live with this as the new mustang.
Lee OleinickJun 17, 2012 Finally moving the Mustang into the future. Current look is very long in the tooth.
Victor A. FrederickJun 17, 2012 I would actually buy this, I would prolly trade in my Challenger R/T for it.
Ryan RunkleJun 17, 2012 They arent trying to relige the past here. They are trying to make the future Of muscle cars, this is going to make a global appeal and may even conpete with aston martin with a new suspension and upgrades.
Brandon MetzgerJun 17, 2012 I just hope they don't mess up the rear like they do with other concepts fairly often
Brandon MetzgerJun 17, 2012 I'm not gunna lie.. That looks pretty awesome
Harrison TrapnellJun 17, 2012 At the front it is just the Ford Evos Concept
My first car was a 4 cylinder Mustang. I don't have a problem with a 4 cylinder Mustang. It was a very good car @ the time. I'm sure that the new one will be as well.
