2012 Infiniti FX Gets a Facelift

Th upcoming 2012 Infiniti FX gets some cosmetic surgery done and is expected to go on sale in October.

The upcoming 2012 Infiniti FX has received a facelift. The new cosmetic changes include a revised front grille, standard heated seats up front across the range, front fascia redesign and the introduction of a Limited Edition FX35 AWD model. Some other features include an Iridium Blue exterior color, 21-inch 10-spoke aluminum-alloy graphite finish wheels, dark tinted side air vents, blue piping on the floor mats, aluminum pedal accents and Nissan's Around View camera monitoring system.

The new Graphite Shadow color replaces the previous Platinum Graphite with the FX35 Deluxe Touring Package getting a new set of 20-inch wheels and quilted leather climate-controlled front seats. The FX50 Sport Package gets adaptive headlights. The FX50 features a standard 5.0-liter V8 engine that churns out 390hp and 369 lb-ft of torque. The FX50 also utilizes Infiniti's Variable Valve Event & Lift (VVEL) that improves emissions over conventional variable valve designs and provides the FX50 with a higher torque.The FX35 generates its power from a 3.5-liter DOHC 24-valve V6 that delivers an output of 303hp and 262 lb-ft of torque.

Both engines are mated to the standard seven-speed automatic transmission that features a manual mode and is available with solid magnesium paddle shifters. The FX50 features AWD, while the FX35 comes available in AWD or RWD options. Sales for the upcoming Infiniti FX are scheduled to begin in October.
