Ford did take a bail out. Two years earlier but no bankruptcy. So did Toyota. Maybe they all did!
Josh ?hompson May 24, 2012
Ford saw it coming that's why they did all that. They would've been bailed out but they took loans and all that stuff.
Jared Palmer May 24, 2012
Borrow gov. money. Toyota and Honda both received a supplement from the Japanese gov. I work for a third tier Japanese company who was directly affected by the economy January 1 of 2008 (big shock to have your hours cut by 20%)
Jared Palmer May 24, 2012
Ford was forced to join government hearings along with GM and Chrysler, but Ford had been preparing for quite some time in raising capitol to update equipment and facilities. Ford was never at any risk of filing for bankruptcy or even needing to
David Griego May 24, 2012
bailed is when a company files for Bankruptcy, then the government interferes. Ford was not bailed out. They chose to get loans, loan were not forced upon them.
David Griego May 24, 2012
But they were "NOT" bailed out!
wfdowns May 24, 2012
ford took a load from the government then sold there stocks in other compays for i think it was 23billion, they still got help from the government, not doging ford, just stating a fact, only reason ford was able to save its self with little help cause they were smart and bought stock and owner ship of companys that were worth money, gm and chrysler didnt really have anything worth money they could...
David Griego May 24, 2012
and owns you and gives you money. Ford did not bail out.
wfdowns May 24, 2012
@jay where u find that info at cause there is nothing online and i never heard of honda or toyota needing a bail out so ima call bull shit till u show facts
wfdowns May 24, 2012
@ lee yes ford was bailed out in 2009, not the same way as chrysler and gm but it did recieve 5.9 billion in low-cost government loans to help update its factorys and produce more efficent vehicles, and so what if a company is bailed out, as long as they dont repeat the mistakes it not that big of a deal
Jay Mauran May 24, 2012
Get your facts straight Toyota & Honda both received bail-outs from Japan.
John Rigano May 24, 2012
neither........ Chevy!!!
Lee Riddle May 24, 2012
Rich you are the tard because ford didn't get bailed out
Rich Vuchetich May 24, 2012
you are a tard, if you think any American car company is better than the Japanese cars. in case you forgot....it was the American car companies that we bailed out.
Ivan Martinez May 25, 2012
Toyota should re re make the Camry to add more style. Just saying. Have you guys seen the new Chevy? It's the SS. I knew they were going to bring that over. Anyways. I hope they will create a better looking Camry in the future.
Jared Palmer May 24, 2012
But to call these "stock cars" is false advertisement in itself
Abraham Mendoza May 24, 2012
That Commercial where they turn one of these into a real Camry is complete bullshit and false advertising. I always yell or laugh when I see it.
wfdowns May 24, 2012
they been in nascar for years and do extremly well, but the fusion stock car looks way better then this
Stephen Cobbs May 24, 2012
@Tim where have you been?
Tim Butler May 24, 2012
Toyota camrys will never be a racecar
Description: Big, gold numbering stands out and pay tribute to Ford Design Studio's hard work. If the color scheme looks familiar, it is, as it mimics the 1976 Daytona 500 livery that David Pearson had on his...

What else would they be powered by?

@Abraham Dodge runs the Challenger in the NASCAR Nationwide Series, Ford also runs the Mustang in it. Chevy still uses the Impala SS and Toyota uses the Camry.
Abraham Mendoza May 24, 2012
What's the deal with Dodge sometimes using the Challenger in NASCAR races?
Jared Palmer May 24, 2012
Wfdowns, pretty cool if Chevy does use the Comadore
Josh ?hompson May 24, 2012
The Chevy ss stock car is gonna stick it to all of these
Mark A. Young May 24, 2012
Neither. The new dodge charger their using next year, it owns the looks category no question.
Paul Brodrecht May 24, 2012
Fusion hands down
Hektor Yberg May 24, 2012
Why did they even ask?
mark9241 May 24, 2012
It's no contest ! The Fusion !
wfdowns May 24, 2012
agree fusion looks way better now were just waiting on chevy to show there hand
Colby Church May 24, 2012
Is this even a serious question? The fusion looks much better in every aspect. And this is coming from a Chevy guy. Toyota is okay, but they just make boring ugly cars for accountants and retired women named Martha.
David Griego May 25, 2012
I'm just saying it how it really is. How can people go through life so misinformed? Somebody has to state the facts.
Donald Pittman May 25, 2012
@David Sound a little fan boyish yourself there.
David Griego May 25, 2012
Well if anything, Ford is way ahead of it's two other counterparts Dodge or Chevy, I think your just a hating fanboy. (no offense) Ford is the best American global brand. Chevy and dodge are still trying to catch up to sales, production costs etc....
Payne Hodges Wilson May 25, 2012
Everything, with the exception of dodge and chevy trucks and a few models here and there I can't stand the vehicles that our country puts out. But that's just my opinion, but I will say that American cars have become much better the past few years
Josh Knight May 25, 2012
What's wrong with a Ford Payne?
Cory Allen May 24, 2012
It looks like an owl.
Paul Trahan May 24, 2012
I'll race whatever car a team will let me drive for.
Jason Rosas May 24, 2012
Ford, next question.
Lee Gardner May 24, 2012
I toldally agree with pyne
Payne Hodges Wilson May 24, 2012
I would race a Toyota, if it means I don't have to drive a ford
Zachary Fix May 24, 2012
Who in their right mind would say " hey I like to race in a Toyota Camry "
Kumar Desi May 24, 2012
It his looks classy
Dale Schroeder May 24, 2012
No question, the Ford beats it by a wide margin. I do like the retro '80s style racing scheme they used here though.
Jim Jimm May 24, 2012
Taillights look likes japanese eyes
Christian Blakeley Sep 03, 2012
Ford has really outdone their selves. This a fast looking car but it looks too much like a Aston Martin, and I can't decide if that's a good thing or a bad thing.
Ryan Roy Jun 15, 2012
Way better looking than the Camry
abc123 May 29, 2012
the fusion all the way
Joshua Grant Robinson May 27, 2012
I definitely think Astons ownership by Ford inspired this design. I do love Aston's designs!
.JAY.JONES. May 26, 2012
I think I've fell in love, lol
Anthony Miller May 25, 2012
That's awesome looking for fusion
Abraham Kinghorn May 25, 2012
I dont know why, but from the front it very driscrietly reminds me of a DB9 .....
David Griego May 25, 2012
Wow, finally a nice looking economy car, I wish they had a 380HP EcoBoost Fusion RWD or AWD Coupe. I'd buy one in a heartbeat!
Kris Camp May 25, 2012
Too bad they don't have a 2 door version for the public
Ghee Buttersnaps May 25, 2012
Great looking car...
Abraham Mendoza May 24, 2012
Haha, thought the hood said Minecraft. Oh no...
Cole William Briggs May 24, 2012

