I actually personally know one of the six men on the design team for the new z car. And the only thing I can tell you, the 240sx is a cover. The new thing will be so much more jaw dropping.
Melvin Cerrillo Dec 01, 2012
Dooooo iiiiiit! I'm getting my s14 and dropping an e rod kit in it. 240sx with an ls3
Patrick Schalk Nov 30, 2012
I'd really like to see Nissan do this.
Ty Schuring Nov 30, 2012
Yea yes hellllz yeah
Devin Babyn Nov 30, 2012
Well the S15 was putting out 250hp and 200lb/ft so if its less then that I could care less about it. s15's will be legal in Canada before this is out anyway
Pablo Herasme Nov 30, 2012
Getting that 90's feeling with all these new cheap japanese sports cars getting announced
Brian Johnston Nov 30, 2012
Maybe nissan wont underpower their car.
Braxton Omgbased Booker Nov 30, 2012
Back to the glory days in the 80/90s cant wait for mazda to show the new miata and to bring back the Rx7
David Parenti Nov 30, 2012
There should be a couple of bike articles.
Colby Church Nov 30, 2012
Lol @ everyone talking about bikes in a 240sx article.
William Downs Nov 30, 2012
And I'm not hating on the BMW, I'm very aware how capable that bike is and would love to ride one someday
William Downs Nov 30, 2012
Except Kawasaki did the over haul of the zx10r in 2008, s1000rr didn't come about till 2009, so they had no affect on kawi improving the zx10.. and it would only receive minor updates until 2012 when it received Kawasaki's newley developed TCS
Stephen Tyler Learn Nov 30, 2012
@william BMW released the s1000rr(which was awesome) and then Kawisaki remodeled the zx-10r to better compete
Dylan Bruder Nov 30, 2012
Sweet
Dylan Bruder Nov 30, 2012
That would be swwet
Carlton Sofocusedon Green Nov 30, 2012
Please please Nissan do this please. I had a stanced out 240 in 02. Murdered out puttin out 300hp.
Cory Allen Nov 30, 2012
Agreed @ nick
Stephen Cobbs Nov 30, 2012
Japanese Sports Car Revival (in progress)
Nick Sti Nov 30, 2012
I thought that the next Fairlady was going to resemble the original 240z... Maybe that will be the next 240sx?
Chris Penza Nov 30, 2012
As long as it's rwd and it's not a hybrid, this should be good
Dennis Choong Nov 30, 2012
Sweet! Bring it on...
David Parenti Nov 30, 2012
I mentioned those two because those are the only two that come to mind for being somewhat big deals for Kawasaki.
William Downs Nov 30, 2012
No the 14 was out long before the BMW and isn't even its competitor, and the zx-10 has been out since 2004.. and they haven't released any other racing bike that's why I was asking
David Parenti Nov 30, 2012
The ZX-14 was more of a Suzuki Hayabusa VS Kawasaki competition.
David Parenti Nov 30, 2012
@william, just guessing the ZX-14, or the ZX-10.
David Justice Nov 30, 2012
Another affordable, RWD, sports coupe?! sweet! Lets do it Nissan!
David Justice Nov 30, 2012
LOL troll.
Car Buzzer Nov 30, 2012
Fantastic! I hope they offer some Eco-friendly options like hybrid/EV!
Matt Piccolo Nov 30, 2012
Tho would b awesome!
William Downs Nov 30, 2012
What bike did BMW force kawi to release?
David Parenti Nov 30, 2012
A turbo'd version is a must.
Tim Preisinger Nov 30, 2012
I'm not much for Japanese cars... But this would be really cool to see. Hope they do it
William Downs Nov 30, 2012
Why do I have a feeling this things not gonna be out for a long time... unless there skipping the concept stage and gonna surprise everyone
Robby N Raquel Stanley Nov 30, 2012
In other words bring it Nissan! Vw we want that scirocco too!
David Parenti Nov 30, 2012
"focus to more conventional sedans, SUVs and CUVs." Because that's what sells. Unfortunately that leaves nothing for people wanting some flavor. Bring back the 240 and give the GT86 some competition. Just make it as cool as the original.
Robby N Raquel Stanley Nov 30, 2012
I love how as enthusiast we have so many viable options nowadays. Completion brings out the best in companies. Just like BMW turning the superbike world on its ear and forcing Kawasaki to unleash a monster of bike. ( yeah I'm a lil biased) lol.
