I agree with you. THE GT3 is for those drivers who goes to track days and so, so the pdk is what matters. If you want to cruise on a mountain road, that's where the manual is better. Any other version will do the job more than you'll need.
Brad Wood Feb 19, 2012
Guys, then your car is the 991 "S", fun as hell, 6-speed avail (no charge) and is fast. Will get you/us to our destination perfectly. You just are not GT3 clients. No biggie, that's why they make different models.
Mark Ridenour Feb 19, 2012
Ain't nuthin like grabbing gears your own self.
Clint Edwards Feb 19, 2012
I don't really care if it's 3/10th of a second faster, a real stick shift is fun to drive. I'd rather have fun than get to my destination 2 seconds faster
Phillip Fitchew Feb 19, 2012
I dont see why people fight change so much... Paddle shifters were developed for use in F1. What about that says "slow" or "bad"? Humans are creatures of habit and sometimes it really hurts them.
Brad Wood Feb 19, 2012
Agreed Mark. I love the interaction of a manual, but I would rather have faster lap times.
Mark Boulton Feb 19, 2012
For the SERIOUS track person every tenth of a second counts, and the PDK is faster...
Igor Natsioks Feb 19, 2012
It sucks but not many people are getting manual. Around 25-30%. I geuss they are going by majority.
Vince DeMasi Feb 19, 2012
I hate how manual transmissions are phasing out like this wtf
Carlton Salmon Feb 19, 2012
Please Porsche, leave the manual, even if it's an expensive option. The manual was what made all previous GT3s and RSs great and different from their competitors. As good as flappy paddles are, there's nothing like manually changing gear yourself.
Description: The 2013 Porsche 911 GT3 should be the best one yet, as we have already seen the 2012 911 Carrera S run the Nurburgring in 13 seconds faster than the previous-generation Carrera S and hit the same tim...

of course it will be the best gt3 yet. What would be the point if it isn't?
Brad Wood Feb 19, 2012
This new GT3 is going to be a track monster. If the 991 "S" matches the old GT3 on The 'Ring, imagine what this new one will do! On thing is for sure, it will make the old GT3 one of the best values on the used sports car market.
Max Waite Feb 19, 2012
Best one yet except the whole PDK only thing
Cody Jacques Feb 19, 2012
I still wish they'd update the headlights like they did with the new boxer spyder
Adenis AK Ruci Feb 19, 2012
They all look the same IMO
Alex Leu Feb 19, 2012
Not liking it as much as the last generation
Vahan Gee Feb 19, 2012
You could tell from the hood that it isn't a 911 turbo
Carlton Salmon Feb 19, 2012
If you look closely, Carlos, you'll see those are only decals to make it look like a Turbo.
Chris Penza Feb 19, 2012
This is really cool. It's actually pretty different then the 997 gt3
Carlos Ernesto Garcia Feb 19, 2012
It looks like ther r side itakes behind the paint
Carlton Salmon Feb 19, 2012
That is one stunning looking car!
Carlton Salmon Feb 19, 2012
Me too, especially for a GT3 RS!!
Tanton Stoneman Feb 19, 2012
Or just the 991 gen 911 in general...
Anthony Surdo Feb 19, 2012
I like the new tail lights
Carlton Salmon Feb 19, 2012
@Bob A 'wing' is a rear spoiler. If you're a Brit, like me, a wing is also what Americans would call a fender.
Justin Harris Feb 19, 2012
Before I went on this article, I thought to myself they'd better not cover up the car with fake stuff to disguise it since we already saw the 911. Thankfully they had the same idea!
Carlton Salmon Feb 19, 2012
A GT3 isn't a GT3 without a huge rear wing. Also as history has shown us, the rear wing on the forthcoming GT3 RS will be even bigger than the 'regular' GT3.
Brad Wood Feb 19, 2012
With the new wider front track and longer wheelbase it may not get the big wing, though I can't imagine a GT3 without it.
George Lorenzo Cuevas Feb 19, 2012
If you had read the article, it said this prototype was caught "sans wing" or without it. So it will have the large wing
Carlos Ernesto Garcia Feb 19, 2012
I doubt that cause this is a panamera rear wing and it looks like it flows better with car
Nathaniel Young Feb 19, 2012
They are probably going to put a huge wing on when it goes into production
Casper Due Hansen Feb 19, 2012
Love those lights! And seems like they gone away from that huge wing.
