Ryan. Save yourself some money and cut off your roof with a cutter. Then let me know if the extra money would have been worth it or not.
Yeah just to cut the top off add in the extra structural components which adds weight so more power is needed and this one is actualy 7.0 not a 6.2 like the others so yeah its a little more expencive

I can definitely see how the roll cage would detract from the open top experience.
Well when youre in an open top you have the whole sky and everything whereas there it would feel like a prison kinda like you have bars over your head. But i could see how that wouldnt matter when youre driving this car.
@Michael learn to read i didnt say the rollcage was pointless i said it was pointless to go through all the trouble and money of making a spyder and having a huge rollcage that takes almost as much space as a roof. Of course you need the rollcage it would probably be illegal if it didnt have it.
If that roll cage wasn't there, the A pillar would crumble if that car rolled while doing 60mph. I'm sure if the car killed Steven Tyler in an accident, Hennessey would never sell another Venom again, not to mention all the lawsuits.
I've owned an Exige for a year now, and it is quite possibly the most difficult car to get in and out of, mostly due to the roof overhang and the giant sills. This looks even harder since the bar is even lower than the stock roof.
Look who's going to be driving it, he needs the roll cage. If anything, he just paid 1.1 mil for a coffin. Lol
Nothing better than paying an additional 150k for a roll cage inside of your spyder. Most people willing to upgrade to the spyder enjoy others parts of driving. Cheesy roll cage LAME
Thibault once again a stupid comment comes from you, you never disapoint. NOT having a roll cage in a spyder with 1244hp & a potential top speed of 275 is just stupid. If the roll cage is built right you may actually survive a high speed crash in it.
i find that it is a bit pointless to have a spyder if you have a rollcage on the car just ruins the point of it

That's what separates Gear Heads from the general public. I could care less if someone can't appreciate what a car like this can do. Their ignorance isn't gonna stop me from breaking my neck to look at it.
I think Hennessey should of kept this lightweight/overpowered idea but forget all about the lotus design cues and hire someone like Bertone or pininfarina to sketch up something unique.
Devin, I'm sure regular people don't even know what a Lotus is, so we know what it is, and regular people won't really care. I don't think anyone will mistake this for a lotus.
As someone with a few high end cars, I see the speed appeal, but I wouldn't part with 1.1m for this. I would take my Gallardo to UR and get the same performance, better looks, quality, brand, pedigree, for half the price. This is a dick measuring stick to size up with the Tautara, Veyron, CCX, Agera, etc, and when compared to those, this is rather boring.
Ive seen plenty of people eye up Lotuses on the road. They look really exotic. Now this...it will be eye-catching.

On some levels I have to agree with jester. With a quick glance this would easily be confused for a "hooked up" Lotus. To me a car that would fetch a mil should be unique like the Veyron, Enzo or CCX which would never be confused for something else.

OK, I finally found something I really like about this car: the stitching on the pads. So far the rest isn't worth a million to me. I think its being artificially kept high due to a very small run. If they were doing 100 cars, this would be 600 large, and would be about right for what it is. For 1.1mil I want something that will be noticed, this is too easy to ignore and looks like a kit.
