There were some pretty sweet 4wd Eclipses, though. Turboed too. But they're rare as all hell to find nowadays, so the average eclipse is indeed riced to shit and slow. Also, Infiniti, please to mar the GTR name with your badge. Bullshit.
Shane Heid Feb 10, 2012
Also if you want something no body else has then don't get a mustang.
Shane Heid Feb 10, 2012
And that's ass backwards. An that wolf is probably pissed
Shane Heid Feb 10, 2012
@ford fan, yes I'm very cocky when someone tries to tell me an eclipse is fast. I will race your riced out Mitsubishi any day and kill it. An eclipse is a sheep in wolf's clothing
Matt Moeller Feb 10, 2012
Freakin awesome! Infiniti always does a great job with its vehicles. Go Nissan!
Teddy MacDonell Feb 10, 2012
@Patrick and Elijah, all the xlr needed was an LS drivetrain, doing a swap on one would be raw
Jayson Lankster Feb 10, 2012
will have different stuff going on. I'd still kill for a G37. that thing can be tuned to a monster. extremely fast.
Jayson Lankster Feb 10, 2012
/ tuner car like the gtr but it will be high class. don't worry gtr fans, they will have their distinctions that will set them way apart for sure and even if they use the same platform, that doesn't mean they will be tuned to the same specs and they
Jayson Lankster Feb 10, 2012
I would like to remind everybody that Infiniti has already made some badass 2 doors like the G37. that thing can be tuned to go extremely fast. I mean seriously, I drove it stock and it's a rocket. so why not do this ? it's not going to be an exotic
Mic Wong Feb 09, 2012
The one who decided to detach GTR from skyline is a genius
James Patrick Delaney Feb 09, 2012
IMO this would be a winner, especially after seeing the panamera. I love ass kicker four doors, and although it'll be heavier and lack the handling it'd be perfect for a family man who doesn't want to lose performance.
Kenneth Williams Feb 09, 2012
It's purpose built and serves that purpose well. People don't buy it for all the comfort in the world. If you complain about driving te car then it's not for you
John Serely Feb 09, 2012
I would love to see one of these (if they make it lol)
Zaire Wilkins Feb 09, 2012
ok infiniti i think should do this and their EV supercar but they should also make a Q63 6.3 liter V8 from mercedes 550hp with a AWD option and put it in forza 4 :)
No Pistons Feb 09, 2012
Should be interesting, Infiniti is working with redbull so it should have some neat tech if it carries down
Christopher McSween Feb 09, 2012
Rockstar I agree. Infiniti should concentrate on dominating the 7series, S class, & A8. Bring back the Q. With cars like the Hyundai Equius on the market...
rockstarTc Feb 09, 2012
I really hope they dont do this. The GTR is one of the best cars in the world. I would not want them to make another copy of this prestigious vehicle. There is only one GTR and they should keep it that way.
Jared Palmer Feb 09, 2012
4 doors, MB CL63 and Panamerica watch out!
Patrick Schalk Feb 09, 2012
Yeah that's true I forgot about that thing. The XLR is just eh though.
Elijah McCord Feb 09, 2012
@Patrick Cadillac already made a car with the corvette platform, its called the XLR and it looks awesome.
Josh ?hompson Feb 09, 2012
It would probably be a luxury version probably way more expensive but also heavier so it wouldn't compete with the Nissan
Paul Lissona Feb 09, 2012
Ik it's weird people are saying Infiniti can't, when their the higher part of Nissan.
Tom Mcleod Feb 09, 2012
@billy, why is there no way Infiniti can make a car half as good as the GT-R? Infiniti IS Nissan.
Bob Jones Feb 09, 2012
I'm a huge GTR fan and I actually hope this happens, it could be like what the R8 is to the Gallardo, or what the CT-V is to the ZL1.
Dylan Bruder Feb 09, 2012
If they were smart maybe use gtr platform to make a 4 door coupe of some sort I think that could sell well
Patrick Schalk Feb 09, 2012
I dunno. I'd be pissed if GMC or Buick used a Corvette based car. Just seems weird to make a watered down version of one of the most iconic cars ever created (GTR).
Jordan Smith Feb 09, 2012
I thought they already considered making their version as a 4 door a while back?
Michael Gallagher Feb 09, 2012
I'm confused. Why is it a dad day?
Patrick Schalk Feb 09, 2012
Sad day for GTR fans.
Tomas Franquelli Feb 13, 2012
This car is amazing, I hate Infiniti so I hope they don't badge-engineer this, and for the love of God I wish someone would bad Ford-Fan already.
rockstarTc Feb 12, 2012
yeah cause im not a dumb ass and put that much money in a car thats not worth it.
rockstarTc Feb 11, 2012
why put your money into that when you can use it to buy your ford gt. Be careful though because its a little faster then your eclipse
rockstarTc Feb 11, 2012
@fordfan so basically you put a shit load of money into to a shitty car, that has bad torque steer now.
