After watching the r10s rip up the track in Le Mans, I really want this to happen.
So the top 3 racing manufacturers of the highest tiers (mcl,fer,aud) might be duking it out over the next few years in a hypercar battle...? Sign. Me. Up.
The Audi etron got canned because they couldn't get any decent range from the car with the performance they wanted, so the project was killed, this on the other hand should be amazing especially if they take ques from the racing program
Price is another thing supercar buyers don't care about I think they just thought a Eco supercar is lame and I Cant bame them
People didn't like the etron because of the price. It costed way too much.
People lost interest in the e tron because some one who buys a supercar doesn't give a shit about fuel economy I don't think this will be any different

Hate the R8, it's boring and not unique. I love the idea of putting a diesel in it.
Audi has won 11 of the last 12 Le Mans with their diesels/hybrids, I think they know what they doing
James shut up and go learn something, considering Audi has been owning LeMans for I can't even remember how long with there diesel race cars
Diesel is for trucks only! And anyway if you can afford supercar then you can afford petrol too!
They planned on making a TDI prior to the Hybrid... We'll see a diesel in an R8... But I highly doubt it would be a manual... The tranny couldn't live up to the torque of the last one, that's why it was killed off... :-(

1000pd/ft just translates into alot of tire smoke and unusable power. Also hopefully it will be available in manual thets the only reason why i like the r8 becouse of the v10 manual
Wolfgang Dweirheimer is also planning for a 280mpg vehicle that would supposedly be based on the A1 platform. This diesel hybrid is much cooler though!

Finally the r8 will have its own drivetrain, R8 has always had a soft spot but always bothered me that it was basically just a gallardo in a different skin, not that it was a bad thing but this is gonna be great.. can't wait
