I can concur with Shelby. I went and looked at new Evos before I purchased my Corvette, and there weren't any on the lot under $40k. They're nice cars for what they are, just overpriced immensely. I scared the guy at Carmax in one of these also. :)
@Matt. Not many people drive Mitsubishis in East Lansing. I see a lot of rich college kids cars though. But again, people have no need for track cars here. They'd rather do a hardcore burnout in front of campus security any day of the week.

Price is also very dependent on the dealer and area. When I ordered my BRZ payed MSRP of 28k with my options. That means I was out the door with less then 29k; however, people in the FT86 forum
I agree with Dan. Iv never seen an Evo close to that around here in Dover.
Auto trader and other websites like that. My point is that every car gets marked up, there's taxes on every car and its different for every location. So when comparing cars for the price, use the MSRP. It's what it's for!
It isn't markup "crap". People go by markup because it is absolutely there. The closest Mitsubishi dealer to me has one for 46k BEFORE tax. The cheaper one they have is 41k and it has no options. Tell me again how you found one.
I've about had enough of this mark up crap. I just looked online, 2013 Evo 32k. That's before the tax but you pay taxes ON EVERY CAR. This thing will murder almost everything on the track so it's a very good deal if you just want speed.

Yes. Technically it starts at 35. Add dealer markup and tax it is at least 40k. If you get it fully loaded it probably costs much more than that still.
The point of this car is NOT the interior, but I would expect a better fit and finish.
I think the "base" Evo starts at 33-35 range. I think that is decent. But I wouldn't pay 40 for lighter wheels and a flappy paddle, twin clutch bullshit.
Didn't exactly mean that it wasn't impressive, but for the 40k starting price it should definitely be much more than it is. There is no denying that the price is insane for what you get.
If it was a wanna be sports car it would have 2 doors, n/a 4cly, and fwd. Oh, kind of like the late eclipse -- exactly like the late eclipse.
And though I'm a Subaru fan and dislike Mitsubishis immensely, the Evo has always talked the talk and walked the walk -- plus some.
@Swarun I own one and I'd like them to stay. But only is they update there line up and come out with more sport models.

These cars are unique because of their awd. Nobody else makes an awd sport compact except Subaru. I hope they stay.

One car can't save this brand, they need a complete overhaul, even as it stand its a rarity I see any new Mitsubishi, usually an eclipse once in a while I'll see a lancer or evo, they killed them selves sadly.
They could have a base with a turbo 4 producing around 280hp and a V6 with 320 or so. And it needs to be aggressive and competitively priced, and abra cadabra, you have a nice looking, profitable car that would put Mitsubishi back in the spotlight.
I agree with Aaron completely. Mitsubishi is doing horrible because their cars are boring, and unattractive. They are so opposed to sports cars that it makes them so dull in today's market. They need to develop a new Eclipse that is RWD.

Mitsubshi beeds to bring back the Montero/Pajero back to the US, that's their flagship (SUV). It would definitely sale and compete strongly with the Toyota 4runner.
This angry little thing needs Ralliart/Evo running gear. It would probably give the X1 and Q3 a run for their money.

Instead of being developed as an Evo coupé, the Eclipse only grew bigger and heavier to become much like a two-door Galant. The second generation was the best, with 4WD and turbo engines to boot.
The GT doesn't look bad. They are pretty quick for fwd cars too. 0-60 of 5.6 seconds. Pretty respectable.

It's a gorgeous thing, miles better than the Hyundai Genesis, but the latter drove the correct pair of wheels. The last Eclipse is just a big FWD coupé. Two-doors are supposed to be sports cars, so it should have been either RWD or 4WD. Sadly, it just went the way of the Solara and Monte Carlo.

Picture this: This exact car, 19 inch glossy 10 spoke wheels, lowered one and a half inches, black halo headlights, dark carbon fiber hood, black tail lights, black spoiler and deck lid, tinted windows, and a lip on the bottom of the front bumper. :)
overshadow the Lancer Evo because that is their flagship car. Same reason Chevrolet dialed back the Camaro ZL1, so that it would not get the same attention as the flagship ZR1.
I'd rather build the V6 in this. This car goes 0-60 in 5.6 seconds and it's fwd. the Evo engine doesn't really produce as much power, it's faster because of the AWD. Mitsubishi is stupid for not making an AWD eclipse, but they didn't want it to

@Brandon. I've seen a good amount of Mustangs on the side of the road, new models included. So I guess they are POS as well.
Brandon for a DD sometimes it's more intelligent to buy a 4 door car that you can drive in the snow than a rear wheel two door.

Mitsubishi is just putting there resources in their other divisions. They gave up the heavy industry and steel in the US. Now focusing more in Financial. Still the largest conglomerate in Japan and will be for a while.
Atleast they should take a few models away, keep the evo in the U.S.!
I got a wrx over the evo cause I asked if I would buy any other Mitsubishi?.. They're trash. Subarus are on the road with 200k miles. Evo is decent but they make shit otherwise

I dont like the evo either. The newest generation is ugly and the car cost 40 grand so it has some serious competition in its price range

I like the Evo, but it's a bit flawed.. Interior needs work and the GSR desperately needs a 6th gear. Plus they could do with bringing the FQ models stateside too. Their after sales service could do with an overhaul too.
This shouldn't even be to big of a surprise, there cars aren't to reliable, there not on the cheap side either, plus they have no recall performing or good looking cars besides the evo, and 1 car isn't enough to save a brand, Mitsubishi gave up on the auto industry plain and simple.. had a good run but only the strong survive, and Mitsubishi ain't one of them

Subaru is on the smaller side, but Toyota owns 20% of the company. Subaru did very well, even in the recession. Sadly, their newer cars are getting more and more like Toyotas.. Except for the WRX and turbo Foresters