Patrick Schalk Feb 11, 2012
Only Mustangs I would like to have are an 03 Cobra and an 08 GT500.
rockstarTc Feb 11, 2012
what ford fan meant to say he is saving up for another eclipse cause they are so damn fast in his opinion!
Dale Fredriks Feb 10, 2012
My 2 cents: I absolutely love this car for its performance, looks, and price. It, along with the Ariel Atom, are the best bang for your buck cars around. Yes, it isn't very photogenic, but if you see a black one at night... breathtaking. In my book.
Zaire Wilkins Feb 10, 2012
hmmm i only seen 2 2012 GT-R's in Queens new york
Devin Babyn Feb 10, 2012
When it's you're daily driver in the summer and he drives a couple hours a day you need more then performance. He especially needs a decent sound system to keep him up at 5am
Devin Babyn Feb 10, 2012
My dad wants to get the stage 3 S/C kit from Roush for his stang. Needs to do some saving and get his custom sound system done first though
Cody Jacques Feb 10, 2012
Ford Fan you should go to hennessey's websight they have mustang tunes and package estmates. its really awsome to check out
Cody Jacques Feb 10, 2012
haha im a awd fan. My view on the gt-r is its competitive with $250k supercars so being a rich boy I'd spend 90k on a gt-r then use the savings to make it a 1000hp monster
Cody Jacques Feb 10, 2012
They would make a uncontrolable rwd monster. lol I'd rather have a car that isnt out to kill me, ill take the gt-r!
Devin Babyn Feb 10, 2012
Oh nice choice. I'd never get a great car like that TT though just ruins the lifespan. Just get a better S/C and exhaust that's all you need on that car. Maybe some suspension work. An. Hopefully you don't get a Clarkson quality one lol
Devin Babyn Feb 10, 2012
So you're gonna buy another import but say you support American manufacturing?
Jeremy Russell Feb 10, 2012
Hey ford fan, you have an awful tastes in cars, a) u don't like the gtr b) u own an eclipse and c) you seem to be a mega ford fan... Enough said. -end post-
Zaire Wilkins Feb 10, 2012
would love to see a four door GT-R but With s V8 and launch control :) and with the price of a V6 panamera which is rediculous for a V6 panamera
Ty Piper Feb 10, 2012
@fordfan eclipses are slow as shit... And there for girls but I guess that's an opinion
Extremis Colson Feb 10, 2012
a skyline engine with an infiniti design?! WTF that sounds awesome! I own a g35 and even though its an 03 it still kicks ass. they should put the engine in that experimental infiniti at the car show.
JGL Scuderia Feb 10, 2012
the nissan gtr is such a conplicated car and infinti cant make it much different. sounds good anyway
Tj Blankenship Feb 10, 2012
@Zaire... I REALLY like that idea. The Maxima has some sexy looks.
Devin Babyn Feb 10, 2012
Devin where have you been? It definitely does do it in 2.7 and it's been documented on here many times
Michael Gallagher Feb 10, 2012
At ford, the 0-60 is about a second difference. That's a difference all right
Devin Mortenson Feb 10, 2012
@Billy P the GT-R can't do 0-60 in 2.7 sec.
Jeremy Russell Feb 10, 2012
Werd Shane. I myself have a 3.5 Altima coupe, and that is more comparable against a g35, oh yah I rip on those all day, along with trashy eclipses!
Shane Heid Feb 09, 2012
Eclipse is weak shit, I destroyed countless of those trash heaps around here every kid drivin one thinks it's hot shit. Smile to myself when my 19 year old t bird just dusts it
Matt Piccolo Feb 09, 2012
This car ftw... And howed everyone start along about eclipses and g35's lmao
Cory Allen Feb 09, 2012
Hopefully the infinity version will be less ugly.
Zaire Wilkins Feb 09, 2012
i want a AWD 2012 maxima with the GT-R engine four door GT-R or a real four door GT-R which would be sexy and keep its 2.7 0-60 or 3.0
Michael Gallagher Feb 09, 2012
Ok.. Something must be wrong with the g35 or the driver because the eclipse is a lot slower. Or your just pulling poop out your ass.
Tin Nguyen Feb 09, 2012
Wow ur eclipse with cold air intake. Lol. Y do people even mention cold air as a mod. They advertise 10-15hp on the box but in reality the most you'll get is may be 2hp. Haha!!!! Cold air.
Domi Bsaibes Feb 09, 2012
I'm talkin about the coupe, the sedan honestly sucks and doesn't work for anything... Just my opinion
Matthew Reindorp Feb 09, 2012
Fordfan you keep saying of opinions but you seem to argue with anyone who thinks the GT-R is amazing?? Or any other car atm...
