BMW E84 X1 Finally Coming to America, Pricing Info Released

BMW is expanding their lineup in the U.S. with the xDrive28i and xDrive35i.
According to reports around the web, BMW's entry level SUV will finally be making its way to the U.S. The 2013 X1 will make its official debut at the 2012 New York International Auto Show and BMW has released photos and pricing information today of their latest model to make the trip across the pond. The 2013 BMW X1 will be offered in two trims, the xDrive28i and the xDrive35i. The former carries the new 240hp 2.0-liter turbocharged 4-cylinder engine, complete with the efficient stop-start tech.

The latter packs a 300hp 3.0-liter turbocharged inline-six plant. Both versions are mated to a ZF-sourced eight-speed automatic gearbox which sends power to the rear wheels, however the xDrive35i will have an optional all-wheel-drive configuration. The BMW X1 sits below the X3, weighing in at around 3,700lbs. The crossover has received a slight facelift for 2013 and will compete against the Acura RDX, Range Rover Evoque and Audi Q3. Pricing for the X1 xDrive28i starts at $31,545 while the X1 xDrive35i prices at $39,345. On a side note, the BMW X1 has been and will continue to be produced at BMW's plant in Leipzig, Germany.
