RUF RT35 Anniversary Hits the Road
Twin-turbo 621hp monster runs up to 187 mph and tests out its launch control system.
Introduced at the 2012 Geneva Motor Show back in March, the RUF RT35 Anniversary Edition marked the Porsche tuning specialist's 35 years in the business. Using the new 991-series 911 Carrera S as its base, RUF added a twin-turbocharger kit to the sportscar's 3.8-liter flat-six to crank output to a whopping 621 horsepower and 608 pound-feet of torque. All that power runs to the rear wheels via a 7-speed double-clutch PDK transmission for smooth shifting action.
Compared to the standard Carrera S, those numbers represent boosts of 230 hp and 283 lb-ft of torque, and the result is a supercar-besting 0-60 time of 3.2 seconds and an Autobahn-crunching top speed of 205 mph. Following the car's earlier reveal, this represents the first time we've seen the RT35 in action.