Matthew Reindorp Feb 09, 2012
What I'm worried about is the rumours of a convertible GT-R in the works atm... It would be a fun car but I just can't see it working...
Domi Bsaibes Feb 09, 2012
Oh and btw ford fan, u seem to be an american car fan because you have no idea that g35s weigh almost exactly the same as 350s
Domi Bsaibes Feb 09, 2012
Hmm, u're comparing a sedan to a coupe but if u insist to compare, let's choose the c320 which costs almost the same as the 350 and is way too far in term of speed behind both of them
Stephen Reed Warren II Feb 09, 2012
I'm not a Mercedes C class guy (I prefer fast saloons i.e. S65) but I think the c class Mercedes kicks the poop out of the g35 in luxury...and I don't think the performance of either one of them is even worth discussing. Ha. Just my opinion.
Domi Bsaibes Feb 09, 2012
What are u guys talking about the g35 is the cheapest in its segment and the most luxurious too, and in terms of speed, it doesn't really differ that much from the nissan

Jordan Montera Feb 09, 2012
Regardless they're still heavy and slow
72novakid Feb 09, 2012
Depends if your talking the g35 sports coupe or the sedan. There's a difference of about 25 HP and almost a hundred pounds. And you really can't compare auto and manual cars unless your talking a super fast supercar automatic.
Jordan Montera Feb 09, 2012
Your welcome ford fan. Yea g35's aren't too special I beat one easy in my mazdaspeed 3
Tin Nguyen Feb 09, 2012
An eclipse beats a g35? Keep on dreaming. A stock eclipse will never have a chance against a g35. If you're talking about a modded eclipse then you should compare it to a modded g35. Gotta keeps things in perspective.
Jordan Montera Feb 09, 2012
It's not the transmission or the all wheel drive as other super cars have better transmissions plus all wheel drive. It's all about the area under the curve of the power band. It has huge amounts of power down low
Grant Paquin Feb 09, 2012
Transmission billy. So advanced
Description: The Nissan GT-R, known affectionately as Godzilla, is an emperor of sorts on the street thanks to its sheer power and relatively modest price tag. According to Bancon, adding some leather seats and t...

Don't dilute this car to sell it to ignorant people. Real car people respect the hell out of it, and Infiniti isn't a high enough brand name to impress the people rich and stupid enough to buy the watered-down version. It's actually a bad idea.
Teddy MacDonell Feb 10, 2012
@Michael, for them to build an entirely new engine it would be very expensive to them and very unlikely. one huge advantage to using the same gtr platform on this new car is to cut down costs because they will share parts
Jayson Lankster Feb 10, 2012
car that is exactly like the gtr ? changing it up is a great idea you give me a classy car like an infinit that has some ass and it'll be a hit.
Jayson Lankster Feb 10, 2012
exactly. Not to get off topic but Infiniti hasn't ALWAYS been about luxury, Take the g35 and g37, yeah they are really nice on the inside but those are street beasts. that's why they have luxury sedan versions of each vehicle and why would you need
Scott Gracey Feb 10, 2012
Want a luxurious sports car would buy one.
Scott Gracey Feb 10, 2012
I agree with Quinn, a more luxury less performance based gt-r basically, could totally work, more people with ALOT of money own many cars and few are actualy bought for the performance numbers, most are bought for status symbol or Whatnot. People who
Pablo Herasme Feb 09, 2012
Would be good to extend the GTR family; sounds like a great idea.
Shane Heid Feb 09, 2012
Ya the cadillac cts v is a tuned down vette ls9 and that car was a huge success and a track monster. I like the idea
Michael Gallagher Feb 09, 2012
Ininiti should make a v8TT with the engineers that made the GT-R. I would make it a little more bulky yet sleek at the same time. Kinda follow the essensse concept with a mosh of GT-R
Quinn Anderson Feb 09, 2012
If you dont want one then You won't own one so why do you care? I think it's a good idea, I don't understand how this will affect any of you if you aren't going to buy one.
Johnny Francis Feb 09, 2012
Damnit! Just leave it as it is. Or even turn the power up!
Joseph Myers Feb 09, 2012
They need to leave it how it is, the GT-R being the single car to outclass other supercars, that's the reason I got one, I don't want a luxury version with a slightly tuned down version -.-
Paul Lissona Feb 09, 2012
There's no point in it then, it'd be too expensive for none special power etc.
Jason Brower Feb 09, 2012
If this car makes it to production it will fail horribly. A more expensive, less powerful, and softer gtr. Come on.
Description: The Japanese luxury brand will make the decision to build a new model in the next two or three years, however production wouldn't start until the new, smaller Infiniti model in 2015 has been rele...