Drew Storrusten May 24, 2012
Oh my god, I think I just became a NASCAR fan..... Lol
Jason Dannheim May 24, 2012
Finally, a NASCAR that resembles its production counterpart. It's been decades now.
Zach Long May 24, 2012
Love the old wood brothers design, very classy!
Phillip Holbrook May 24, 2012
A) Ford used to own Aston Martin B) When they sold them they were fortunate enough to keep the engineers C) I think it's hilarious that at the time of my post, there is one post for the Toyota (that is slightly racist) and all the ones you see here
Patrick Schalk May 24, 2012
This looks really badass. Build a production Fusion like this Ford.
Henz Herrero May 24, 2012
Did they release the pricing for this car? It looks like a full size now instead of a midsize sedan..
Matthew Mckernan May 24, 2012
Wow, that looks really good
Devin Babyn May 24, 2012
Damn everything blacked out in the front just looks mean as hell
Jim Jimm May 24, 2012
I agree with kumar it looks like a Mitsubishi or something it doesn't look like a stock car
Razor Curtiss May 24, 2012
Fusion all the way
jester May 24, 2012
Ford hasn't owned Aston in a few years now.
wfdowns May 24, 2012
its a hard choice... between this and the dodge, camry got nothing on either, cant wait for chevy to finally show there car
Tim Preisinger May 24, 2012
Yup, this looks good
Justin Thornburgh May 24, 2012
Ford=America NASCAR=America Isn't it obvious which one is better
Cory Allen May 24, 2012
That looks sick!
Jackson Rojas May 24, 2012
this looks amazing
Alex Bouckley May 24, 2012
That's exactly why this is better. It looks like an Aston!
Chris Bridgers May 24, 2012
I love that front end
Scott Kennedy May 24, 2012
Is that even a question. The fusion looks insane
Zach Sullivan May 24, 2012

Jackson Michael May 24, 2012
What??? A good looking NASCAR car? I never thought I'd live to see the day.
Kumar Desi May 24, 2012
I am surprised the camera looked more "American" this looks like a tuner street car
Stephen Cobbs May 24, 2012
Is this even up for discussion?
Austin Marks May 24, 2012
Ford owns a part of Aston Martin
jberaza May 24, 2012
I thought the article said it was a Ford fusion. This is obviously a Aston Martin!
Sam Oglesby May 24, 2012
Looks way better
Tim Butler May 24, 2012
I think this is way better than the jap crap Toyota
Kyle Smith May 24, 2012
Looks mean!! Like it!!
Drake Nailon May 24, 2012
Without a doubt I choose the fusion. Very aggressive looking!
Casey Cotton May 24, 2012
Hands down, the Fusion looks FAR better than the Camry!
abc123 May 29, 2012
the fusion looks waaaay better then the camry..... except the back
Joshua Grant Robinson May 27, 2012
Toyota! But based on looks, well I guess I'd have to pick the Ford. I may have to get a thermometer I may be running a fever!! Haha!
Abraham Mendoza May 24, 2012
They really need to make a rear drive coupe with a V8. Oh wait....
Rich Vuchetich May 24, 2012
Toyota anyday....all day over Ford.
Kevin Rehbock May 24, 2012
It looks like a generic stock car.
Mikey Jimenez May 24, 2012
Look more like a maxima.
Henz Herrero May 24, 2012
Back is like the optima.. Wtf?
Hektor Yberg May 24, 2012
All NASCAR backs are ugly but I agree
