Frankfurt 2011: 2013 Lexus GS 450h Hybrid

Lexus has revealed their GS 450h Hybrid at the 64th edition of the Frankfurt Auto Show.

Coming off of the 2013 GS 350's debut at Pebble Beach, Lexus has brought their Hybrid variant to the Frankfurt Auto Show. Featuring the same design language as its standard internal combustion compadre, the GS 450h Hybrid fits both a water-cold electric motor and an Atkinson Cycle 3.5-liter V6 with a 13:1 compression ratio. The electric motor cranks out 338hp, however the Toyota subsidiary has not disclosed the amount of torque it can produce.

The luxury brand has also not released information on fuel economy yet, however they have said that performance-wise, the new hybrid can sprint from 0-60mph in 5.6 seconds. Two driving modes are available, Eco Mode that produces 500V and Sport Mode that puts out 650V. "The all-new GS 450h will provide our customers with an exciting blend of performance and precision in a new hybrid package. With its dynamic exterior styling, roomy interior and advanced technology features, the GS 450h further demonstrates Lexus' mastery of the luxury hybrid." said Mark Templin, Lexus group VP and GM in the U.S.

In addition to standard design language from the other GS variants, many of the 350's features make their way onto the Hybrid 450h as well. Stay tuned for more information on the Japanese luxury brand's new models.
