Confirmed: 2013 Infiniti IPL G Convertible Coming This Spring

Infiniti has announced from Pebble Beach that they will put IPL G Convertible into production next spring, joining the IPL G Coupe.

Infiniti has just confirmed at this year's Pebble Beach show that they will put the IPL G Convertible into production later this year. It will join the IPL G Coupe in the Japanese automaker's quest to move upmarket in the performance realm. The IPL G Convertible, the second model in Infiniti's Performance Line and a spin-off of the G37 Convertible, was revealed as a concept at the 2010 Paris Motor Show. It will share the coupe's IPL-tuned 3.7-liter V6 with 348 hp along with the exhaust system and suspension.

The concept also featured19-inch IPL aluminum-alloy wheels, three-piece retractable roof and a red leather interior with Malbec Black exterior. We expect that most (if not all) of this will make it to production. Infiniti already said in a statement that many features on the IPL G Convertible Concept will be seen on the production model. The Japanese automaker also said that the concept has "a level of equipment and performance modification expected to be shared with the production IPL G Convertible." Pricing should begin at around $50,000. The base coupe mated to a six-speed manual transmission begins at $48,825.

Confirmed: 2013 Infiniti IPL G Convertible Coming This Spring

Opting for the seven-speed automatic transmission with a manual-shift mode brings the price up to $50,725. The 2013 Infiniti IPL G Convertible will arrive in showrooms in the spring of 2012. Official pricing will be announced this November at the LA Auto Show.
