The current Rs focus and Rs 500 are putting out 300+350bhp they put the power down fine and handle rather well just should of used the same diff as they had in the mk1 focus Rs remember that car beat the impreza classic around the nurburg ring FACT !
When they mentioned it having "rear wheel seating", wouldn't they have meant rear wheel STEERING? Honda has used this technology in the past on models such as the Prelude so I wouldn't be surprised if that was what they meant.
I dont understand why any performance car would be fwd. makes no sense to me cuz once you try and add a decent amount of power youre screwed
If they want it to go fast around the 'ring, it NEEDS to handle well. So I guess they know what they're doing.
300 HP is too much in any FWD car. Why not focus more on handling and make it lighter?
Agree with will well said if there making a type r of that ugly (latest) shape they've got now they best make some major changes or maybe make a coupe style design just to get rid of that ugly rear end
To be honest I absolutely despise the design of the NEWEST euro spec iteration of the civic. The taillights look plain retarded. (Not pictured above) The one above is the preceding model, and the taillights are smoother and I think look better.
Hot hatch is definitely not "their" game. European automakers were making Hot hatches way before Honda.
The back is just kinda funky looking. Loose the spoiler. The focus ST is pretty advanced and comes at a fair price. Honda is loosing at their own game.
I'm sorry, you misread that. Honda NEEDS this car. They are losing to ford and VW at their own game! The "hot hatch" is one of the fastest growing trends and Ford along with VW is winning. Honda needs to build this an it needs to stand out!

Well vtec and vvt is not the same. Vvt is variable valve timing where vtec has a lift duration which opens valves more

I love how everyone on here is bashing vtec cause everyone who has a four banger around here swears by vtec.... That's why I drive a V8
Vtec was cool back in the early 90s when it was an innovative technology. Now that vvt is on almost every new engine it's really nothing special and Honda needs to stop making a big deal about it

Awd in a civic will never happen. Rwd won't even happen, but 300hp will still be enough to spank glis and gtis
I had a built not brought 1.6 vtec turbo civic now obviously it was highly tuned but it still used the vtec and it was unbelievably quick so I'm looking forward to this
