Frankfurt 2011: Toyota FT-86 II Concept

Toyota reveals, yet again, another FT-86 concept at Frankfurt. However, a production version is expected at Tokyo in December.

Toyota just keeps teasing the entire world with their upcoming FT-86 rear-wheel drive coupe. What we can confirm is that the jointly-developed Toyota-Subaru coupe will be arriving in dealerships in 2012. However, we have yet to see a final production version for either one, even after multiple auto shows.

For this year's Frankfurt show, Toyota has once again put on display a concept version of the FT-86, which is essentially the exact same car displayed at Geneva last March.

The only difference? The new orange paint job. Although the new color looks great on the concept, we're simply too anxious to see the real deal. Scion, who will be selling the FT-86 as the FR-S in the U.S, displayed their concept at New York last spring. The FT-86 will be sold in Europe and Japan as a Toyota. Subaru has yet to unveil a real concept of their version, the BRZ, only transparent see-through versions. All three will be powered by a new Subaru-developed 2.0-liter Boxer engine that's mounted up front and mated to a standard six-speed manual.

For now we'll have to settle for what've got, but Toyota has pretty much confirmed that the production version of the FT-86 will be unveiled this December at the Tokyo Auto Show.