Petre Draghici Nov 30, 2012
Pls nissan, bring back the 240sx
Malachi Monteiro Nov 30, 2012
This is why the GT-86/BRZ are so important, they force a wave of new sports cars
Cory Poteet Nov 30, 2012
Whoops... The salesman telling me what a fast car it was, and even trying to tell my mother "I wouldn't normally let a kid drive something this fast" drove it around the block shook his slimy hand and walked away laughing
Cory Poteet Nov 30, 2012
I remember test driving one of these just outta highschool. The salesman tell
Adenis KalashNikov Ruci Nov 30, 2012
Why don't companies return cars but in exactly the same way they had looked before. Some may disagree but take the Buick GNX for example. Personally I think the shape has to be one of the greatest. Just produce the shape again but with a more modern but powerful engine.
Lou Guerrero Nov 30, 2012
Haha I remember when I first got my s13. Had the spoiler taken off and resprayed. Easily the cleanest 240 in town now its a beat up track vet with scars from street drifting.
Justin Tucker Nov 30, 2012
They better make them! One of my favorite cars. Hope the new one, f they make it, has pop ups :)
Aaron Cordroch Nov 30, 2012
S13 is still my favorite jap econo car. I wish they would make clean fastbacks like this again. I would say Nissan got a timeless design in this one
David Parenti Nov 30, 2012
Not a fan of too many 4cyl but I looove when I hear a Subaru go by. Maybe a nice big blow off. You can hear a Subaru coming, and they just sound so good. I doubt too many people will disagree.
William Downs Nov 30, 2012
Love the tone the ka24 makes... like it a lot more then the note of the sr20
David Parenti Nov 30, 2012
My buddy has one. Took it completely apart. Put it all back together with new parts. Still looks original, other than updated suspension and has the original motor. It hails ass.
Tyler Tarbox Nov 30, 2012
@William. Yes, my point exactly lol
William Downs Nov 30, 2012
That's because its bone stock
Tyler Tarbox Nov 30, 2012
Now this one I would drive. Not riced out. Just looks normal and somewhat cool
Matt Piccolo Nov 30, 2012
I'd love to have one of these! Would b so fun!
Description: Yes, the 370Z and its predecessor, the 350Z, have been on the market since 2003, but its base price today is north of $25,000, starting off at $33k. The GT-R is an entirely different beast. The 240SX,...

SR20!
Den Zo Dec 01, 2012
Its only the US market that had the 2.4NA engine and the "240sx" name, the rest of the world had the real stuff! 200sx with a 1.8 turbo for the '88 gen, and 2.0 turbo from the s14 and out. The jdm had 180sx for the '88 as its model name
Joe Lamouk Nov 30, 2012
Japanese market* much better than the 200sx we had in Europe.
Joe Lamouk Nov 30, 2012
Too bad the 180sx was only for the japanese
Stephen Tyler Learn Nov 30, 2012
@david I highly doubt it would pass emissions and it would hurt nissans cafe score
David Hicks Nov 30, 2012
Bring back a re-formatted SR20DET motor please kthx
Chris Penza Nov 30, 2012
It's too bad we never got the Silvia s15. That was a cool car
Ryan Rainville Nov 30, 2012
I'd like to see them bring it back over dropping the z cars down a notch
Drake Nailon Nov 30, 2012
The "Silvia" platform was in the US long before 1988. We also had the 3 previous generations. Great cars all!
Description: A reborn 240SX could utilize the same platform as the 370Z's replacement, but leave the V6 to the Z and borrow the Juke's 1.6-liter turbo four or even a 1.8-liter unit sourced from Mercedes-...

Jesse Williams Nov 30, 2012
Sorry, I meant 240 SX.
Jesse Williams Nov 30, 2012
Keep the Z and just slot the GT86 below it.
Chris Gaines Nov 30, 2012
this is NOT replacing the z, just slotting below it
Jon Ashley Nov 30, 2012
Is this still the planned 370z replacement or something different? Whatever happens, I'm excited. I'd like the 2.5 Litre too.
Cameron Duncan Condy Nov 30, 2012
With bolt ons.
Cameron Duncan Condy Nov 30, 2012
They will most likely use the QR25 from the Sentra Spec V. They revamped that motor raised the compression and rev limiter and now the Spec is dropped. They need a car for that motor. 200hp and almost matching torque loves boost and can make 200 whp
Nick Sti Nov 30, 2012
I think they can squeeze a little more than 200 from that, maybe 220
Lou Guerrero Nov 30, 2012
That cage kills helmet room. Better be small person
William Downs Nov 30, 2012
Why because the guy actually detailed his car before a photo shoot... u do know people do that?
