Audi Q3 Jinlong Yufeng Concept Comes to Beijing

This is the last of a hat-trick of concepts Audi has presented at the auto show.

Audi has brought two themed vehicles based on the Q3 to Beijing to showcase the versatility of the compact SUV that is set to launch in China this year. Jinlong yufeng means 'Golden Dragon in the Wind,' and the themed Q3 is based on the sport of kitesurfing with two kiteboards mounted on the roof. Sturdy and compact sport cameras dubbed 'Audi Cams' are located in the cargo area and can be mounted to the sail bar, equipment or helmet with images transmitted to the car via a WLAN router connection.

The body is finished in a luminous monochrome color of Liuli Yellow with body-on parts painted in matt quartz. Xenon plus headlights are tinted in anthracite, while aluminum has been used on the air intakes and underbody guard. The front cross-bar of the aluminum roof rail integrates LED spotlights to light up the area around the car, and at the back a dual-branch exhaust system has two flush tailpipes integrated in the diffuser. Matt quartz 20-inch machined-polished 5-arm alloys match the single-frame grille in appearance. Inside, colors of black, grey and yellow dominate the cabin.

The instrument panel is upholstered in Nappa leather with yellow contrasting stitching, the leather-trimmed steering wheel has contrasting yellow seams, and the woven leather seats are accentuated by yellow piping. Power comes from a turbocharged 2.5-liter TFSI capable of 310hp, mated to a seven-speed S tronic and that flows to the quattro permanent AWD. The Audi Q3 jinlong yufeng can reach 62mph from standstill in 5.5 seconds and hit a top speed of 155mph.
