Top Gear's James May wears the nickname 'Captain Slow' like a badge of honor. The good captain was anything but when he took the
Bugatti Veyron SuperSport for a then world production car record 417km/h (259mph) on the
Volkswagen Group's private Ehra-Lessien test track in Germany all the way back in November of 2006. He celebrated his world record with a jolly little jig even though he knew that professional driver Pierre Henri Raphanel was waiting in the wings to break his record.