Johnny Hoover Feb 09, 2012
What are they going to do rebadge it and throw another $20,000 on the price tag
Michael Gallagher Feb 09, 2012
I hope Infiniti is still around then. I feel like their sales havnt been doing so well. But I'm kinds fine with that.. Because then if I store my G, it'll become a classic. Awsome
Tomas Franquelli Feb 13, 2012
Love this sexy, sexy car.
Matthew Reindorp Feb 10, 2012
I respect your opinion Jon but could they really get these figures with pure beauty behind the works? it shows the cold hardcore purpose of the car
Ty Piper Feb 10, 2012
I don't think it looks thaaaat bad... As long as you set it next to a pontiac aztec
Phillip Fitchew Feb 10, 2012
Jon, Scott: That's the purpose of the car. "A super weapon built for the sole purpose of winning races."
Scott Westphall Feb 09, 2012
Jon, I completely agree. Incredible performance. Uglier than sin. If I had the means, I don't think I could look past the fat a$$ of the car.
Brandon Lidy Feb 09, 2012
I could see a four door being developed from this. It's look pretty good
Jon Ashley Feb 09, 2012
I love the GTR for its amazing abilities and price, but its a complete engineer's design. It just isn't that exciting or good looking to me. Just an opinion.
Matthew Reindorp Feb 11, 2012
I admit the front end is just made for performance but the back end is gorgeous in my opinion...
Devin Babyn Feb 11, 2012
Patrick you have to admit, this is much more practical then a Vette
Patrick Schalk Feb 11, 2012
Haha ignorance is bliss Mike. You obviously don't know anything
Cody Matthews Feb 10, 2012
I love it's back. It's so beautiful to me.
Mike Botté Feb 10, 2012
Jim you're just mad because America can't build a car with such a great combo of speed handling capability and practicality
Jim Jimm Feb 10, 2012
Because its an import, ugly as crap, and it's a Nissan
Mikey Jimenez Feb 10, 2012
How can you love this car! It's hideous, but then again it's just an opinion!
Falah Jahmi Feb 09, 2012
How can you not love this car!
sphinxspere Feb 12, 2012
One off the sickest cars on the market , for the money, performance , and room to personalize and increase power. You don't know, better ask somebody this thing is K.O. the competition. woohoo!
Dimitry Mikhailovich Malikov Feb 11, 2012
*Matt Hmmm, I think this is 40-50 years newer than any muscle car!!!!!!!! And muscle cars got plenty of power for their time!!!!!! And the V8s sounded and performed amazing!!!!!!! And they looked better than anything!!!!!!! And they are still around, the engines are still running so I don't think they fell apart after 2 seconds!!!!!!
Mikey Jimenez Feb 11, 2012
@James you obviously don't know the nerburgring time of the viper and This car hahah.
James Patrick Delaney Feb 10, 2012
Faster as it may be, the term shitting on something doesn't follow up, I'd rather a viper, it's way cooler but there's no shitting
Jim Jimm Feb 10, 2012
A viper could most definately shit on this
James Patrick Delaney Feb 10, 2012
Pretty sure a viper wouldn't shit on a gtr on track. Lol
Ty Piper Feb 10, 2012
The viper shits on most things haha
Mikey Jimenez Feb 10, 2012
@Michael the viper does shit on this haha!
Jayson Lankster Feb 10, 2012
but it did. so yeah.
Michael Gallagher Feb 10, 2012
Matt is most likely a little child that knows nothing. But to say the viper shits on this? That's a mouthful in itself
Shane Heid Feb 10, 2012
Btw I want to love this car it's so awesome but fans of it like Matt are why I can't because hes such an idiot.
Shane Heid Feb 10, 2012
Again Matt you force me to say it: you ignorant tool, if this is so hot shit and the divine gift to cars you think it is how come an American car that is two years old beats this around any track?? Viper shits on this
Brad Hickey Feb 09, 2012
To advance a ton after half a century. Next time, come up with an arguement that doesn't compare modern tech with antiques.
Brad Hickey Feb 09, 2012
Yeah Matt no shit. All cars during the 70's took a huge power hit after huge Eco regulations were enacted in 75/76. The vette went from over 400 to barely 240. Did I mention that this was made almost 45 years later? Half a century? Technology tends
Matt Piccolo Feb 09, 2012
'''''unlike this'''''' after the this about the looks and cornering
Matt Piccolo Feb 09, 2012
Hmmm no I thought jt was a 70's muscle car...oh but wait, they didn't get 540hp out of a v6!!!!!!! An they couldn't take corners like THIS!!! And they didn't look good like THIS an they fell apart after 2 seconds UNLIKE this
Jordan Smith Feb 09, 2012
Obviously from the color