Ben Norton Nov 30, 2012
I'm just saying it doesn't look like it has ever been tracked
David Hicks Nov 30, 2012
Ben, the front bar has been replaced to allow more airflow to the intercooler. The car has been stripped to make it lighter, the wheels are wider than Oprah for a reason also. A "show" car will generally be something you see with TVs and subwoofers.
Ben Norton Nov 30, 2012
If this were set up purely for driving it would have much more meat on those tires. This seems to be a show car to me
David Hicks Nov 30, 2012
Close, they're SSR Professor SP1 wheels.
Aiden Bass Nov 30, 2012
Aren't those WORK Meister's?
David Hicks Nov 30, 2012
What don't you like, the forged wheels, the stripped out interior with Bride seats or the fact that it is setup purely for driving? I guess it doesn't have big speakers and spinners with candy paint so it must not be cool. /endsarcasm
Tyler Tarbox Nov 30, 2012
This whole car makes me ill
Ben Bourdon Nov 30, 2012
That color makes me ill
Matt Piccolo Nov 30, 2012
@ William, I agree!
William Downs Nov 30, 2012
Favorite silvia rite there s14 with the kouki front end
Matt Piccolo Nov 30, 2012
Beautiful!
Jacob Viiper McCord Dec 02, 2012
@Stephen Ikr? haha
Stephen Ishard Dec 01, 2012
Nothing more badass than a slowbalt haha
Jacob Viiper McCord Nov 30, 2012
@Michael Yeah. Thinks he's cool.
Michael Montefusco Nov 30, 2012
@Nick: lmao!! I guess I'll never be jdm😭 Lolz because racekar @Jacob: hahaha! It bothers me when. Fwd car does it -- not only that, a ford badge??!! @Dan: you're not dumb or blind lol I jut randomly brought the dangly things up.
Jon White Nov 30, 2012
I hate zenkei's... Kouki<3 and these are not rice! It's rwd!
Jacob Viiper McCord Nov 30, 2012
@Miachel there's a guy who goes to my college that drives a Cobalt and hangs a Ford badge from his rear bumper. Makes me kinda mad though haha
Lou Guerrero Nov 30, 2012
People are so quick to throw out the rice word. I think drifters color their wheels in spite of haters.
Michael Davidson Nov 30, 2012
Some people hang little toys off of their rear bumper to let people know that they are willing to race. I think it just looks dumb though.
David Parenti Nov 30, 2012
No crap they are drifting spares... Couldn't leave them silver? That's all I'm sayin. Would make the car look cleaner and less ricey.
Nick Sti Nov 30, 2012
The rear wheels are drift spares. And Michael, those things hanging of the tow hook are so "JDM yo" (silly)
Ben Bourdon Nov 30, 2012
What's dangling off the back???
David Hicks Nov 30, 2012
Well it's quite simple. BcozFullySikDKdrifter
Michael Montefusco Nov 30, 2012
It's things dangling off the back I hate.
Michael Montefusco Nov 30, 2012
Comming from the RWD world, what really pisses me off and I still don't understand are the god damn things that people dangle off the real bumper. I don't mind neon wheels on the back for track events but
Stephen Cobbs Nov 30, 2012
Dont know why but I like this year S14 better.
Michael Montefusco Nov 30, 2012
It's just an OEM 350 wheels with junk tires on them. He's just doing it for fun.
David Parenti Nov 30, 2012
Never understood the reason behind that. Take what was a decent wheel and paint it neon pink or green.
Mark Donnelly Nov 30, 2012
that riced out rear wheels
David Parenti Dec 01, 2012
@matt, the V6 mustang has 305 HP. Yeah it weighs 800 lbs more. You can turbo the mustang and the GT-86 for about the same price and you'd still have a faster mustang. The stock mustang will do the 1/4 mile in 14.0 flat.
Stephen Ishard Dec 01, 2012
I like the idea but I just think its ugly
Patrick Schalk Dec 01, 2012
Matt, you obviously don't understand how much faster a GT or SS is. And the V6 Stang would still dust this
Matt Piccolo Nov 30, 2012
U obviously don't understand the point of this car
Matt Piccolo Nov 30, 2012
Yea Shelby, that's a totally irrelevant comparison.. If u were compositing this with a v6 mustang, that's actually in this cars price range, this thing would smoke it... And I'd rather have this over a gt or as too, it's just more enjoyable
Chris Gaines Nov 30, 2012
you guys do realize this car is a compromise, albeit a good one. not bashing, just saying that they designed it specifically to be a performance bargain. 200 Hp is adequate, but they did that in order to keep costs down (and direct competition)
Lizmary Mendoza Nov 30, 2012
All of you are ridiculous it's had perfect power weight ratio. It cast around 26-27k. What more can you Ask for, a v6/I6 or a v8 come on now. U want performance? Aftermarket parts!!!!!! Enough said!!!!
