MegaGallery: 40 Years of BMW M

BMW is celebrating 40 years of their M division.

This month marks the 40th anniversary of the inception of BMW's M division. The Motorsport department began back in 1972 with only 8 employees. By 1988, BMW Motorsport had 400 employees and now it is the heart and soul of the performance-minded Bimmers you see on the streets. BMW is celebrating the occasion with several events and the German automaker has just released a set of 50 iconic images that they feel best represent the storied history of their M-badged models.
