Spied: Production Version BMW i8 Testing in Sweden
The BMW i8 production version has been spotted testing in Sweden.
The BMW i8 Concept was a huge hit when it made its debut at the 2011 Frankfurt Auto Show and it even landed a role in the new Mission Impossible film, starring alongside Tom Cruise. The production version of the i8 'EV supercar' was recently spotted by our intrepid spy photographers testing in the cold weather of Sweden and it looks terrific running on the snow. The production version differs a bit from the concept, with the biggest changes seeming to be the doors and the design of the rear lights.
The taillights seen here are serving as camouflage and they will change for the final design. The front-end of the i8 showcases BMW's new design language, which started with the new 3-series.