David Parenti Nov 30, 2012
Everyone knows you can get a nice car used for 25G, but for 25G not everybody wants to spend their money on a used car.
David Parenti Nov 30, 2012
At first I wasn't a believer, but after seeing some reviews I changed my mind. Top gear bashes a lot of non European cars. So I was definitely surprised to see what they said about this car.
Nick Sti Nov 30, 2012
Power isn't everything, and we all know driving a slow car fast is more fun than driving a fast car at the same pace. It's all about pushing the limits that makes driving exciting
Michael Gallagher Nov 30, 2012
If I had 25g... Wait, I'm not going to start that argument. Lets just say, there are plenty of cars in the range of 25g (a lot used: granted) that are fast. Really fast. Not.. This...
David Parenti Nov 30, 2012
@shelby. I agree with you 100%. This is very slow compared to the Boss 302 even stock. Buuuut if someone only has 25G to spend on a car and not 48G then they are gonna go with this. I like this car a little. But I like the Boss a lot.
Shelby Cassandra Nov 30, 2012
This car is not only slow on paper. I would love to see anyone drive my Mustang and then call this a fast car. Granted, my Stang is pushing almost 600 rwhp, but come on. Don't exaggerate the truth. I've driven the BRZ and it's fun to drive, but slow.
David Parenti Nov 30, 2012
Daily driver. Meanwhile surprising some other cars on the street. I like this car and I love the fact that its a little hardtop 2 door that's RWD!... It will slide.
David Parenti Nov 30, 2012
For close 300 hp, you'll have to shell out for the BRZ STI. Or buy a Toyota/scion, drive it for a little while till aftermarket parts become available. Then drop a little coin into it. Maybe turbo it. Then you'll have a fun, reliable car that you can
Tyler Tarbox Nov 30, 2012
@David. Yeah those are all the reasons why I'm beginning to see the light with this car. If only it had about 300 horsepower then it would be perfect
William Downs Nov 30, 2012
Seriously if u have ever driven the car you would know while on paper it seems underpower, but when your driving u can't even notice it, power feels strong and smooth. And yes this car is a blast to drive, by time were done paying off the koup gonna look for a used one.. hopefully find a Brz at a decent price
David Parenti Nov 30, 2012
@tyler, it's just a fun car to drive. It's nimble and lacking in power compared to other cars. But it's the perfect amount for its package. HP to weight ratio, and they made it handle pretty good.
Colby Church Nov 30, 2012
I can't get over the power. It's just way too insufficient for me. Once you go over 300hp, it's hard to downgrade.
Tyler Tarbox Nov 30, 2012
Really really starting to like this car. I'm starting to care less and less about its lack of power
Chris Huff Nov 30, 2012
The competition
Matt Piccolo Nov 30, 2012
Better****
Matt Piccolo Nov 30, 2012
Yea have u seen the 370's interior? I've driven one and it's interior was very comfortable, very roomy, felt luxurious not to mention how fun it was to drive! And the interior is even enter when u look at what the competition is offering ss, gt, etc
Devin Babyn Nov 30, 2012
Yeah cause the R34 didn't have a sick interior
Lou Guerrero Nov 30, 2012
Couldn't disagree more Aaron
Aaron Cordroch Nov 30, 2012
To preface I loved and owned several s13's and a 350z. That being said Nissan sports cars have always been built like crap with trash interiors. I think the fit and finish will keep the toyobus the better choice. Unless the styling sells the car
Matt Piccolo Nov 30, 2012
Lol***
Matt Piccolo Nov 30, 2012
@ sasa, Nissan hasn't released a competitor so u can't really say lll
Sasa Jungic Nov 30, 2012
I would still buy GT86/BRZ over Nissan
William Downs Nov 30, 2012
The Broz isn't the exact same as the FRS/gt86.. there are differences the front bumper and lights, and different rebound settings on the suspension
Tyler Tarbox Nov 30, 2012
No. Cuz they're all the same exact car so it doesn't matter
John Hyland Nov 30, 2012
No FR-S?
