Why? They already have the convention with 5 and 6 series. But I do like to call it as 3 series coupe.

it doesn't make sense that the 2 door is the 4 series and the 4 door is the 3 series anyways

BMW betrays the roots of the very car that is the bread and the butter to company. The first 3 series was a two door sedan over two generations, then came the four door in the second half of the E30 generation. For me, 3 series will always be in two door form! Too bad!!!

Even numbers = coupe Like the 4 serie, z4 and the 8 and 6 series minus 1series Audi is the opposite since odd numbers are coupe styles like the a3 a5 and a7

I feel ya Daniel, I'm not liking the new 3 series front, the rear on the other hand I love. It looks like the 5 which I think is beautiful. But I have to say merc nation on this one

Not a fan I'm afraid. I detest BMW's design language these days, so it's a quaint old Merc for me. That would be the SLS AMG Black, then. A C63/E63/CLS63 AMG if I need four doors...
