Revealed: Peugeot 301 Compact Sedan Headed to Paris

Peugeot has released a new car aimed at emerging markets.

Peugeot is marketing their four-door 301 sedan towards emerging markets and after a long, drawn out development phase (which was caught a couple of times by our spy photographers), the compact sedan has finally been revealed in full. The production version of the Peugeot 301 uses a pair of gasoline plants and one diesel. The gasoline line-up comprises of a 70hp 1.2-liter 3-cylinder VTi engine and a 114hp 1.6-liter VTi engine.

The lone diesel plant is a 1.6-liter HDi plant rated at 91hp. All the engines are available mated to either a manual or automatic transmission. The new Peugeot 301 is packed with safety equipment, such as ABS, emergency brake assist and four airbags. The compact sedan also features Bluetooth, USB connectivity, hands-free phone kit and rear parking assistance. Peugeot will give the 301 compact sedan its world debut at the 2012 Paris Motor Show in September and begin sales in Turkey in November. Eventually the 301 will go on sale in Central and Eastern Europe followed by Africa, Russia and Latin America.
