Frankfurt 2011: Skoda MissionL Concept Makes its Debut

The MissionL concept is kicking off Skoda's sixth model range at the Frankfurt International Auto Show.

Skoda's sixth model range is dropping at this year's Frankfurt Auto Show. The Czech company is kicking off the new line with their MissionL design concept which made its debut during the Volkswagen Group evening event. The MissionL is Skoda's latest compact model and is very close to being production ready. The concept will skip the States and only be available for overseas markets, such as Europe, Russia and China in 2012.

"This premiere kicks off Skoda's model offensive for the coming years. This new compact model, along with other new products to follow, will enable us to accomplish our goal of increasing global annual sales to 1.5 million vehicles by 2018. We are going to present a new car approximately every six months over the next few years," said Skoda Board Chairman Prof. Dr. H.C. Winfried Vahland. Skoda's ambitious plans are not without base in fact, as the VW subsidiary saw sales increase this year alone by 18.3 percent (583,600 units).

Sales in China, Russia and India have also seen large increases during the first 8 months of 2011 alone. We will bring you all the up-to-date information on Skoda's new models as they come out during the 64th edition of the Frankfurt Auto Show.
