Matt Farah Takes Camaro ZL1 through Mulholland
America's favorite car-video host gets a taste of the famous "Snake" section of the Southern Californian highway in the ultimate Camaro.
Smoking Tire and Drive host Matt Farah recently visited the "Snake" section of the Mulholland Highway in Southern California and took a ride through the Santa Monica mountains in a Chevrolet Camaro ZL1. Wholly contained within Los Angeles County, the curvy roads prove a tough test for driving enthusiasts who challenge the highway at quicker-than-usual speeds. But as Farah discovers, the ZL1 with its magnetic suspension deals well with the twists and turns.
Similar to the setup used in the Ferrari 599, the suspension has magnetic fluid in the shocks, which respond to varying levels of current to stiffen or soften the ride. Powered by a 6.2-liter V8 rated at 580 horsepower, the Camaro ZL1 also has the power to take the canyon roads by force.
