Call it the Gayron, I'm not a huge fan either. It's just when a car comes along that is just that good, you have to give it the respect it deserves. I've personally been up close and its an amazing car. If I had the choice though, I would take the Aventador and save some dough.
Yes they stopped making the original Veyron, but they still make the car. For 2013, it's the Veyron Grand Sport Vitesse.
@Michael VW is the richest car maker on the planet and around the 10th largest company in the world so i dont think they need other car makers money.
This Lotus with a tuned up Chevy motor is supposed to do 275. VW will only come back with the veyron, some monstrous edition, just cause it can. Which will go so fast that any other car will probably fall apart trying to beat it.
Just because VW owns a track with a 5 mile straight. Do you know how much that would cost? That doesn't make them weak, just small. That's like saying Pagani is weak bc they can't build a huge track to test their cars on.

@ Thibault, Actually If I were VW I'd have the facility open to any company that wants to max out their car, just charge them a fee for the day to do it. They could make a good bit charging companies to come and test their cars top speed.

Sad but true, Brian. There aren't very many places in the world where you can go that fast safely. SSC broke the speed record on a track in West Virginia and went almost 260 mph outside Las Vegas unofficially on a test run so I don't know what would stop HPE from going to the same track.

These (rear) tires are actually 335's. The widest ever on a production car are, big shocker, the Bugatti Veyron SS's at 365 mm.
It's not based on it's practically a pimped out version done by another company kinda like those saleen mustang things.
Hennessey takes cars and tunes them up. They took a lotus frame, tweaked the body pannels and all the other crap. Then slapped a modified corvette motor in it. Does that make it a Lotus or a Chevy. Certainly not a production car!

Here's the funny part, I wouldn't consider this car to be American. It's built in England, the only part that comes from here is the motor.
Maybe some will agree with me. The Veyron is a PRODUCTION vehicle. Designed by Germans and built in a factory in France by Bugatti. The Vemon is a Lotus monocoque and a Corvette motor, put together by a tuning company, and there only making 5.

This car was built to beat the veyron, but not the supersport. I think the V8 motor is kinda maxed out. I'm sure Bugatti can get a lot more power out of there V16. I also question the venoms build quality and reliability. Veyron is the best car ever made and I'm sure will never be surpassed.
