Holden Special Vehicles is celebrating a quarter-century with a powerful special edition GTS.
Holden Special Vehicles is turning 25 next year, and the performance arm of GM's Australian division is celebrating the occasion with a new special edition GTS 25th Anniversary Edition. Set for a limited production run of 140 units, the Commodore-based muscle sedan packs a powerful V8 - the 6.2-liter LS3 with 435-horsepower and 405 lb-ft of torque, to be specific - along with commemorative badging for extra exclusivity.
Available with either a six-speed manual or (gasp!) six-speed automatic, the performance sedan can accelerate from 0-60 mph in 5 seconds flat (with the manual transmission and launch control). The GTS also features Liquid Propane Injection for improved fuel delivery. The special edition GTS also comes equipped with a new hood with "Vector" scoops and side vents for better cooling, along with a set of 20-inch Satin Graphite-finished forged wheels. Magnetic ride control suspension, two-mode exhaust system and Enhanced Driver Interface for the tracking of lap times, power and more have also been carried over to the 25th Anniversary Edition model.
Along with the 25th Anniversary badging, the cabin comes equipped with sa-nav, tire pressure monitor, HSV Oracle instrument cluster, rear park assist and more. Holden Special Vehicles has set pricing for the 25th Anniversary Edition GTS at AUD $84,990. Only 140 examples will be made, with 125 staying in Australia and 15 headed for New Zealand.
