GEMBALLA Engineer Genuine Diamond Coating for Cars

Move over mirrored chrome and gold-plating, there’s a new player in town.

Gold-plated cars were once the pinnacle of ostentatious car finishes but they will soon be playing second fiddle to a new, more extravagant automotive finish that has been engineered using real diamonds. Porsche-tuner GEMBALLA claims to have created the world's first diamond coating for a vehicle's interior and exterior finish. "When GEMBALLA speaks of diamonds, we really mean it", explains CEO Andreas Schwarz.

By grinding the diamonds down into small enough pieces they are able to apply the rare gemstone like paint. As diamonds are a form of carbon, GEMBELLA claim their innovative new finish will not only offer an incomparably brilliant coating, but also represent the perfect finishing touch for ultra-exclusive cars' carbon-fiber body. The number of carats required to coat a car in diamond paint has yet to be revealed, nor has the price. We imagine it to be in the realms of stupid money, so don't expect it to appear on the shelves of your local hardware store anytime soon.
