Spied: 2014 Mercedes-Benz C-Class

The very first spy shots of the 2014 C-Class have just appeared.

The 2014 Mercedes-Benz C-Class (internally known as BR205) has just been spotted out doing its first winter testing. As we can see, the prototype is wearing heavy camouflage which makes it really hard to see any of the new design's lines, but at least the roof line is clearly visible. If we try to look beyond the camouflage at the front-end, we expect there will be some influences taken from the F800 Concept Car shown in Geneva two years ago, but with a more marked front grille.

Since the C-Class is one of the most important models for the automaker, they will not experiment too much with the design, but it still needs to look dynamic and sporty to give both the Audi A4 and the BMW 3-Series a good fight. The new C-Class will not only be offered with various gasoline and diesel engines, but a hybrid variant for the first time as well. Set to arrive in 2014 is the sedan, followed by the wagon six months later. About one year after that we will see coupe and convertible versions. And the new C-Class will be produced in the US as well, alongside the GL and M-Class at the automaker's Tuscaloosa County, Alabama facility.
