It was no secret that
Cadillac has been developing its own version of the
Chevrolet Volt plug-in hybrid for the past few years. The clearest indication as to what it will look like was previewed by the 2009 Converj Concept (pictured here), but now Cadillac is preparing to unveil its hybrid at the upcoming Detroit show. Unlike the Volt, the Converj was a coupe that not only incorporated GM's advanced plug-in hybrid technologies but also all of the traits that make a proper Cadillac. Once it reaches production, it will ditch the Converj name to be called the ELR.
