Lotus Exige S Roadster Unveiled at Geneva

Offered with a factory-fitted soft-top fabric roof and 3.5-liter V6, the Exige Roadster S is Lotus’ quickest soft top ever.

With a top speed of 145mph, the Exige S roadster is the fastest drop top Lotus has ever built. Sharing the same 3.5-liter V6 engine as the new Exige S coupe with 345hp and 295lb-ft of torque, the 1,100kg open-top roadster can sprint from 0-60 mph in 3.8 seconds and 0-100mph in 8.5 seconds. Putting that in perspective, a 991-gen Porsche 911 Carrera that also boasts 345hp can manages the century sprint in 4.8 seconds.

There's a six-speed manual gearbox and an optional SPS (Serial Precision Shift) paddle-operated automated manual transmission system. For the manual, fuel economy is quoted as 28mpg with CO2 emissions of 236g/km. An optional race pack adds track-optimized suspension settings and launch control, while two cabin options are offered: one stripped down and sporty, the other more comfort-orientated. There's no news on price but the Lotus Exige S Roadster will target the Asian market and be offered in Europe, while the US misses out.
