Carroll Shelby in Awe of 2013 Shelby GT500

The automotive legend gives the Shelby GT500 the once over with the car's engineers on hand to point out upgrades needed for it to deliver its mind-blowing performance.

As it transpires, the 2013 Shelby GT500 was the last car Carroll Shelby worked on with the automotive legend passing away on May 10th aged 89.

Tributes to the great man have been pouring in from all corners of the globe, and this recent video released by Ford documents Shelby being taken through the details of the magnificent muscle car. Engineers discuss the engine's overhaul, required in order to extract 662hp and 631lb-ft of torque from the 5.8-liter supercharged V8. Shelby is suitably impressed with their efforts, and was doubtless delighted to have seen the fastest and most powerful Mustang of all time come to life before he passed.
