2013 Ford Shelby GT500 Tested on the Dyno and Track

The magnificent muscle car is put to the test to see if it can live up to its huge performance potential.
With 662hp and 631lb-ft of torque, the GT 500 is currently the most powerful mass-produced V8 in the world.

Ford also claims their powerful pony car can hit a top speed of 200mph, but we have yet to see this being put to the test. Motor Trend's Ignition series recently put the GT500 through an instrumented testing gauntlet that included top speed tests on the dyno. This was followed by a track test with pro racer Randy Pobst behind the wheel attempting to crack the 200mph mark at one of Chrysler's proving grounds in Arizona. Will he make it?
