MINI Countryman Coupe Hits the Road for Some Pre-Production Testing

The product of the Paceman Concept is slowly coming into focus.
The Mini Paceman Concept made its debut at the 2011 Detroit Motor Show and was revealed to hit the market as the Countryman Coupe back in March. The automaker is now hard at work preparing the latest model for its production-spec debut at the 2012 Paris Motor Show this September. The Countryman Coupe is expected to carry the same engines and transmissions as its four-door predecessor.

That means that the Paceman's 1.6-liter turbocharged 4-cylinder engine has been scrapped, which is a shame since a 208hp and 192 lb-ft of torque motor would have been greatly appreciated on the 2-door Mini. The Mini Countryman Coupe should arrive on the market as a 2014 model when it makes its debut at the Paris Motor Show this September.
