2013 SRT Viper GTS: You’ve Seen it, Now Hear it

Even at low speeds, hearing that 8.4-liter V10 rumble is music to our ears.

We've been waiting for the chance to hear that 8.4-liter V10 rumble and thanks to the Fair Oaks Chrysler, Jeep, Dodge & Ram dealership in Virginia, here it is. This is the same model that appeared at the NYC Auto Show in April, and the state-of-the-art engineering masterpiece delivering 640hp and 600lb-ft of torque is looking better than ever. Set to go on sale at the end of this year, buyers will have their choice of two trims: base and GTS.

For the latter, buyers will be treated to a new driver-selectable two-mode suspension system, even more Sport and Track settings for the stability control system, unique wheel designs and Nappa leather.

Both trims ride on sickeningly wide Pirelli P Zero 295/30-18 up front and 355/30-19 in the rear. Buyers can also choose between polished, black or even matte-black finishes. There's also an optional SRT Track Package that adds ultra-lightweight wheels. Pricing starts a bit over the last model, coming in just north of $100,000 and around $120,000 for the GTS. The first production Viper will be auctioned off to benefit the Austin Hatcher Foundation for Pediatric Cancer. Set to take place at the Barrett-Jackson Orange County auction this June 22 - 24, it's expected this special Viper will go for an amount significantly higher than its estimated $100,000.
