Hyundai Teases 2013 Santa Fe Before New York Debut

The next Hyundai Santa Fe is previewed here for the first time ahead of its New York Auto Show debut.

Just as the press days of the Geneva Motor Show end, we're already gearing up for the next significant auto show. And it'll be taking place in the Big Apple. The 2012 New York Auto Show will open next month and while it's certainly not as big as Geneva or Detroit, it's still relevant enough for SRT to reveal their all-new 2013 Viper. At the same time, plenty of other automakers will be taking the opportunity to reveal new models that they rely heavily upon.

For South Korean automaker Hyundai, one of those models is their best-selling Santa Fe crossover. The 2013 Santa Fe will be making its official debut next month and Hyundai has just released via Twitter these two renderings of the new model. From what we can tell, the differences between this and the outgoing model appear to be quite dramatic. Similar to their departure from the old to the new Sonata sedan, the Santa Fe is set to be the recipient of the automaker's latest styling language, which they're calling 'Storm Edge', a supposed evolution of their current 'Fluidic Sculpture'.

The new Santa Fe will continue to be a two-row crossover that will compete with the likes of the Ford Edge and Toyota Venza. Judging by these two images, we think it's fair to say that Hyundai will once again have another sales hit on their hands. Just look at the Sonata and Elantra for further proof.
